I know this one isn't on this forum but Director's Frontier over at Paradox is still the best aar I've ever read. Here's a link http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=261263 It is a story told from multiple points of view that reads kind of like one of the Honor Harrington novels. It's somewhat light on the screenshots but makes up for it by being a very good read.

You can change your starting abilities on the race setup screen. If you mean actually modifying the inherent bonuses each race gets then you can edit the values in the the race xml files in your My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor folder. You can also go to the folder where you installed the game and look in the data folder. I think the file is raceconfig.xml but am not sure. If you modify the last folder you should back it up before you do so. Any changes outside of the game will trigger
Nope, that was Eric Flint. Weber cowrote 1633 though, as well as a couple short story/sequels in The Ring Of Fire and Grantville Gazette books. I didn't mention that becasue the request was for space opera, not alternate history.
I finished reading 1632 yesterday. Very good book in my opinion. I have just started reading 1633.

I enjoyed the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. On Basilisk Station The Honor of the Queen The Short Victorious War Field of Dishonor Flag in Exile Honor Among Enemies In Enemy Hands Echoes of Honor Ashes of Victory War of Honor At All Costs I also liked his Starfire series which was based of a space board game of the same name. "Looks like you made a copy of the planet improvements as well. Where did you place these copied files anyhow? Depending on where you place them, it could either overwrite or add to the existing list (I too once had duplicate stuff because of me modding). Could you look in the mods folder you're using and try to see if anything exists in the folder \Data\PlanetImprovements?" Thanks, that was the problem. I thought I had cleaned out that mod folder but apparently I had

I made a modified Terran Alliance tech tree to use to figure out how to use the editors to make my own. It was just a test so I only added 1 tech, Super Trade, to the standard tree. I renamed the tree Trader and changed the Internal name to Trader_TechTree. When I try out the tech tree with a custom race I get these duplicate buildings. For example I get market center twice in the building list it is the same with other structures. [URL=http://imageshack.

You may have done it accidentally. Look on the opponent selection screen. Next to each AI's intelligence level there should be a button that lets you set their starting relations to you. Make sure they are all set to unknown.

I would be happy with seperate starbase weapons (so they can pwnersize fighters) and modules that increase max hp. Something like Battlestations 1 giving +1 to each damage type and +10 hp. A new starbase would be rather small (comparativly) and weak but as you added new modules it would grow and even non combat modules could add hp because they make the base so much bigger.
Your population also has a strong influence on planetary influence. Moreso, in fact, than it does for economics. The tax benefits tail off as population rises, but influence doesn't (so far as I know).
Doh! Sorry, I forgot about that one.
I'm completely new to this game (owned it for 3 days), so for all I know this is an ancient bug, or not a bug at all, but I can't use the search engine to find an answer to my question, because the search feature NEVER WORKS.
The forum search engine was never very good but now it is absolutly awful.
, the portraits are stretched
I get this also.
but how do i do that
First make sure you have TA and are playing as humans (or anyone with Fleet Warp Bubbles). You then need to design a ship to use as your "carrier". Then design some tiny or small sized fighters and fleet them with the "carrier". After that its all up to your imagination.

Im pretty sure that setting logistics to +20 will be overpowered as I dont think it means 20%. I believe it means 20 pts, in other words whoever has it will be able to fleet like 5 medium ships from the beginning of the game.
