Gotta do something about the Phaseball

With the potential for controlling tons of ships I, like many, use fleets. The problem is that a lot of the time the timing gets off when they all try to jump at once. They seem to try and jump from the same point or at least near it. This leads to the Phaseball. That is all the ships get mashed in together and have trouble moving since they are on top of each and thus have trouble phasing and keeping up if part of the fleet has taken off. This of course can lead to some pretty big offensive blunders when you don't have all your fleet at the destination point at nearly the same time.

On some occasions the fleet will position itself in a spread out formation along the edge of the well. This works out great as everyone has ample room to phase. This allows for a near perfect phase and arrival! But... you can't force them to do this every time so its pot luck. So is there anyway we can add a setting that forces this formation along the edge instead of getting the Phaseball?

Here is an example of a small Phaseball. Imagine the timing problems when it is bigger.

Thanks.

PS - Yes I know some people don't like fleets and I know you can hotkey everything. But I like the one key per fleet you can get when you use the fleet "feature".

I'm one of those that doesn't like fleets, so I rarely use them. I am guessing, though, that you could use the button that adjusts how tight your fleet formation is...? Just a guess.

The phase ball seems to be an issue when you have capital ships in the mix. Their increased size and lower maneuverability becomes an issue when they cluster too close like that.

That's odd--they always seem to form up as expected for me, rather than just wadding up willy-nilly.

Does that mean you can pass it and the screenshot on to the devs? ;)
