Icon X using >90% CPU

I posted this over in the newsgroups for Desktop X as well, but thought I would toss it out here too.

Every time I load Icon X, or Desktop X with icons on the screen, I am getting a huge CPU hit. Icon X (or Desktop X) jump up to usually greater than 90% CPU usage. Desktop X runs nice and low as long as there are no icons on the screen, or if I disable Icon X in the config menu. I have toyed around with the settings and it pretty much stays there, no matter what I do. Any ideas?

Specs are as follows:
Win XP Home +SP1 and all critical updates
p4 2.4 GHz CPU
512 DDRRAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 w 64 megs (running Omega drivers version 2.5.51 based on catalyst 4.6)

Thanks.

Heh, treeview tends to use 90% of my processor and like 50 meg of RAM... pretty unrelated to this thread, but hey.

Think we just have to remember some of the software is still in beta-form gliches ae to be expected.

Thanks for the reply. I actually think I figured it out.

For those who may run into the same problem here was my solution.

I remembered reading things about Desktop X and Icon X and the .NET Framework. I also realized I had never downloaded and installed that since it was an optional update. I installed it and viola, Icon X uses 0-1%.

I've tried disabling IconX as well by unchecking the "run at startup" but it still runs at startup! Anyone know how to disable it without uninstalling it?

Sorry I don't have any other ideas for you. Haven't had the problem since I posted my solution.

My IconX does that sometimes too, but it's OK if I run DX with IconX enabled. The new one that comes separate is a little buggy right now I guess.

Nevermind I guess they're using the same version. Whatever . Don't mind me.
