The idiotic postings below about the democratic party.

The idiotic postings below about the democratic party.

You complain about nothing positivey from democrats??!? Maybe you missed the eight years of non-stop whining from the republicans! For eight long years they couldn't get over an ELECTED president they didn't like. Imagine if Clinton's brother had fixed his election, not one republican would ever SHUT UP about it!
EVER!

You want a positive agenda? Try the earned income tax credit that CLinton got passed that lifted millions of Americans who work for a living out of poverty and off welfare. Try the programs that put internet and computers into the vast majority of american schools that we without them. Try the Middle class tax cuts that gave us unpresidented booming stock markets that dwarfed anything before or since. You could try the lowest unemployment in 30 years. Or the first budget surplus on a yearly basis in 36 years. You want positive? Then put a democrat back in charge!

You want negative? Then look around. THree years and we have the highest deficits in the HISTORY of the country. We have lost 3 MILLION jobs in just three years, that never happened any time except the great depression with Hoover. You want negative, the judges you want to call qualified would love to take us back to slavery and a church run society. When your justice dept is run by a man who was fighting to keep Activly bussing black kids across town to stick them in all black schools, you are not an acceptable judge of qualifications.
You want negative, try the blaming of enron's rip off of charging 3000% higher than the highest rates in HISTORY in California on the salmon run like Cheney did. With memo's calling the program "death star" in Enron stationary, Bush said "I don't know Ken Lay". Only texas newspapers from the Gov's term show them buddy buddy as can be. He is a LIAR!@|!!!!
In the 2000 debate Bush claimed he sponsered a bill of rights for patients in Texas, and blabbered on and on about how proud he was of it. HE VETOED IT TWICE!!! And it became law WITHOUT his SIGNATURE! He's a LIAR!! Clear and plain.

You want to talk about the blackout, Fine. Lets talk about how the Grid upgrade was in the budget until BUsh told the gopers to veto it. TWICE! Republicans talk about responsibility, but somehow, when they are in office and everything always goes to hell, they are never responsible for any of it according to them. Let's talk about the fact that the company where it happened, first Energy gave hundreds of thousands to Bush and had massive leaks in their reactor in Ohio
that they barely caught when inspecters came in. The safety record for them is disgusting.
Yet thanks to Bush, the regulaters keep loosening the reigns on them.

Well, if you control all three branches, and the country is in the worst state it's been since the depression, don't tell me you aren't responisible!

You want positive agenda, look at the small business tax breaks Howard Dean gave in VErmont that increased their jobs by 26% over six years. Only his state isn't cutting everything to the bone under Bush. Only his state still has a $10 million dollar surplus to get through.
Across the country, every state run by the GOP is bankrupt. What to the republicans say for themselves? Excuse after excuse. Bill Clinton had one affair, Bush is screwing the whole nation.

From what I understand the Homeland Defense Dept is ready to announced everyone needs to double up on Duct Tape, Plastic Wrap and at least three Tin Foil Hats to be fully protected from Microwave and Radiation in case of a Dirty Bomb or Nuclear attack.

Davidk, I see you try your best to have a balance of views and try to dig for the information by reading a variety of sources, both domestic and foreign, both liberal and conservative.

I, however, still refuse to believe that 9/11 was a Republican conspiracy or an Israeli conspiracy. I believe that it was an act of Al Queda that may not have happened if Clinton had done more to fight terror. I don't believe in a Clinton conspiracy, I just feel that Clinton was indifferent about terrorist threats and foolish enough to think that terrorists can be appeased.

I remember a year ago seeing a Fox News interview with the school teacher that was with Bush when 9/11 happened. Her description of Bush's reaction when he recieved news of the attack did not sound like the kind of reaction that a man that knew ahead of time and was plotting to let it happen anyways would have. The school teacher sounded very sincere and honest when describing the events of what happened in her classroom that morning.

To me, to suggest there was a conspiracy to let 9/11 happen is the same as suggesting that we never went to the moon. Disinformation can be created to prove we never went to the moon and the same can be done to prove that 9/11 was a White House conspiracy.

Not for nothin'...but President's don't write their own speeches. So whatever Bush said that day was not written or thought of by him...he merely acted it out.

I myself think David made some very interesting points, I kinda have a similar theory but his reasons sound more feesable than mine...

I'll always say this about conspiriecies:
If there are any, because of their nature of secretcy and high cover, are doomed to fail.

So even if there was a conspiricy for 9/11 it would not pan out the way the conspiritors would want. Keep in mind also if there is one going one way, there are others going another way. All while avoiding the light of day.

=======================================

As we argue about opions here, I think we should be careful not to say the Replublicans do this while the Democrats do that.

To me it is clear that one side is no better or worst than the other. One side seems more capable to handle spicific issues than another but in the end they all are suppossed to work for me.

So whether I am a Dem or a Rep they all are suppossed to work for me and work together for me.

Done.

