Thanks again Zubaz :)

I got the email. Thank you. Thanks for the clarification regarding IP v4. I'm a little disappointed that Stardock have decided to prevent the installation of that version onto Windows 7. Especially when IP v5 is identical in pretty much every single way...as far as I can tell so far. It looks like i'll be upgrading my license to the latest version..it would be cool if Stardock would consider a discount if possible :)

4 days on and still no reply from Stardock. I haven't even had an autoresponder. I sent my email on 20th Oct to support@stardock.com . Is there any chance someone in the forum can help me please?
Why are you not using IconPackager 5?
I was quite happy using v4 prior to the format/reinstall. It does everything I need so I wasn't planning on upgrading to v5 for the time being.

If you purchased 3.20, that wouldn't cover upgrading to version 4.21. However, sometimes, the upgrade is available if the purchase was made ne

Well...i'm just over the moon at the moment. I thought I would try installing v3.20 in the hope that I would be able to update to v4.21 but no such option exists in the program and Impulse was still insisting that 4.21 was incompatible. Anyway, I didn't change or apply any icon changes and lo and behold a load of system icons have been changed. This is just marvellous Stardock...oh and thanks for replying to my support email.
I don't have any interest in Stardock/Impulse games. I only use Impulse in order to install IconPackager and even that's not possible any more! Given that, then why don't you just uninstall Impulse? You can redownload your software from https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products and Stardock is working on a new updater. Thanks for the reply Hankers. I've just sent an email and will post the ticket number here when I get a reply. Thanks again :)
Hi.. I've just performed a format and reinstall of Windows 7 SP1 x64 and Impulse is telling me that i'm unable to install IconPackager v4.21 as it's incompatible with my OS. When did this happen as it was working perfectly fine before I reinstalled Windows? If someone could let me know of a workaround to install IP that would be great as I do kinda rely on it for many custom icons. I have a full license for the application. Ch
Thanks for the reply Ausvet. I tried you suggestion but i'm still having the same problem. Have tried various combinations for the live folder icons but it happens to all of them except for the default windows icons. If you, or anyone else have any other suggestions, I would be very grateful. Thanks again.
Hi... I have a little problem with IP5 and Windows 7. It happened with IP4 so I thought perhaps upgrading to IP5 would fix it but it hasn't. I have selected custom icons for Live Folder (Back, Front and Data) but in Explorer, the folder icons are not displaying correctly. It seems the 'front' icon appears at the same time as the 'Data' icon so it looks kinda screwy. I hope i've explained well enough what the problem is...if not the screenshots below should
HI.. Have just reinstalled Windows Vista. I'm not trying to update IPv4 to the latest beta build available but Impulse is not finding any updates so i'm stuck with the buggy 4.10.177 for now. I have 'show prerelease versions' checked in the settings and have tried uninstalling/reinstalling IP a couple of times but the latest build available is always 4.10. Does anyone have any suggestions please? BTW...i'm using Impulse v3.21.381.1260. The Impulse l

I'm having the same problem as chiwou82 regarding the latest version of IP (v4.10.177). Hi.. I'm not sure if this is an IP issue or not but thought I would seek advice. I'm using IP v4.10.172 on Vista Ultimate x32. When I right click an XML file to change the icon...if I select to restore the default icon, the following path appears: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS3\Dreamweaver.exe,2 I no longer have Dreamweaver CS3 installed on my system so the link is not valid. I've searched through the registry for any
Will do. Thanks :)
Update: The change icon context menu entry is also missing on wmv files. As a test, I installed IP on XP and it works fine on there so it's only affecting Vista. I also installed IP to a Vista installation on a virtual PC environment to see if there was a chance that a program I have installed on my main Vista partition was causing a problem but the change icon context menu entry was missing on avi and wmv files there too.

Thanks Seabass...i've managed to stop the activation prompt popping up when opening the main interface of the program but it still pops up when trying to change an icon via the right-click -> properties method. When I enter my Icon Packager v4 serial, it tells me it's an invalid product.
Thanks Seabass...PM sent :)
Hi.. would someone be kind enough to reset my activation count please?? This latest version is a bit of a nightmare in terms of activating and keeping it activated. It does look good but i'd gladly sacrifice the new look for a more stable activation process. I know most new software has teething troubles but from what i've read on various forums, the activation issues (activation box keeps popping up after activating a
