And as far as updated drivers, make sure you do a clean install. I thought my update a couple of months ago worked but when I checked my driver props, it was still using the originally shipped drivers. Even updating through the control panel didn't change it until I totally deleted the original drivers and then installed my updated drivers. Don't know if it will help your problems, but worth a look. Carielf posted this somewhere in the issues cat. Thanks Cari!!!! https://forums.galciv2.com/?

Just play the darned game! Figure might as well be as nice and toasty as others are in here! Just enjoy the game, that's what it is there for.

So...to summarize the thread, energy travels in waves and still no sound in space. Great. Hey now, I'm the one who was saying energy travels in waves! LOL. Seriously though, I forget who replied that we are missing my point. If someone swings a hammer and hits you in the head, the result is the sound, or thud. People only see (or hear) the result

personally like the idea of carriers in the game but that horse died long ago. Give it up already. So then all of you are going to give up asking for anything you want in the game as well? Will you quit asking for a green turn button? Or a nerfed morale/economy building? Or rewritten alliance code? Or altered ship dynamics? Or a million and one

We're not doing carriers in GalCiv II. I don't think it would be fun, I don't think it would add much to the game. Regardless, how would you figure that carriers wouldn't add much to the game. I guess there's no reason for them in any sci-fi rpg, vid game, movie, or book that they actually appear in. Or, maybe they are so useless that our modern

[@Cari_Elf] I don't care, I just don't have time to code anything like carriers Ummmmmm, isn't your job programming? And add me as signed, don't care what number I am, for I am number one!

Wow, such hostility over a simple topic. I had the impression that this forum was for anyone interested in the game and for sharing ideas across a broad spectrum of players. Obviously there is a division amongst the ranks. I haven't noticed any absurd or idiotic comments in any carrier thread where those of us who support having carriers bad mouth others for wanting things that they want. I guess that goes to show the intelligence level of some people in here. Always interesting reading what a h

If people want a good chucle they can go over to the Off-Topic forum. Well, as I stated, I didn't think that anyone read those, as I know I don't. But if it bothers you so, maybe you should get out more and broaden your horizons alittle, ya know. I was merely trying to share a lighthearted joke with my fellow players. One way or another this who

Whaaaaaatt!!???? There are NO checkpoints in space!!!! It is tooooo big! There is NO terrain to travel!, aka roads You just travel and thats it. If you want to have checkpoints, we would be talking about using some sort of "2 way transportation system" like the 1 in Cowboy Beebop, aka "STARGATES" Must everything be a paint by n

Man I love it when people think they understand polotics... it makes me laugh! Did you know that whne President Roosevelt was president he accualy had a Soviet Spy advising him at Yalta? And there was evidence before that was presented to Roosevelt and his liberal friends that Alger Hiss was a spy. It was even proven he was a spy but Roosevelt didn't listen. Oh

Thats what us British did getting the US to join in against the Nazis. oh: Yeah, you tricked us by bombing Pearl Harbor and creating negative propaganda so that our sheeple would agree to enter the war. Nicely played on a bunch of idiot USA'ers huh?

Yeah, I will buy one. Of course I will wait until the price drops. Besides, the first generation games developed for consoles usually aren't as good as they can be so it's not like I'm going to be missing much at first. Until then my trusty PS2 and desktop will suffice. Hell, between GC2 and Civ4 I don't have enough time to even think of playing the console! And then there's the Sims2, and Simcity4, and Pirates, and so on,,,,, lol.

Maybe so, just wanted all players to get a good chuckle, I mean cmon, it's as cute and innocent as you can get, and btw, I heard that one from a nine year old nephew. He doesn't realize what it really means, and any kid who would has issues. Oh, and do we have anyone playing this game under 12.

So there's a birch tree and a beech tree standing in the woods. One day the birch tree looks down between them and notices a little sappling pushing his way through the foliage. "Hmmm", said the birch tree, "do you know who he is?" asking the beech tree. "No, I don't" replied the beech. "Well is he a son of a beech or a son of a birch?" asked the birch tree. "I can't tell" said the beech tree. Just then the old and wise woodpecker flew in and began searching around the base of the trees for

But the USN has essentially slimmed down to just Ticons and carriers, with smaller ships acting in picket roles True PaladinStorm, true. Somehow I think that in the end this will have been a mistake though, kind of like putting all of your eggs in one basket. But that's just my op!

What would be the reasoning behind making an enemy fleet move slower within another Civs sphere of Influence? This one is easy. Think of Israel. The Palestinians have to pass thru checkpoints almost everywhere. A simple one mile trek can take some of those people hours to make due to being detained awaiting "clearance". If you were in charge of a
