The idiotic postings below about the democratic party.

The idiotic postings below about the democratic party.

You complain about nothing positivey from democrats??!? Maybe you missed the eight years of non-stop whining from the republicans! For eight long years they couldn't get over an ELECTED president they didn't like. Imagine if Clinton's brother had fixed his election, not one republican would ever SHUT UP about it!
EVER!

You want a positive agenda? Try the earned income tax credit that CLinton got passed that lifted millions of Americans who work for a living out of poverty and off welfare. Try the programs that put internet and computers into the vast majority of american schools that we without them. Try the Middle class tax cuts that gave us unpresidented booming stock markets that dwarfed anything before or since. You could try the lowest unemployment in 30 years. Or the first budget surplus on a yearly basis in 36 years. You want positive? Then put a democrat back in charge!

You want negative? Then look around. THree years and we have the highest deficits in the HISTORY of the country. We have lost 3 MILLION jobs in just three years, that never happened any time except the great depression with Hoover. You want negative, the judges you want to call qualified would love to take us back to slavery and a church run society. When your justice dept is run by a man who was fighting to keep Activly bussing black kids across town to stick them in all black schools, you are not an acceptable judge of qualifications.
You want negative, try the blaming of enron's rip off of charging 3000% higher than the highest rates in HISTORY in California on the salmon run like Cheney did. With memo's calling the program "death star" in Enron stationary, Bush said "I don't know Ken Lay". Only texas newspapers from the Gov's term show them buddy buddy as can be. He is a LIAR!@|!!!!
In the 2000 debate Bush claimed he sponsered a bill of rights for patients in Texas, and blabbered on and on about how proud he was of it. HE VETOED IT TWICE!!! And it became law WITHOUT his SIGNATURE! He's a LIAR!! Clear and plain.

You want to talk about the blackout, Fine. Lets talk about how the Grid upgrade was in the budget until BUsh told the gopers to veto it. TWICE! Republicans talk about responsibility, but somehow, when they are in office and everything always goes to hell, they are never responsible for any of it according to them. Let's talk about the fact that the company where it happened, first Energy gave hundreds of thousands to Bush and had massive leaks in their reactor in Ohio
that they barely caught when inspecters came in. The safety record for them is disgusting.
Yet thanks to Bush, the regulaters keep loosening the reigns on them.

Well, if you control all three branches, and the country is in the worst state it's been since the depression, don't tell me you aren't responisible!

You want positive agenda, look at the small business tax breaks Howard Dean gave in VErmont that increased their jobs by 26% over six years. Only his state isn't cutting everything to the bone under Bush. Only his state still has a $10 million dollar surplus to get through.
Across the country, every state run by the GOP is bankrupt. What to the republicans say for themselves? Excuse after excuse. Bill Clinton had one affair, Bush is screwing the whole nation.

I agree with kona... what really bugs me is the absurd propaganda that gets posted in the name of political parties. Shameful lies with no point other than to convince everyone that our government is doing the best it can for the people, while the needs of the people are dead last in any political agenda. Corporations rule politics, and it's their desires that get fulfilled.

Meanwhile there are real, urgent issues and needs that get ignored (or in Bush's world, sabatoged). Safe drinking water, clean air, food, education, health care, somehow the government can't afford to address these things. They have 400 Billion dollars to spend on the military but not a mere 1 million to keep our federal nuclear watchdog agency in place. Bush wants to cut another 200 million out of his own education package which he started cutting the budget for only weeks after signing it. No child left behind was just a campaign scam. States are taking painful measures to cut education, wlefare and services because of the lack of federal programs. Roads are going unrepaired, police and fire departments are being decimated, libraries are closing and jobs are evaporating while the feds spend our children's and grandchildren's future with unprecedented deficit spending.

Politicians are con artists, they're only in it for their own personal gain, no matter what the cost in lives. The wealthy elite that run the two parties in the US would have you believe we are in danger and we need them to protect us when the only real danger comes from their manipulation of world events.

People need to pay attention, get informed about the truth, not the spin and drivel you get from the corporate controlled TV news. Read foriegn newspapers, read books, talk to people about what's happening. We're being sold a huge lie and the end result will be an impoverished and desperate population wondering where the hell America's values and freedoms went.

lol @ kona

Come on people. If you don't like to talk about politics then just ignore this thread and leave the people who like to discuss it in peace. This thread's title gives a very clear warning sign to what kind of posts you can expect to read. Why complain about having to read all these posts when you could have avoided them in the first place.

