Exactly. And if you want to, you can make it smaller yourself.

Seriously. The AI WILL NOT trade military techs with me - ever. Not even when I offer it ALL my techs, ALL my money, and ALL my influence. So why is it trading military techs with other races? That sounds like it's distinguishing between humans and AIs to me. Actually, I trade/buy military techs from the AI
Probably because it's too easy to demand stuff from them.
As I understand it from another thread on this (having never actually built it myself), it decreased the cost for building it to zero but it will still take up as much space on the ship as before.
If you design a ship, all the new extras have the name "Special Structure - Collector's Edition Structure".
To reset the races to default you can choose custom race, load and then delete the CurrentCustomRaceX where X is a number from 0 to 9 depending on which race it is. For example 0 is terran and 9 is Iconian. You can also delete these files in My 'Folders\My Games\GalCiv2\' where they are stored.
Brad, are there any plans to add the other major races homeworlds terrain? The humans have earth but the others are stuck with generic planets that only looks unique on the galactic map.
The only way to reset the races now is to go into custom race, press load and delete the corresponding save file. For example terran is CurrentCustomRace0, Yor is CurrentCustomRace5 etc. Hopefully this will be fixed soon so that 'Clear' resets the race too. Loyalty +100 and loyalty +40 that Yor and Thalan has seldom works. Most of the time they disapear when the game starts. I haven't recognised any pattern to when they are disapearing.
I agree with Asharak. I really like that there is so much good and fun dialogue in the game but bad grammar always lessens an experience for me, whether it's a book or a game.
Race: Yor, to teach all the "meat" who the master is. Galaxy size: Gigantic Opponents: all of them Habitable planets: common Clusters: tight Difficulty: All AI set to one level below Intelligent. Seeing as so many of you play terrans, I will make it my goal to destroy them utterly ASAP.
I have 2 Mbit/s. The game is roughly 1.1 GB if you download it all. It took me a couple of hours to download everything last thursday from a server in USA.
I was wondering since the release date got pushed forward in Europe if it is possible to buy/download the game from Stardock for non-US residents? I live in Sweden and have a 512 KB ADSL connection, can i download the game? Självklart. I have already preloaded most of the game and I live in Sweden. They a
Are you colorblind? Otherwise I would say that you are overreacting.
Yeah, I haven't actually played Altarian Prophecy but I remember seing a screenshot where they were pure evil so I thought that they were going to be that here too. But it makes sense to have the same number of good and evil races. And "Dark Your" in my above post should of course be "Dark Yor"
These are the races alignment according to RaceConfig.xml: PURE GOOD: Altarian Republic CHAOTIC GOOD: Drath Legion Torian Confederation NEUTRAL: Arcean Empire Iconian Refuge Terran Alliance Thalan Empire CHAOTIC EVIL: Yor Collective PURE EVIL: Dominion of Korx Drengin Empire Minor races are all neutral except Dark Your, Snathi and of cou
No tactical combat.
If the Terrans had good relations with the Drengin, it would be stupid of them to attack and risk being conquered.
The game is a little over 1.1 GB (including tutorials). If you press the + to the left of Galactic Civilizations II in Stardock Central, you will be able to download the rest of the game (except a few key files).
I would like to see certain races having a prefference for certain political parties. For example, there could be a higher chance that an AI Drengin would be War Party than Pacifists.
I've got a laptop with 64MB Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller. Will it run GalCiv 2???
Yes, because events that could potentially wipe out a couple of your top planets in a single turn is fun Besides, the probability that any sun on the map would go supernova in the limited time that a game takes place (one turn being a week) is probably non-existant. And I really don't see what black holes would add to the game.
I'm not Stardock but I'll help anyway. IGN has background for eight of the ten races. The Korx: http://pc.ign.com/articles/673/673644p1.html The Thalan: http://pc.ign.com/articles/676/676767p1.html
Here are some more errors that I discovered while I read through the draft: p.12 Change the sentence "The forms of government are:" since you then proceed to list the different political parties. And maybe put the Warparty last since all of the others are in alphabetic order. p.28 "Colony is currently defended by ships and orbit and cannot be invaded". Shouldn't it be "in"? p.55 "Orbital Terraformer: All potenti