I don't want to here about how the Republicans did this... you mean specific people did this that are in the republican party. Same for the Democrats.

I like Bush, but I disagree with allot of his policies. Piticularly toward the UN. Does that make me a bad Republican? or does that make me a conserned citizen?

I have heard all kinds of conspiracy theories on various events in history. After the exposure to all kinds different conspiracy theories, I can only conlude that 99% of conspiracy theories are complete bunk and that anything can be proven.

I think that in most cases the people who create conspiracy theories do not believe in the theories they create themselves. For example, I believe that the "we never made it to the moon" conspiracy theorists only came up with that theory to sell books. If you ever go to their websites, they don't have much information posted about their theory. Their sites are mostly a advertisement for their books with links to Amazon to purchase online.

American TV news has become nothing but soundbites and distraction.

I couldn't agree more, David.
For the most part, mainstream news has become more of an opinion piece that reporting. I would suggest this stems from the bleeding over of entertainment into news. There's always the fight to get 'the' story, ratings, etc. Sometimes it seems the goal is the flashiest, most controversial the better. The sad part is I suspect a very large part of the population takes what is 'reported' as fact.
Whether I agree with your politics or not, at least you take the time to get as many sources as possible, sift through it, and form your own opinion. Something I also do and wish more people would do as well. Unfortunately, a lot of people hear one news story or one source and it becomes 'fact' for them.

One thing I've noticed is the most accurate story you will get is usually the first hour or two after an event. That's when you'll hear witnesses interviewed and see footage that hasn't been altered, sometimes not even edited. After a couple hours you start seeing the story change, the raw footage is never seen again and the 'experts' descend to tell you what 'really' happened which may be very different from what you saw and heard. It's called damage control. In a lot of cases the final version that's repeated over and over is missing a lot of the original details.

For example, when Hinckly shot Ronald Reagan, there was a final analysis produced by a company called I-Tech. They said after carefully analyzing the footage it was clear that Reagan was shot in the left armpit when he was waving to the crowd. That was a lie, but it was understandable. Reagan was shot when he was diving into the car. It was a glaring hole in the safety of those bullet proof limos. In between the door and the car's body was a large opening. Examining the original footage, frame by frame, it was easy to see which bullet hit Reagan. The gun was actually in the frame and you could follow each shot to it's victim. That's a case where censoring the footage made sense.

There are plenty of other instances where it seems more like a coverup than security. There was lots of damage control (and still is) surrounding the coverage of 911, the Oklahoma City bombing and a few other stories. The obviousness and style of the redirected facts raises red flags. It doesn't necessarily prove a conspiracy but it does raise questions. When there is an official refusal to address those questions that raises another red flag. If you see enough red flags in a news story, chances are you're watching something getting swept under the rug.

Conspiricy theories are really good for confusing an issue, creating a smoke screen and generally drawing attention away from the real 'thruth'.
As for the 'truth'... the only people who know the real facts behind any form of 'Black Op' say nothing .... meanwhile the disribution of 'misinformation' is a valid tactic favoured in covert operations.
Properly conducted and executed no single person involved knows 100% .... this also helps if a decision needs to be made to go to a 'Wet Op'.
There are plenty of genuine 'conspiricies' to contend with, but you have no chance of sorting the real ones from the fakes.
The 'Cold War Warrior' remains alive and well ....

"That's the thing about conspiracy theories: in a comforting sort of way, they give rise to the feeling that someone, somewhere, knows what's going on." — Glenn Reynolds

DavidK, they knew and allowed it to happen.
The US government DID NOT let 9/11 happen. There were intelligence reports suggesting something like 9/11 happen but there was not enough information to prevent it. The reports could not predict when it would happen and how the terrorist acts would be carried out. 9/11 was a suprise attack. I am sick and tired of conspiracy theorists suggesting that Bush knew and/or Israel was involved. These conspiracy theorists need to find something more constructive to do than create theories to sell books to make money off of.

Any 9/11 conspiracy theory that suggests that Israel was in anyway involved in either committing the attack itself or letting it happen is anti-semitic.

I think that history will hold the answers as they are released, if they are released.
I do not even begin to *trust* this administration, but at the same time I do not follow
along with nor nurture crack pot conception either.

We as a nation do not have all of the answers, even those which should be given without
smoke screens, lies and innuendo.

I do feel that all those concerned knew something was going to happen and the possibilities
of what those things might be and did nothing to change it. I also feel that there was some
real problems revolving around that second tower not being empty after the first jet hit,
let alone the first tower.

I know that just 4 months before 9/11 I told my son exactly what I would do if I wanted to bring
those towers down and that is exactly what was done. If I can figure out something like that I
would hope that those charged with protecting this nation had done the same thing long before.

The only difference in what I explained to my son was that I mentioned the two Airports right
there in the local area. But the affect was the same, the jets were full of fuel.

............

People spoke about being *shocked* and I was left asking *why*?

