What about a learning process? OK we are not at school, but, in all fairness, even the great masters need feedback. Most of the time they will have a small circle of friends they accept constructive criticism from, and, in this case, if you are a noob to wincusto, what is better than to try to get feedback and tips from skilled people? Isn't that exactly what happened with skinning windows in the first place? So why not for walls?

Lecrayon has a good point. It's fine and well to have messageboard for chit chat and topical issues, etc., but it would also be helpful to a lot of people to have a place to post works in order to get feedback.
Madice had proposed something along this line a while back.
I would like to see more people involved in this sort of helping and sharing of ideas and thoughts.
Koasati started a thread in the Skinning Board called The Un-Official WindowBlinds/SkinStudio Documentation Project. I'm surprised and a little disappointed at how few people have contributed to the thread. I had thought quite a few of the 'oldtimers' would pitch in to pass on tips to the newer skinners.

I think a lot of people don't visit that board on a regular basis. It would be nice if the message boards would default to "All Topics" with the filters in place to access the separate boards at will. A little learning curve... when you post a thread, there is usually a dropdown menu with the names of the board you are addressing. I think people could get used to it easy enough.

I don't see why it would throw the process of moderation out the window. I can't see it affecting the decisions of the admins of what gets accepted. Possibly some works would get improved to the point of being acceptable. Some may never get to that point no matter how much help or advice is given. I don't think there is any doubt some people would be helped by it in their abilities and knowledge.

The thing I see wrong about this thread, is it should have been posted in the Skinning Discussions, not here in General Discussions. Nat can't claim he didn't know about the Skinning board, he was there Sunday, wondering  why his wallpapers weren't on the site yet. (the wallpapers he had uploaded a few hours earlier that day).

For those of you that don't know,.. when your upload is completed, you are presented with a message that informs you it can take up to 5 days for your submission to be processed.

Actually I am in favor of the help section and the skinning section dissappearing. If this (people posting about skinng question) keeps up maybe it will happen!

no no no you misuderstand. it is just easier to read it all on one page instead of three.

give it 15 years and this site will not be a skinning site. It will be a site that has skins but not based on skinning because of radical peoples like me.
