I open the "Display Properties" dialog and then to the "Apperance" tab and click the "Advanced" button then get the "Advance Settings" dialog and then hit the button "Other Advanced Setttings" and the "Advanced Settings" dialog goes away but nothing comes up afterward. It's like I hit ok or cancel on the "Advanced Settings" dialog. I am using Windows XP Pro SP2. Any thoughts?
Found the answer in this thread. Did the edit the registry fix. Hatin' for those in this fix who don't know what the registry is, which I bet would be most average computer users.[e digicons]:D[/e] http://forums.impulsedriven.com/331217 I have had nothing but problems with anything Impulse related except for SoSE. I know it is relatively new and all but so far I have not had good experiences with it. Not to mention it is incredibly slow and it insists on
I swear I don't remember how all this subscription for this piece of software or that works anymore. Apparantly mine has run out and I can't get updates anymore, Is that how it works? If so that is all well and good.... but.... I loaded up Impluse just to see what was what as I haven't in a while and see that there is an update for IP and it says it is free so I download it and now it says it is a trial version (what is this about?) and this annoying pop up opens each time I open and close th
I have been playing Sins again since Entrenchment is about to come out and I have noticed a performance hit (yeah its pretty late in the game; I would say 75% in) that I didn't experience when I first got the game. I got it on release day. Has anyone else noticed a hit from when it first came out? I have done the usual: cleaned the registry as best I could, uninstalled some programs to make some more room on my game drive, and have made sure I have no defrag issues. Here are my specs:
Waiting on a patch/update here as well. I think the ideas behind entrenchment are great but right now I was pulling my hair out when playing it. The mine craziness was driving me insane. I posted my feedback after a few games, uninstalled it and then reinstalled the base game. I'll definately be back on it once the mine mechanic is a little more under control.[e digicons]|-)[/e]
Been playing Entrenchment. I thought these star bases were to be last line of defense type structures. As it stands I can put one in every well pretty dang early. Is this the way it was meant to be? I thought these things were to be massive mid-late game defense structures that could “tank” the defense of a well until help could arrive or be the center of elaborate defenses you have setup in that well that very well might be able to repel an invasion it self. Or at least inflict h
If Starbases were the beasts they are supposed to be we would'nt even need mines. But the cats kind of out of the bag, we are all used to fast building, every well has one starbases.
I don't think the size of the star bases negate the reason to have mines. I think the addition of mines is cool but, as others have noted, their present state just seems off. However in regards to the size of the star bases I completely agre
I don't like the idea of adding a whole new ship for mine clearing. I'd rather see upgrades added for the existing ships like the scout, flak and (TEC) Cielo cruiser that would let you have them work together. Scout spots the mines, and can be upgraded to increase detection range. Flak can be made to take out mines faster, so paired with a scout it could help clear fields quicker. Cielo is used for targetting,
Id love to have the ai of my ships handle mines efficiently.
Yeah as I stated in my post and others have posted in theirs and well I would love to see something like this. I actually think it would make the mines even cooler to have a new ship you could build that would go and clear mine fields within the planet well you are in. I should note however that I think it should only be possible in the well of a planet you are in
So really there is no "efficient" way to do this? From what I have read in other threads this is something they seem to be looking at. I was just hoping for a non-micromanage way to do this. To have to baby-sit each mine, phew, is just too much for me. I will keep playing to test things out but I don't see me being able to finish many games with this mine "situation". [e digicons][/e]
There are a ton of posts on mines so I tried to look through them to see if I could find an answer but so far no luck. So I am posting this sorry if it has been answered. I have taken over an enemy planet that has a mine field from hell. The battle was crazy. Anyway I did win and now I have this planet with a huge enemy mine field. Am I missing something? How do I get rid of this thing? Run ships into it over and over? If there is no way to quickly do this then I definitely th

I started out learning the game playing TEC. I have won a bunch of games now with them and want to start playing the other races. But man I am getting so hammered as Advent I really can't even start playing. I mean my money seems to start going down immediately and my metal/crystal production is super slow. Admittedly I am only now getting to be familiar with their tech tree (which is very different! :SURPRISED: ) but still what d
Forgot to add and there is no edit button... If you don't like the ones you have to choose from remember you can always find other user made skins and icons at the link below. It's a lot to sort through but there are some gems in there. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=29
I've installed Objectdock and while customizing it, somehow the separators (the little dividers between sections of icons) disappeared, leaving just a blank space or a transparent separator. How do you get the separator back so that it shows?
If I understand you correctly then you just need to go to another skin in the drop down box. Some of the skins you can use to change the look of the object bar don't have visual separators (intentionally as part of the design) just b
You should save as a png and import that into ID as then you should get a 32 bit icon (24 bit colour + 8 bit alpha) assuming you ask ID to create icons in that format.
Cool thanks Neil. I still have to work on it so it looks more clear and smooth but the shadow sure enough shows up. Hey guys, I guess this borders on being ID related but I didn't know which other forum I should post to. Mods move it if it doesn't belong here. I made my first icon from an image I edited in PS for the game City of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smart
That's odd--they always seem to form up as expected for me, rather than just wadding up willy-nilly.
Does that mean you can pass it and the screenshot on to the devs? ;)
With the potential for controlling tons of ships I, like many, use fleets. The problem is that a lot of the time the timing gets off when they all try to jump at once. They seem to try and jump from the same point or at least near it. This leads to the Phaseball. That is all the ships get mashed in together and have trouble moving since they are on top of each and thus have trouble phasing and keeping up if part of the fleet has taken off.
My problem is, i build my own little icon package by selecting which icons i want for certain folder, files, etc. When i save/apply, most of the icons gets put on the wrong folder/program. For example, you might see a folder icon on the hard disk, IM icon on the floppy drive and so on.. which wasn't what i selected in the first place. For one I see what you are doing wrong. When you save the set it is saved in a wrong format. This has always been a problem with IP and people not completely
