Can we PLEASE have the option to NOT move the titles of the fences to the BOTTOM of the window? I find this to be SO annoying when every other fence NOT at the top of the screen has the title bars at the top while those at the very top move the title bar to the bottom. Fences 3 did this, and I'm not sure how I over came that, but, this has become SO pronounced now. <

Really MINOR issue. Version information seems to be out of sync.
That is not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that Default actions should never be performed if there is an existing rule that has ANYTHING to do with the file being analyzed for actions to be taken against it. If there is a rule that says that if the subject file contains Steam:// as its target if its a shortcut, then that specific rule COMPLETELY overrides whatever Default has to say. If that file is not recognized as a Steam sh
The objective I have for Fences is that when new or old Steam shortcuts are put on the desktop, those shortcuts end up in the Steam Games fence. Period. End of story. As a user action, if I move a Steam shortcut somewhere else, with the rule of "Keep rules applied at all times" turned on, that would mean that Fences is going to put that Steam shortcut right back into Steam Games. I will not be allowed to have a Steam shortcut anywhere else on my desktop OTHER than in
Wouldn't turning that "keep rules applied at all times" kill the fact that I would then be able to move the Steam icons between windows? I'm in the office today, and don't have the luxury of doing that particular test. It'll be one of the first things I do tonight when I get home, that is, testing to see if turning that option on or off affects the behavior.
I recently put a Steam Proxy (LanProxy) service on my network and have been uninstalling and reinstalling games like mad to test and reset network speeds, and build up the file cache on the new server. That action is not relevant to Fences, but, uncovered an issue I've noticed with Fences. Once Steam generates the shortcut to be put on my desktop, that shortcut goes immediately into the "New Stuff" group
That is exactly what I see, except PCNAME is my old hostname prior to changing it to something I know and recognize on the network. I still have WIN-AF4887 or whatever as a couple of my machines. Even if I could edit what the PCName is on the activation form, I'd be happy. EDIT: Even if Fences itself, when it calls home for the activation authorization, having this PCName field change to the current hostname would be awesome. Less work for me at the end of the day
I use Fences pretty much EVERYWHERE, and usually is one of the first things I install even before renaming the computer I install on. For that reason, I'd like to have either have the capability to add an additional one-liner note to the activations I have so I can keep notes on what machine is what, and from there I can also decide if that particular machine warrants having Fences installed. My issue stems from Windows Installer giving the machine a random name, which makes its
So how does the licence part work after OD expires? I've got 360-some days left. I can download every app toay, sure, no problem, but, that key to activate after expiry is whats tripping me up. That key ONLY exists under that subscription. I also ONLY USE like 2 apps because I have no interest in any other app provided in this pack. If I were to (RE)buy the apps individually, are those mine for life? Am I going to be bound to a subscription?
I've been using Fences since early version 1. LOVE the product, and use it on all 5 places I'm licensed for. AWESOME product as it sits, less one "feature" I really REALLY find it annoying that when I move a fence to the top of the screen that the title bar of the fence moves to the bottom of the fence. Understandably, some love it, but I'm sure some hate it. I can't seem to find an obvious option to disable this behaviour. Can we can an option to DISABLE
I love Fences, and have had for years. It is typically the first application I've installed on a new OS load on my systems for years. But there is one small annoying thing, and that is the title bar doesn't stay at the top of the fence window when dragging to the very top of the screen. I don't like how the title bar shifts to the bottom. For some, obviously, this is great, but not for me. Can we get an option thrown in that will dictate: -
When you drag a fence to the top of the screen, the title bar moves to the bottom of the page. ... Option to stop that please? I find it very annoying. Edit> Oddly enough, 2.01 doesn't do this. 2.10 does.
[history] I downloaded the free version of Fences ages ago. Liked it. Week later, bought it, and been extremely enthusiastic about it. I've even passed on commentary about it to other people, showed them what it was about, and they went out and did their thing with the application as well. My wife installs it as part of her seemingly monthly reinstall of Windows (She's a tech, and likes her machine to be a quick response machine... where as I'm more
Or, don't resize the fences at all. The icon sizes themselves don't change between a 1024w to a 1280w, so why change fence sizes? I do swap between two differently sized monitors on my quad setup at home (Pair of 1920x1080 and a pair of 1280x1024) and found it rather irritating how the fences would resize.
+1 on the annoyance level for using left mouse button and having Fences config pop up. For some, I can see it being convinient. For me, serious annoyance. Make this an option please. Left, Right, Both.
Just installed this, loving the whole "Move a fence, desktop icons move out of the way". I laughed. :] One "issue" I noticed is when in the config, the "Keep fences spaced [X] pixels apart" resets to 0 when going back into the control panel. I confirm that when you set the value, close the control panel, the fences DO keep a distance apart. When you close, then go back into the control panel, it shows 0, however, unless you change that value, the fence
