Disable Impulse (GameStop) promo screen - Men of War bundle

Hi...

is it possible to stop this annoying popup screen from activating?

I don't have any interest in Stardock/Impulse games.  I only use Impulse in order to install IconPackager and even that's not possible any more!

Thanks.

Given that, then why don't you just uninstall Impulse? You can redownload your software from  https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products and Stardock is working on a new updater.

I wish I could do just that but the product I want (IconPackager v4.21) doesn't show in my store list.  It is listed in the 'Other' section with my serial but there's no download link.

I have a link for v3.20 Enhanced which installs but i'm not able to update to v4.21 as it's apparentally not compatible with my OS....although it worked fine before my format and reinstall.

If someone could point me in the direction of v4.21, I would be very grateful.

Well...i'm just over the moon at the moment.

I thought I would try installing v3.20 in the hope that I would be able to update to v4.21 but no such option exists in the program and Impulse was still insisting that 4.21 was incompatible.

Anyway, I didn't change or apply any icon changes and lo and behold a load of system icons have been changed.

This is just marvellous Stardock...oh and thanks for replying to my support email.

open impulse and click on the left tab (should be the blue highlighted one)

click on the top menu item (impulse settings)

uncheck the "load impulse now on startup".

this is how it worked before the sale, now I don't know they could have changed it, good luck.

Normally a stand-alone product is only upgradeable until the next version number, i.e. 3.xxx to 4.xxx then 4.xxx to 5.xxx.

If you purchased 3.20, that wouldn't cover upgrading to version 4.21. However, sometimes, the upgrade is available if the purchase was made  near the release of the next new version. If not, it's available at a reduced price.

You should contact sales with your purchase information as this seems to be an account issue, which can't be handled in the forums. They can assist you in getting the version you are entitled to.

As for reply #4, GameStop Now( Formerly Impulse Now) is a tray app update notifier. It has no effect on those annoying pop-ups by the systray when GS is launched, we are stuck with them as long as we use GS.

Thanks for the reply but that isn't what I was referring to.

Thanks.  I upgraded from v3.20 to v4.  I had to pay for the priviledge too.

I'm still waiting to hear from Stardock so hopefully things will be resolved soon.

I was quite happy using v4 prior to the format/reinstall.  It does everything I need so I wasn't planning on upgrading to v5 for the time being.

I don't have those annoying pop-ups.  Its working here just fine.  Make sure GameStop Now isn't checked.  Also, when did you last reboot?

The only reason I am using Impulse/game-stop is if I need to install an archived item.

I have uninstalled all my Stardock programs and reinstalled them using the Stardock store. The reason for this is if you uninstall Impulse then try to use the uninstall in W7 programs and features it will tell you that impulse is needed to uninstall the program.

Count yourself as lucky then, the ads are friggin' huge.  GameStop Now not checked, (checking it adds a systray icon) rebooted yesterday. I've only been getting these since it changed the Icon from the old Impulse one to the new GS one after an update to the client.