Tech Cat can't wait until they finally implement special topic sections for the message board. Maybe that will put and end to or at least reduce all the "don't talk about this here" crap.

kona: Who is not being a Democrat or a Republican a solution? Being a member of a third party is still being a member of a political party? What do you do to part of the solution?

What do you do to part of the solution?

for one thing my party believe in keeping religion and God in the us constitution, and in law. Another thing, we believe that you will never take away our guns. Or our rights.

quite simply i am doing my part by not supporting republicans or democrats.
Um we Republicans are pro-religion and pro-gun. It sounds like to me this constitution party is just a small clone of the Republican party. I am a conservative Republican that does not consider liberal Republicans like John McCain to be real Republicans. If I had my way, I would kick John McCain out of the party and tell him to go join up with his liberal Democrat friends.

A vote for anyone other than Democrat or Republican only gives the election to a republican. Al Gore would have become president in 2000 if Nader didn’t strip him of so many votes, at the end of the day Nader was really working for the bush campaign.

Some of these messages are showing me that posting sensible messages with thoughtful articles to back up my beliefs is a waste of time so I will not upset anyone by posting any thing further at this time. It is not really about who is right or wrong but who is responsible, and who should be held accountable for certain policies, good or bad that is where the debate comes in. The Ideology of the two parties is like apples and oranges; I think it is safe to say there will be another four years of Bush because of nine reasons.

yeah good idea AR, why waste your time, that's never a good idea, and frankly your ditto head propoganda has been making me feel ill. So you can stop wasting your time and I can start reading the message board again without feeling like I'm gonna hurl.

The liberal left throws out their fair share of propaganda too. Liberal propaganda and "vast right-wing conspiracy" theories make me sick.

I would like to remind people that, even though this is a skinning site, it is still permissible to post about other topics.  However, it is still not acceptable to flame other people.  If you don't like the topic, then stay out of the conversation.

Stardock newsgroups on news.stardock.com has a politics thread if anyone is interested.  Even though it is on a software newsgroup, they still seem to be able to stay mature and *discuss* topics.  Maybe we can take their lead here, too?

I bet Tim Robbins is your favorite actor; he hires heavily armed body guards and then tells the rest of citizens to drop dead when we try to carry our own gun for self defense, another hypocrite like Grosie O'Donnell.

Timmy is also pitching a fit because all the Hollywood actors didn’t join him in his anti American, anti war against terrorism, anti capitalism, anti gun, anti religion, agenda.

Funnier than this clown, is his wife, singing we shall overcome at a protest and then leaving in a limo, how disingenuous, overcome what? Getting bad seats at the academy awards?

It may well be permissable, but I just don't get it really....................... I wouldn't go to a political furom, start a thread about skinning, and expect it to be well received. ( And you can't have a debate when the thread title is insulting to some)  But you're right Angie, and I'm not reading anymore of this one ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I myself subscribe to the chicken wing conspiracy. Colonel Sanders was only a front man for the real powers behind the original and extra crispy.

#65 by Tech Cat - 9/2/2003 6:03:10 PM what politcal boards do you like to post at?

All the boards are pretty much filled with DNC one liners like Bush = Hitler and that kind of thing because the elections are coming up soon. The boards do have interesting debates from time to time like the debate on N Korea that was in Yahoo just recently. All the Dems backed off because of the black and white proof there is about how Clintons policies failed as he caved in to demands to supply N Korea with billions of dollars in raw materiel in 1994…so we were able to really discuss that issue and others and some of the guys there were real smart, one of them pointed something odd out to me.

We started talking about how the Rangers in Somalia were sent in without armor and if it weren’t for the Pakistanis coming to the fight with Pakistani armor the rangers would have been overrun, this guy said something that never really dawned on me until then. He said, “The funny thing about the fact is that our guys in Somalia didn’t have the armor they needed, but Reno’s ATF had plenty of armor to kill Koresh.” That fact never dawned on me until then, its kind of ironic.

I just wander through here to keep an eye on decorum being observed....other than that, I find Political debate falsely inflates the 'importance' of politics in our lives......like death and taxes it's just something we are destined to endure....
