Well, it's finally back to normal function (SDC that is). It's finally not reporting any new version available. Didn't change a thing... didn't renew xmls (did this previously several times). Only thing that changed was 4 hours past... no reboots, no nothing. Checked the forums and then checked SDC again. Didn't state there was a new version. Meh... As for Zubaz's post above... who cares man. Every one of my threads has me bitching about a shotcoming of something that ties to thi

I try to help you. If that doesn't work, open a ticket here. Have a good weekend. What exactly are you trying to help me with? I don't have an issue with getting WB5.1 installed back after SDC hosed my setup this morning with the "Ghost" version of 5.5.017. I've reinstalled WB5.1 since then without any issues. My gripes are still with SDC (StarDockCentral) not working properly. TO FIX THIS, SD MUST FIX THE SERVERS THAT ARE HANDING THE INCORRECT INF
This is now resolved but because of how SDC works, the 5.1 build will be showing as 5.5 in SDC if you had previously seen it unless the XML gets refreshed on your pc. Incorrect. I've refreshed XML defs and Servers... didn't change. Still shows 5.50.017 as available update since I have 5.10 running. Also uninstalled and reinstalled (yes, the directory was deleted) SDC with same results. SD PHAILED in resolution of this problem. Have
Hello, I installed WindowBlinds 5.10.xxx without any problem today. No sh**, so did I from my WB51 download in email. Thanks for stating the obvious. What's your point, because obviously you don't get what I am stating?
Hello, Try this solution: Okay, the solution is (under Windows XP): - Backup all custom themes - Uninstall WindowBlinds via Stardock Central (choose to delete all themes). - Reboot - Delete this folder: C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds - Flush all files and folders located here: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Local Settings\Temp - Open Stardock Central - Go to Tools --> Settings --> Inter
Download and install the updated SDC and version 5.50.017 will not be there. Version 5.49t (beta) is the latest release and is working fine. I'm running the latest build (based on the fact that SDC always prompts to get updated if there's a new version that comes out... are you saying that this isn't working either? What's new?) The version info on my SDC is 2.38.436 build: 139 is this the latest or not according to what version you are showin
Darken, the problem is not solved. SDC still shows version 5.50.017 when you have 5.10 installed. And installing a 5.49t (BETA version) is not a fix. *Update* Just to clear this up for "closed minded people" since I know it'll come up. If you CLEAR your checkmark to "Show Pre-Release" version you'll see what I mean about the 5.50.017 version still being shown on SDC. If you have Show Pre-Release checked it will show you the BETA version. This is what I meant above when I said I
Deskscapes is ultimate edition specific. Exactly... and even then, who wants a product that takes 50% CPU utilization to make your background animated. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE CAPABILITY, but not if I have to deal with 40-50% or sometimes even higher CPU utilization. Remember folks that some people have laptops and while my laptop can run these features all day long, the battery cannot. So this type of utilization is killing us with battery po
It's not fixed yet... I don't understand why this is so difficult for SD to solve this. You guys have had 9 hours to solve this. Either put the right version of the download on SDC or get rid of the "new version available" for 5.50.017. How hard can this be? God dang it people!!!! BTW, SDC is downloading a wb5.sdc file when you tell it to install the 5.50.017. Asking your service to email me a link to the new version of 5.5 does the same thing... it sends me a link to the 5.10 ver
Is this fixed yet on SDC servers or not? I'm getting tired of installing and uninstalling.
Yep, you read it right. Even when you go to Stardock's Windowblinds page and request an email for the latest version it's handing out 5.10_Enhanced instead of 5.5. Hell of a Friday huh?
When is this going to be fixed?!?!?!?!?!?! Make some calls Neil! If I were you I'd be ranting and raging through the office. I'd make the idiot that made this mistake beg for his life... *note* The above is a joke for those of you who can't read "Sarcasm".
No current version of WB works in 64bit Vista!!!! Everyone clear now? Good...
Do you know of a place to download it? Or will that be too big? Microsoft is doing Windows Marketplace for certain programs. At the moment, you can download a legit copy of Vista Upgrade from places like Circuit City (a US based store). If you have a credit card, I'm sure you can go online and buy it that way. Then download it and use it. Vista is one of the first MS based OSs to be offered in such a way. I'm surprised some of the know-it-alls on th
Thanks Zoomba. At least that puts it to bed. SD should have made an anouncement on Wincustomize to the fact though... especially if they posted an exact date in a previous article. I think people would have gotten mad about the "no show" release (like me) rather then a post stating that it's getting pushed back. At least you're fixing the issues... now one last request... please fix them properly and not in a rushed manner because people are foaming at the mouth to get the release quickly.
Hummm, I'm glad everyone loves me. Anyway, it's 8:15pm now and still no WB5.5 on SDC. So much for that Feb 5 release date posted in a SD article on Wincustomize depicting the release schedule for Vista geared apps. Here's a copy/paste of the article I'm talking about. Your GUI your way: WindowBlinds 5.5 Windows Vista's new look -- Aero, looks awesome. I like it a lot. But I also like to personalize my UI to look how I want it to look. Luckily you can -- with WindowBlinds
Just what the title asks... It's 10:25am on Feb 5 and there's no WB5.5 in sight on the Stardock Central downloads. What up with that yo?
As I have previously explained, this is unlikely to change. Silly question, maybe... maybe not, but "Unlikely to change with WB5.x in XP" or "Unlikely to change with WB5.x in XP or Vista or for that matter in any new version of WB"? Because if it's the later I'd have to ask you why Vista doesn't "natively" have this issue with it's Aero theme.<
Hey guys, I'm sure you might remember my complaints about having a per-pixel skin in WB5.x and then clicking on the title bar of the task manager would cause the task manager to freeze the redraw of itself until you let go of the mouse button. If you don't, try it and you'll see what I'm talking about. Well, it seems that the same can be said about the clock in Windows. If you open up the clock so that you're looking at the analog dial and the calendar and then click the title bar the
This isn't rocket science....but the implimentation of WB functionality within the MS OS is. Hummm, seems to me that WB's main swing into fame is that it uses full MS APIs that are built into the OS to do what it does. Your quote above makes it seem like that statement from Stardock is incorrect and that WB's changes to Windows is being done in
Just calm, down behave civil, and you might get some answers. I'm sorry, I must have missed the posts I made where everything is in CAPS. Or maybe not. Seems to me that you guys seem to be thinking I'm here bouncing off the walls and yelling at my PC as I post. In reality... wth is up with you guys? You have very active imaginations. <br/
Let's find out... develop a program that works, let us know when it's done. Blow me with your short responces that come from someone that's apperently put Stardock on a very high pedistal... but then again... it's your usual way of responding. Thanks for trying. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Bo
^^^ What he said.
wolfgrrl, just buy WB5.1. With that purchase you will get access to Stardock Central and be able to download the 5.49.xx beta version of Windowblinds. Either that or just wait until it comes out in a few weeks. Also, if I were you I'd worry more about updating your RC2 version to the final before I'd worry about putting Windowblinds on it.... 5600 isn't going to run forever. For all the Stardock peeps... are we finally going to get command prompt skinning back in WB5.5 or WHAT?!?! W
