Performance Hit

I have been playing Sins again since Entrenchment is about to come out and I have noticed a performance hit (yeah its pretty late in the game; I would say 75% in) that I didn't experience when I first got the game. I got it on release day. Has anyone else noticed a hit from when it first came out? I have done the usual: cleaned the registry as best I could, uninstalled some programs to make some more room on my game drive, and have made sure I have no defrag issues.

Here are my specs:

Intel Duo Core 2.6

nVidia 8800GTX (181.22)

SB Live Extreme

Windows XP Pro SP2 (except for SP3 this is completely up to date)

181.22 drivers are the latest. Could this be a roll-back issue? What drivers are you other nVidia users using?

I don't know if its related, but a friend of mine recently had to roll back his Nvidia drivers due to issues in the current ones.

As much as I'd like to blame video drivers, which may be the case, its more likely that its Entrenchment. Beta 1 was not optimized whatsoever. It should be a fair bit better in beta 2 and even better come release.
