I like the idea of pirates but I think the current implementation is annoying. As someone else said they aren't pirates they are mercenaries. The main thing I hate though is having to basically stop playing and stare at the bidding screen knowing that the AI will always bid at the last minute. I can't stand that. Plus the other things people have said annoy me too; ingnoring the fleet, attacking when you are engaged with who you are paying them to attack. Stuff like that. Imo right now
if you're talking about a pdf file in a folder, icon, mine change using IPwhat version are you using?
Correct. The file icon. I have the latest version of IP just got it today. Is it ok to delete the pdf icon defined in a downloaded package then add it back yourself? The package I am using already has the PDF file icon assigned but I was thinking by adding my own maybe I could force it.
You mean the game really stops and says you won? Gives you the won or keep playing screen? I didn't know that if that is the case.Yes, the game ends because the opponent leaves the game because they hate it when they lose planets to culture. They just give up and leave. Game over.
Just to be sure. You mean the AI opponents or human ones that just get fed up with it?

I like the way they are except for two things I have read in this thread. I really like the idea of some of the "upgrades" to capital ships being accessed only through the tech tree. That sounds very cool to me. I also think it is odd that they are available right off the bat where the medium ships are not. That they are free from the start is along side this thought and I think that is odd as well. I would much rather have a light seige ship available (to take the place of what the "st

Another version I was thinking of was the that new race isn't tied to the "chasing" race but rather just a new one in lore not yet presented. But maybe the thing that is chasing the Vasari becomes a game mechanic that players have to deal with in-game. Like how the pirates are used. I don't mean implemented like the priates I just mean a separate faction/problem that has appeared and is now dogging everyone. I never played Galactic Cilivations but isn't that how one of the races were introduced/
I would like culture to be revisited altogether, maybe made harder or some other way so it could somehow be a winning condition.Man, I don't know if I was playing against newbs or what but I've won many games with culture.Based on end-game statistics that I have looked at recently, very few people produce any culture at all. Those are easy victims to culture.
You mean the game really stops and says you won? Gives you the won or keep playing screen? I didn't know that if t

I upgraded to the latest version of IP and I still have the old interface. As I saw in a video from Island Dog the new version should have an interface similar to WindowBlinds. Correct? Is my install whonky? Should I try again or is 4.0 not ready for prime time yet? My version is 3.99.143 btw. Thanks.

I don't now either but I did recieve a nice support email back when I sent this questions to them. You obviously know of this already but I thought I would post it for anyone who may look for this answer in the future. [I]Hello Fomar, I have just spoken with the developers on this. IE7 tabs can be skinned on Vista only. On XP, they cannot be skinned. The skin will obviously need this setting for the skinning to take place. Also, in IE8, there is a bug with the active t
Look in SDC (click Wincustomize) to see what you have installed and what's available(down at the bottom is an option to show pre-release versions - checking and unchecking will show the latest released or beta version)
Thanks for that info I didn't know about doing that. I did check and sure enough there was an update available. I downloaded it and mistakenly got the beta version too. My fault. I turned that option off so it wouldn't show those pre-releases and then did t
mine work2.00c(b).003
Mine don't. In this [link="http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/FomarThain/Miscellaneous/wincustomize_browser_radials.jpg"]shot[/link] that unclicked radial button does nothing when I click on it. So there are setting I can't change. But it is interesting our version numbers are different. [link="http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/FomarThain/Miscellaneous/wincustomize_browser_v.jpg"]Mine is even at 2.00[/link].
OK, first thing. When you buy WC Browser (WCB) you get the stand-alone browser and you also get Stardock Central (SDC) integration.
k got it. Already had SDC when I got Object Desktop. Just got it the other day.
The second screenshot shows WCB integrated in an old version of SDC. That's one reason why it looks different. [I'll bump someone to take a look at those images]
Thanks. :)
And you are using the Wincustomize Brow

No I am not talking about the skin. :) I bought this thing thinking it would help me navigate the wincustomize site as its everywhere and all over the place. Well it doesn't look like the screenshots, doesn't seem to be able to be edited like the screenshots, and not all the functions work and I hope I have a bad version or something because I am getting pretty hacked. Here is the product's site: <A href="https://www.stardock.com/products/wincustomize/"
The tabs will not skin in XP on IE7. It irritates me too, but even if you skin the tabs in Skinstudio, it will not show in IE7. It is an OS thing.
Well damn. X-( Will have to find a theme that doesn't make it look so bad then heh. Anyway thanks a whole lot for that clarification. :) Back to looking for skins then....

I didn't even think about stating my OS. Yes I am using XP. I guess that explains it because I do have the purchased version of WB now. Thing is there is a place where the tabs are skinnable in SkinStudio. Maybe this is a new functionality? When I look at the skins it looks like the values just aren't set. Thanks though for the reply. :) I hope it isn't an OS thing though. I just bought his program only to have cool skins but an ugly browser. It really detracts from the look

Arg! Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here? I bought WindowsBlinds because I enjoyed it so much but the damn tabs on IE still won't change color to match the skins!! They are always light blue even though some of the skins I have downloaded clearly have screenshots of the browser tabs fitting the theme. Someone throw me a bone here! Its driving me nuts. :NOTSURE:

Hey all, I just bought this after using the "lite" version for a while. I see in the misc options box you can control which "Attention" effect is used. Is there to way to turn this off altogther? It's kind of annoying. I just want to click on an icon and have it click. I don't want to it glowing or rocking or swinging or zooming. Thanks.

I hope I am missing something simple. I just downloaded the trial version of WindowsBlinds to check it out. I have been downloading some skins, putting the program through its paces and what not. Thing is none of the skins seem to change the color of the tabs in IE. Is there something I need to set? Reagrdless of the skin the tabs are light blue all the time. I know its a small thing but visually it really sticks out and is hard to ignore. :p Is it a disabled feature maybe because o
