Seems like my thread has stirred up some conversation :D I would have too preferred a more complex ground battles with specialized ground combat units (ala MoO2) and graphics that change with technology advancements.

Hello, I still have not bought Twilight Arnor but its been on the TODO list. I was wondering could somebody pop a screen shot or two from the new ground combat screen. I know its a trivial thing, but the old was so ugly it left trauma or two on me :D Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have encountered some weird capital ship behaviour after installing 1.04 patch. This might be reported allready, but have not spotted it in the forums. Basicly what happens is that I have for example couple capital ships jumping in a sector, there are enemies and battle begins, but for some weird reason my second capital ship always decides to flee the system. Now I have ordered the ships to attack, but no, the second capital ship allways ends up leaving the system :( I ha

I can concur this one. I patched 1.04 through SD and my friends from the website patch. I hosted a game and everybody was getting "different version" error when trying to join. I then downloaded the patch from website, patched the game and after that there was no problems. edit: Ok checked this through SD and Sins is reported now as version 1.04 and tries to update it to 1.04.22. I think Iam gonna pass since last time the SD version gave us headache.

Hello, I have only couple Sins games under my belt so bear with me when I ask newbie question. Is there a quick way to check how many example Civic/military Research Stations you have builded? Currently I check it by going to the research screen and it tells me that "Not enough" research stations have been built. This is ok, but I would prefer to know exact count of built stations, as in big games even with the excelent UI, it becomes tedious to hunt for individual buildings. Noth

I do not like RTS games very much, but this Sins is an exception. It has alot to mess with like technology tress, putting bounty on another player and so on. I recomend to try it even if your not a RTS buff. If I would have to say which is better, GC2 or Sins, I would probably go with GC2, but thats just because Iam more of a turn based game fan. edit: The Sins UI is really powerfull and allows you to easily control large groups/planets. If sins did not have such good

Thats a real B**** ! Space Genre is making its big come back and European distribution firms are putting their blind folds on :( Oh well, thank god we have stardock software, had no problems downloading GC2, so its a non issue for me.

5) AI will surrender if situation is hopeless rather than drag the game out. ^ I was worried about reviews that seemed to make this the big bad thing in Solar Empire, glad to see it fixed, will be buying this game very soon :)

The betas seem to come on well, but since I have been out of the loop for quite many months could somebody clear up couple things. Is the Twilight Arnor still up for March launch? Has there been any news on ground combat or pictures about the new ground combat screen?

Arnor, precursors, mithrilar, draginol, telenanth.. Whoa that made my head spin, I did not get anything out of that. Granted I have not studyed the GC universe at all, is there a place where I can recap ?

Looks very very promising, especially if the new invasion screen is anything like the new planet surfaces. Good work on that. On the coins flip side, the planetary building list is still as confusing as ever. Its the only thing in this games UI that makes me want to puke. Cmon you have added improvements to the research screen allready, time to give some love for the building list also!

Time to ressurect my old UI thread. Basicly it sums up almost all the annoyances I have with current DA UI. [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?AID=136404#1090776"]UI improvement ideas[/link] The most critical UI improvement I would like to see is the following: - Same class buildings should always be at the same spot in planetary building list. Current system with changing building names create confusion since the building list changes all the time. Each clas

For the love of god Stardock, do tell you plan to change the Planet Buildings menu for the better with TA? Alphabetical order and a list with gigazillion different buildings just is not very... elegant? Maybe separate different building classes with color boxes or something, this was the main annoyance with DA UI, atleast for me.

Good luck with all the beta people! I won´t be attending this time as I gamed DA beta so much that I had no energy left to game the full version. Not going to make that mistake again ps. I anxeously wait for some pics and info about "new" ground combat. Hopefully the ground combat system gets an overhaul too, but this is unlikely.
Hey are you guys ever going to have the option to have the old espionage system? I don't like the new one.
Yes please. Too much micromanagement to alrdy micromanagement full game. Older system option would be welcome.

Hold your horses! There is something wrong, but you can go around it. I got that very same error when trying to update from the "pop up update" box. When actually selected the Dark Avatar from the list and pressed Update button, the patch installed without a hitch for me.

Sweet stuff. Keep it going! ps. About the space miners. They still seems to "know" all asteroid fields in the map, even if they are on fog of war zone. Is it possible to fix this? I just hate when my automated miners go on cruising to the furthest corner of map all the sudden.
