John Titor

For those who do not know who John Titor is, he claimed to be a time traveler from the year 2036. Sound rediculous? I thought so when I first read the story at yellowalien.com (jark from DA's blog site). He posted links to find out more about Mr. Titor, and it does sound very plausable. If he was a fake, then he is a damned genius. His posts were accurate throughout and he was very knowledgable about his job. What kinda scares me is that some of his predictions are kinda comin' true...I dunno if he really was a time traveler or not...you be the judge.

Travels back 36 years in time, and then spends all his time online.
Surely the geek of the future?

Pretty interesting stuff Although nothing truly 'Concrete'

Civil War? Sounds pretty far fetched but ya never know...Only a couple more years, I guess we'll see

Hus...I was looking for 'predictions' that are coming true...Which are you referring to?

Oh! I love this stuff. This story looks like a cross breed between the book "The man who folded himself" (David Gerrold, 1973) and the movie "12 Monkeys" by Terry Gilliam (1995). That movie used a different time model, though. By bringing it to the web it has a "War of the Worlds" feeling to it (although the radio show was much more spectacular).

they already made a movie about it, it's called ...er....umm.... you know, whatever that is with Kevin Spacey... Kozad or Zodac or whatever ... I cant remember.

K-Pax wasn't about a time traveller. It was about an alien from an advanced civilization visiting Earth. It was also based on a trilogy of novels of the same name.

still the same story

If you consider the 'story' to be of a stranger visiting our world and trying to convince a group of people of his origins, then yes I suppose it is. Aside from that, it's completely different though. John Titor claimed to be here to retreive computer equipment and to spread a little knowledge about the events leading to World War III. Prot (the alien in K-Pax) claimed to be here to observe our planet and document the various things he saw.

Sorry to pick holes in your argument, but I can't bear loose threads when they're pertaining to subjects I know about. I just have to cut them off before they unravel...

John Titor wasn't rying to let us know anything infact he was doing just the opposite, not telling us anything, what he was doing here was visiting his parents, trying to prepare them for whatever, and d/ling copyrighted material to take back to the "future" with him.

Zodiaq, in the site I listed above, there is a section on the left-hand side marked 'John's Predictions', read through it to understand what I meant...

In the future there will be no such thing as time travel. If there was to be, we would now be up to our ears in time travellers.

We are all time travelers. I have just successfully traveled in time from yesterday to today in 24 hours!

Thanks Hus...Actually I did read all of that

I guess I'm like everyone else...If the guy said, "On September 15, 2003 at 10:04 a.m., A 7.1 quake would rock L.A." and it happened...I would be more inclined to believe. As it is...Like I said...Nothing 'Concrete' no proof.

Interesting story. Reminds me of a novel by John Grisham called Timeline. He uses the same based on the Wheeler theory of quantic time travel. I recommend it.

I find this stuff fascinating, although I have read some conflicting theories about time travel. One said that you could only travel forwards in time, and that could only be done by breaking down the body into it's molecular components, placing it inside some vessel and then accelerating that vehicle to beyond the speed of light, though it would have to be at least ten times the speed of light to achieve any significant distance in to the future in an acceptable time frame.

Another theory was that even if a time machine was built, you could only go back as far as the moment that first time machine was switched on. All very confusing, but fun nonetheless.

I kinda hope time travel is a reality, at least I might get the opportunity to go back and correct some of the terrible decisions I have made in my life!
