No problem. I just wanted to make sure the problem hadn't resurfaced. Glad to hear that wasn't the case
CodeCritter
Hehe, the space villages were removed in either 1.1 or 1.11 (don't remember which)
The sound level resetting problem has been fixed now. Version 1.2 will include this fix. Thank you all for your help in identifying this bug.
Please send those saved games to gc2bugs@stardock.com so we can look at them. Thank you.
Please update to version 1.11. That problem is fixed in that version. When you reload your game, you may need to back up a few turns before you got to the anomaly, since your saved game will still have the ship on auto-survey. Then you can just turn off auto-survey for that ship. If you go back to a turn before the upgrade, the loop problem shouldn't occur again.
Ok, I'm going to try trading lots of different ships to see if I can reproduce this.
Please also post the portion of the file with your system information. Thank you.
Please post your debug.err file. Thank you.
Try turning down your anti-aliasing setting in the Video tab of the options screen.
If installing from Stardock Central, have you downloaded and installed the Movies module?
Thank you for sending it in. I've received it and am looking into the problem.
This has been fixed for version 1.2. Thank you for reporting it.
What version of the game do you have?
Please post your debug.err file. If you haven't already, make sure your video drivers are up-to-date.
Please download and install SmartException from Stardock Central. Run SmartException, then run Galciv2. When it crashes, SmartException will generate a report that you can email to us at gc2bugs@stardock.com. This report will tell us where it is crashing. For more information on SmartException, please see this link: https://www.stardock.com/products/smartexception/
It's hard to tell from your debug.err what is happening. Do you have a saved game that reliably produces the crash? If so, please send it to gc2bugs@stardock.com. If not, please get SmartException (from Free Stuff in Stardock Central). Run SmartException then run galciv2. When you get a crash, it will generate a detailed report that you can then email to gc2bugs@stardock.com. For more information on using SmartException, please see this link: https://www.stardock.c
Please send your saved game to gc2bugs@stardock.com. Thank you.
If you have a save where the 0 move ships are alive, please send the save. I'd like to look at the ships (what they have on them, req techs, etc ). I have a feeling this line is the culprit: Debug Message: Ship does not have a valid ship class in CalcTotalMoves. Setting moves to 0.
We're looking into this.
Do you have a file called "debug.err" in your galciv2 program folder? This is usually c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2. If it is there, please post the contents of the file here. (You can use Notepad to open it) If it is not there, please try reinstalling the game. If that does not help, let us know.
The debug.err file is located in your galciv2 program folder. This is usually C:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2 Just open the file in a text editor like Notepad, and copy and paste the contents here.
If anyone notices this again, please provide a debug.err file and/or a saved game file (send saves to gc2bugs@stardock.com). There a couple things that might be causing this and seeing the debug.err file would help me to narrow it down. I tried placing a ship way outside of the AI's range and gave it to them. The ship still had moves. Is there something I might be missing? Thanks.
Please try deleting your prefs.ini file. This can be found in your My Documents/My Games/GalCiv2 folder. Deleting this file will revert all of your settings back to their defaults.
Does this happen with every ship? I cannot reproduce this problem. What kind of ships are you trading, and to whom? Could you please post your debug.err file too. Thank you.
Please post your debug.err file. This can be found in your galciv2 program folder. (usually c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2 )
