I'm well aware of the issues Klaleara, and I listed them.
the base General is not taking a risk of getting killed.
Zorph, face it, that's what Generals do in reality. Soccer, I would humbly suggest you stop as your comments are not building anything, they are purely deconstructive and repetitive to points you've already made. Try to post when you offer new information to the table. Furthermore, asking the question "What point do Generals have in the game if they are base boun
Also, by staying in the base, there is no risk for the General.
I apologize if I didn't explain this clearly enough, as I thought I was very clear on it. The risk to the General would be in the minions he/she produces. In this fictional scenario, the minions could be able to accquire rewards for the General and capture flags, kill assassins, etc. But when a minion is killed, it's like breaking one of the General's fingers that is
Erebus and Oak are great visually and conceptually - take away their ability to purchase the "general items" (minions), leave them with their special unique minions (nightwalkers, spirits), call them Assassins and be done with those two.
*Laugh* Actually, I couldn't agree more. Right now we've six Assassins and no Generals. In order to not waste materials, time and effort, just balance them out as Assassins and
Sparika, saying Generals have to participate in battle may be taking away from their General-Feel. I'd say the best route would be to make some Generals more suited to participate in battle, and others more suited to stay in the base. Let the player decide what they want to do with the General. Lifekatana, you said "give us ways to deactivate them for a long time" - by them, you mean Portals. Well, at present you can. You can capture an enemy portal and lock it down f
Insanetitan, Generals currently are Assassins. If we can considering changing them to be within the bounds of what the currently are, we might as well just let all the other Assassins be able to purchase to Minions too. What we're trying to stress here Insanetitan is not that we want them to be more like we thought they should be, it's that we really don't want them to share any relation with the Assassins at all. The idea of Demigod is to of
No doubt Stilbine, Eva, and a number of others have the right idea when it comes to Generals. At present, they are too RPG driven, and we know it's not something we want to play when it comes to Generals. Some people believe they are fine as they are, wanting to take thier Demigod into battle, etc. But this is the silver lining, is it not? We're supposed to have four, perhaps even five Gernals at some point, and there is an opening there to vary their gameplay styles. &n
Soccer.. no one is supposed to talk in bullets. Talking in bullets shows you didn't read my thread. >.>
Do not forget I didn't mention Favor or Achievements, those too can be used to deisgn a more custom build. I didn't really ask for new unique units for each Demigod, no. They already have them, their models and animations exist as it is - no new art would need to be created. Aside from the soul suggestion of course. Giving players greater control over the attributes of each units allow a player to customize their army more to their liking, and also skill trees and abilities would stil
Considering Oak and Eredus are basically just Assassins, a complete makeover for them wouldn't be a bad thing. ^^
The "Generals " Discussion 2.0 Since Beta 1, we've been dealing with Assassins and we know them and love them for what they are. The introduction of Beta 2 brought a new side of the game into the light, Generals, and though we know they are far from finished this thread has been erected as a staple to help them grow into becoming something fun and unique to play. I'd like a warning, and indicator that reminds teamates to invest into the citidel. I'm tired of being the only one who does it.

No, because "leading the team to victory" may actually work against you. Investing in upgrades, capturing flags, assisting other Demigods, and defending your territory oftens earns you more favor than just leaving a path of destructing in your wake.
Thing is Frog, even when I run everything low online - it's when the game gets cluttered with lots of units does everything always bog down, even on a fairly good machine. The only way I avoid this issue is adjusting the Spawn Rate of units, giving people time to kill them all before more spawn. If the Spawn Rate is set to default or high, it's lag city.
Favor is not a reward for victory, it is a reward for the effort you put into the game. The more you do for your team, the better your favor. Winning doesn't equal favor.
Demigod AI Nightmares use this as well as well to quickly rush into the enemy base and lay seige to your Portals. It's very nasty, and easily exploited by someone who is completely bent on laying siege to the base and nothing else. It's be nice to have some way to 'stop' more easily. I can't even stun or freeze Oak while he's in this form. It'd be better if we could stun him, that way he'd waste precious seconds.
Great information, thanks a bunch!

I too strongly believe that Maya/Max may be the only "Editor" we'll get. But that's not exactly a huge loss to many of us on the forums who do know how to use such programs as it is.
Xen of Onslaught I've been part of this clan for several years, and may continue to be a part of it. The community's growth is very dependant on new games, and likely as this game shapes up we could use plenty of people from this game interested there. We even had people from DotA playing there, but as out of even the DotA branch has dried out. Hopefully in time, a game like this
