New submission, need comments before I submit... Take it easy on me please...LOL

New submission, need comments before I submit... Take it easy on me please...LOL

Ok I have created another wall paper and this is the theme...

It is called American Omega, I am sure you can see why. I made this purposely dark because all of the cool things you can use for bright icons and the what not. Like a cool wally for a space theme or something. I am open to suggestions to improve this and make it as best I can... Now I do like it currently and am only looking for a couple critiques to make it better, not change it....Originally the sun was completly black with a blue ora, but I decided to give it some depth and ligthing inside of it...

I hope you like, ,, PS7 Wacom and mouse... this is not the full size...

when you say manipulated on PSP what do you mean exactly?

Anything created with a filter can be reproduced via traditional painting processes/methods. A competent artist will not 'need' to resort to filters/plugins...but when they do they will be very wary about its proper 'control', like any other tool in their arsenal of competence...

/me bows out.... this has been a long hard day.... tedious, one might say.

I can respect that, it is pretty much what I believe... You have to master your filters like a brush...

Lens flares are cool! This looks like space sperm penetrating the Van Allen radiation belt.Awesome concept! With a little practice I think you will get pretty good.I was certainly no better when i started.I abused filters worse than you by far.

I mean repainted by hand.....with a mouse....adjusting detail and accuracy that was not as 'simple' in watercolour......the digital medium makes error correction so triflingly easy.

Before claiming the validity/brilliance of one's own work, take a quick look at someone like Nuvem [in particular]...who is a master of traditional media as well as modern 'digital' work/s.....it'll be a sobering experience...and again, Deviantart.com has an extensive selection....sculpture, photo, and digital....

I already knew you were an artist, a REAL artist like me mum...but WOW...PAUL! WOW!

i don't know whether to laugh, cry or take that as a comment or bashing... I think I will laugh because you called it a space sperm penetrating the Van allen radiation belt... Trully inspiring none the less. But, I didn't abuse filters.

here is the filters I used...

1. the sperm like smoke on the astoroid balls, in hindsight guess I should have blurred them down or erased some of the tail...
2. Gausian blur, but that is a must especially when mixing colors...
3. The lens flare of course...
4. The flames on the balls and edge of the bottom scene

I am tired that is all I can think of...

My water effect is not a filter but an effect so you can't cound that.

As it is it will be rejected....and the problem arises that by posting it here on the board it is effectively a way to bypass the moderation process that all others must contend with.

I cannot say I'm all in favour of this at all.

it's all filters, give it up...we can tell

In the meantime...China and me can smother Paul with kisses...

...all in the name of 'art' of course...hehe

/me implores China to put her "watercolor" lipstick on...hehe

No it isn't. I just told you what parts were filters.

Now if you said layers... I would totally agree with you because I do use a hell load of layers. But geez I told you I only used 5 filters... China your kids are cute by the way.. are those your kids? you must be in a mood today...

I am not putting this here to bypass the moderation process, I am putting this here to get feedback from citz and people to let me know what I can improve on.

See that is what I don't like about some of the feedback, not all but some, they just say some crack comment without saying... Hey i see what your idea is with the black sun and astroids, why dont' you do this and it should improve...

Now that would help immensly see what I mean????

It looks too much like filters. Personally, I figure that if something won't look good without filters, it probably won't look much better with filters.

Sirius? That was a dumb comment... Think about it. It is like saying Pamela Anderson looks great without makeup... No she doesn't... and i never say anything without backup...

I worked on a wall...yes just a 'stupid' wall for more than a week...even then I was worried it might not make it in... So I came up with five versions before settling on my final one... What was my wall?...

Orion's View...

The hard knocks here caused me to excel 100 times faster than if someone had coddled me and told me how great I was. After all, why change? Why explore? Why try if everyone is telling you how great and wonderful you are? Especially if THEY see your potential and WANT you to do better? Isn't that a wonderful gift?

I certainly cherish that gift and hold it dear to my heart...it was the kindness and compassion of BoXXi who kept me going when I felt like a total numb-nut.

Sometimes just the encouraging voice of one can help you...I know that it was BoXXi who initially kept me plugging away...(the staff is gonna kick him for that now )!

Ahhhhhhh...but it is nice to have a mentor...isn't it? Seek your mentor...

Perhaps if your wall was as universally acclaimed as 'attractive' as is the case with Ms. Anderson then there wouldn't be a problem...

I like it...

may I ask you how did you do the stars that are diamond type shaped...I was trying to do that...

I think "Pam" looks pretty good w/o all that crap on her
Reply #46 Top
, pointe is, she wouldn't be anything without her "filters" if you know what I mean...

The use of this board for posting moderated walls is something that I feel is unfair to the many other members who take moderation on the chin, or use private e-mail to discuss reasons for moderation or advice on improvements. If all the people who get moderated did this, the message board would be a complete mess. With this in mind, i ask you not to do this again. Thank you.

whew I am pooped and I have to wake up to teach my advanced graphic arts class tommorrow at Harvard....

^^^^^^^That was a joke... I have class tommorrow... I will see you guys then... But see I like this much better because instead of submitting it and feeling bad I can get my knocks and understand that it isn't really worthy of submitting yet.

Thanks and I will continue to try harder.

Yes, I think I get your point...You like crap

Listen, sometimes you guys are too harsh. This is what I mean about cliqeish. This is not harming anyone. What does everything have to be private? If anything I think this should be a dicussion forum on its own for aspiring Noobs that want to improve. I would imagine that anywebsite adores traffic, or am I complety crazy? This thread has about 50 responses in a period of about an hour. To me that is a very positive and good thing for the site. I also submited my piece to deviant and gfxartist.com with the www.wincustomize.com link added into my description.

Sorry but this is more good than bad and anything less would be uncivilized.
