That's an interesting suggestion and I'd like to hear what other thigns: Attack and defense Assist only do the assisting if you have that particular type of weapon. I.e. Iit won't add missiles to a sihp that doesn't have missile. It won't add shields to a ship that doesn't have shields. <br/

It IS a beta , right? Gripe about the finished patch, this is still a work-in-progress. I have no idea who you are referring to but you don't seem to understand the point of a beta.
Do you have the "no trading tech" option turned on ? It is meant a bit to be like this, you (and the AI) research a particular weapon branch. After you some time it (should) become to expensive to research other weapens. If tech trading is allowed the AI just buys/trades with all others. If tech trading is on, sorry, n
Your grasp of probability is weak. No, it's not. It's you that are having some reading problems. I did write that this has happened to me multiple times. If you knew anything at all about probabilities you would understand that it happening (all races focusing on same weapons at start, then switching to the exact same weapon and defense a
They don't happen very often. And they stop happening completly when you have researched Xeno Ethics and choosen your alignment.
What weapon tech a given AI will choose to initially focus on is = rand()%3. 0 = beam 1 = mass driver 2 = missile Yes, so it clearly is a bug. Otherwise, what would be the chance that all 9 races focused on beam, and then at the exact same time (let's say their M3
There is a huge difference between the League of Independant Planets and the Borg. The main one is that the I-League is just a set of planets originally formed from disheartened members of Evil Empires. They are "Good" in the sense that they live only to destroy evil, So just as long as you took the Moral Hi
o The bug where morale+5 is on every colony but your first is still there. To see it, colonize a planet and click on the details window. It shows morale+5 on every one but your first one. This is not a bug. The Initial Colony tile gives +5 morale. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bg
I ran some more tests with lots of races and the weapons&defence-bug doesn't happen all the time. So I guess that's why not more people has noticed it. But it happens quite alot so I hope you will find it, Brad, and squish it. It's not fun having played through the start only to discover that you are fighting 9 races that all the time uses the exact same weapon and defence-types.
This is not a problem with the beta alone, and has always been the case. It seems the AI will always pick the same technologies as one another until they start fighting heavily. For defenses, it makes sense, if everyone is using one weapon, then research that defense, but for weapons it is a little more than odd. They will only s
I have seen that happen too, the AI colonizing a class 6 planet when there is a class ~15 a few parsecs away in the same system. I usually check all the planets in a system before I colonize unless the first is really great or I'm in a hurry, the AI would benefit from doing the same. But I guess then that even more people would assume that it was cheating. Here is another more recent thread where the OP accused the AI of cheating, with replies from Frogboy: https://forums.galciv2
Please fix so that the AI players research and use different weapons and defences in the same game, again I did a quick test without fog of war, just pressing the turn button and seing what kinds of military ships that was built. Result: All of the computer players built missile ships. I'm quite sure that they all focused on the same defence too. In games I have played in the pre
Big AI research/ship design bug. All the races research and use the same weapons and armors. For example, in my current game, all 9 nine races research and use massdrivers and armor. Others on the forum has noticed the same behavior. The sad fact of the matter is that this game is perfect, with the except that it is not multiplayer. No, that's an opinion. Let me show you what a fact looks like. FACT: The game wouldn't have been "perfect" if Stardock would have spent a third of their resources on multiplayer.
I've also seen it. Before 1.1B, there were various techs. After the patch, with tech trading on or off, everyone chooses a single offense and a single defense. Last game (trading on) it was lasers/armor. Before that, TT off, it was mass drivers/?. I don't know what the defense was since they never used it. This was on Painful and Tough. I
It has nothing to do with human understanding, it is to do with human perception. A human cannot visually see with the eye purple and green stars, so from a visual point of view there are no purple and green stars. This game is made for humans to play so should reflect the human point of view. Nah. I have n
Weird AI behavior in my current gigantic game. All 9 races were filling their ships with harpoons and one shield (max damage 3 or 6), no diversity at all. Then suddenly every one of them designed their M3-7 ships, all of them filled with massdrivers and one shield (max damage 2-3). So basically, every one of them downgraded their designs. Note that I was the only one that had done some missile defense research.
It would be nice if you could see which trade goods you have control of and those you have traded for in the Stats screen. Likewise see which trade goods an AI has under their stats.
Planet Summary: * Shows wrong when you have built a morale-building on a 100% morale-bonus-tile. For example an Entertainment Network shows 25% natural bonus, 100% bonus-bonus and it's added together to a 125% morale-bonus at the bottom. The same thing happens with a influence-building on a 100% influence-bonus-tile. Ship Design: * Impossible to click-and-move inside the window after having chosen 'Front View' or 'Side View'.
Much slower. Making population growth bonus really useful.
Looks great! A couple of comments: Now that you have decreased the nanorippers damage, please think about decreasing the damage from Psyonic beam and Psyonic Shredder. Otherwise it will now probably be more difficult for good and neutral races to fight the evil ones. Wouldn't it make more sense to multiply the morale bonus directly now that it's done with all(?) the other abilities. A simple fix, if you haven't already done it. Both Intensive Farming a
I get this too. All the time. All the races influence colors are shown in the minimap when I'm fully zoomed out but they disapear in some sectors when I zoom in. Oh, did you misread my post as suggesting that I actually had the beta rather than just wanting to be playing it? I do apologise. Well, if you hadn't said in your title that you were playing the game right now (at 5:05:47 AM), I might have accepted your apology. But since I had to open this
What's the point? A weaponless defender can never win, and will delay an attacking fleet/ship for exactly one turn. That's it. In a real time strategy game, such a strategy is useful, since if the attacking ship takes 25 minutes to beat down your defender, you can keep building in the meantime. But in a turnbased game? <
It was removed in beta.