There is a claim that we are now being protected and terrorists are being cut off from attacking
us and such which I believe is a load of crap. When they want to hit us again they will and there
is not a single thing we can do to stop it because we are supposed to be an open society. They walk
among us, hell in some cases they are multiple generation Americans.

Doom and gloom of it is, we find ourselves taking our first baby steps of the third world war which
everyone will eventually be involved in across all continents.

We are stuck between a rock and a hard place because we can not just kill them all. They will not ever stop coming and we can not bow to them either. What we are left with is learning how to not only show but prove to them that there are other solutions instead of killing and maiming. We also have to work on our foreign policies, work on being a functional part of the world and they need to work on working with us.

Did you know that a subsidiary of Bayer that made a drug added to blood for Hemophiliacs was found to be tainted with HIV. The whole stock pile of the product was tainted and to avoid the monetary loss because they could not sell it in the US for treatment. They sold it in France, Germany and Africa fully knowing it would spread AIDS and that it would Kill. Do you also know that something like 89% of the ones who were treated and given AIDS from this are children?

Not one of those who made these deals in the USA is in jail or has been to court, our government has done nothing. Yet the ones in France who were a part of the deals are in Prison.

So tell me, with this and many other examples out there. Why should people like, trust or respect the US Government?

Now a step further, the Government is seen as the citizens, hell we claim it is by and of the people.

Why do you think they hate Americans?

Back on the topic of cTheories, no I do not just fall into and wallow in them but I also know there is some factual information even in the worst, much of the time it is all twisted inside out and you have to unravel it.

I don't trust the US government entirely, but at the same time I refuse to blindly accept any conspiracy theory that those just trying to sell books tries to make me a believer of. People who spend to much time coming up with conspiracy theories or trying to find evidence to support conspiracy theories need to get a life. Conspiracy theories are for paranoid people who wear tin foil hats.

Since a number of Arab nations are descended from Shem, as well as modern day Jews, they too would fall under the generic term 'semitic peoples'. Would it then follow that to blame the members of those Arab nations that actually did committ those horrid acts be anti-semitism?

By the term "anti-semitic", I mean anti-Jewish. Here is Dictionary.com's definition: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=anti-semitic

To blame the actual terrorist organization and the members of the organization that committed this act is not anti-Arab, but to place blame on all Arabs is anti-Arab.

The greatness of Reagan…
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Ronald Reagan in his presidency was attacked by the left, he was depicted as a warmonger, they claimed he would start world war three with his warlike posture. The fear mongering of the Democratic Party lead to many cartoons and jokes in the media, most of these jokes depicted Reagan as a leader constantly carrying a “button” to end the world with nuclear weapons at a whim.

The left were not gentle or respectful about his private life either, Reagan used a term of endearment when he was with his wife Nancy, and he called her “mommy” as you could imagine this took off with the leftist defamation machine. Liberals would attack Reagan’s intelligence; they would say things like Ronald Reagan, a man who can’t tie his own shoes who calls his wife Mommy.

Ronald Reagan’s supply side economics and trickle down theories stand as one of the most effective economic policies of the 20th century, Ronald Reagan ended the cold war by bankrupting the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, and this record will stand no matter how the revisionists dislike it or try to change it. When the wall came down in Berlin it was clear that Reagan made things happen, he believed in action not inaction.
Reagan once said “this is my microphone and I paid for it so turn it back on.”

George Bush attacked by the left in much the same way….
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

George Bush has been attacked exactly as Reagan was, the left claim Bush is a warmonger and they attack his intelligence .
Bush says things that are very blunt at times and he gets attacked for his Texas roots, he gets a lot of press calling him a cowboy. He uses terms like “smoke em out of their holes” “darn good intelligence” and “bring em on.” The left do not like his cowboy image, he also uses terms that leave nothing to the imagination like “wanted dead or alive.”

The left will try to revise anything they can, they make no sense in their arguments such as this, on one hand according to them Bush is a blood lustful oil baron killing Arabs for oil, on the other hand they claim Bush is bankrupting the country in a Vietnam style quagmire. So which is it? Is Bush a dumb idiot who is trashing our economy, or is he a smart evil oil baron who will get lucrative contracts for America? As you can see that popular argument is a contradiction, therefore they cancel each other out.

I am convinced that the Bush administration will look under every rock will cut off any finance will deny any safe harbor will seize any assets, will do anything humanly possible to sever intelligence communications, will hunt down and track terrorists across the globe until the capture or killing of all the wanted is complete. The terrorists would like to attack America again, but one thing I have noticed is that they haven’t attacked lately. Not only are the terrorists being hunted under Bush administration , a politically risky undertaking is occurring in Iraq to bring a new stability to the region, a very good investment for America and the world, imagine a free Iraq with democratic elections, located in the center of the terror web, free from terrorist elements with a government friendly to the free world, giving this and future administrations the ability to police terrorist nations like Iran, Syria, and to some extent Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
