I want my money back for the months that I have not yet used which sould be about 1 1/2 years. If you are going to continue to remove my account than that is what I want. Not only am I not satisfied with WC but this is beyond what I would think you (whoever you is) would do. I don't care who I have to talk to but I will not stop until I get that. I vested my money here and if I get removed again, something will and needs to be done.

Nobody removed your account GA. This is a perfect example of a situation that could be solved by contacting an admin but instead becomes an accusation on the message board.

hmmmm....I just tried them and neither work for me. Maybe it's the discussion that has us all in the wrong state of mind. I apologize if I am wrong but at the same time I feel that I am being squashed for expressing what many people feel. Isn't there a happy medium? A resolution that we all can agree with? I know I have no say on the operation of this site but given the circumstnaces and the popularity of the wallpaper section, I would strongly suggest that we settle this where both the artist and the site....and the community as a whole gains.

For the record...I've been and AM currently MIA to get my head straight and to take a SERIOIUS chill pill and to get back to being friends with someone I care about because we lost sight of our friendship and we needed to put both our EGOS aside.

Hmm. I deleted my stuff but I know better than to think that hurts WC...and that was never my intent because I still love WC and many members and admins who are here too. The only person who gets hurt by deleting their stuff here is the person deleting their stuff unless they feel a valid reason for it in one form or another and are not doing it out of anger or spite or maliciousness (which yes, OH YES, I've done it that way and regretted it but *this is NOT one of those times*)…

The thing with me was...I started to ask myself...why do I need all my stuff here for so long after it dwindles down to nothing in downloads? Is it *really* for posterity or for my ego to say *look what I've done*... I felt a bit ashamed and disgusted with myself but this was because I already had a website I could keep my *stuff* at for supposed *posterity* and I'd let my ego steer me way off course here. I had unwittingly let my EGO get in the way of having fun and sharing and making stuff for the heck of it. Oh I most certainly worked hard on what I did and I took it a little *too* seriously...I wanted some sort of respect and that was my mistake...I needed to lighten up and not get so damned sensitive. When a project becomes your "BABY" it can be damned hard to look at it without prejudice or *hopes* that people will want it. I have never sought a career in the graphic arts world...for me it was always for learning and fun. I loved doing "traditional" art since I can remember and "Computer art" was a fun new world for me.

Jafo, I hope you don't hold it against me that I removed my library after you helped me to reinstate it...for that I feel some pangs of much-deserved guilt as I'm sure you had *better* things to do.

Yes, people have hurt my feelings...some intentionally but most NOT intentionally as I see it now and most of the people that did that were NOT admins...just other members who like to stir up the pot.

I've made my share of stupid posts...things I'd regretted for being so damned QUICK with the submit rather than thinking it out or even SLEEPING on it. Then things get out of hand and people get pounced on...I know how it feels...it doesn't feel good but people find themselves in the "FOR or AGAINST" camps and that is a genuine shame.

For me, I realize that creativity and having an outlet doesn't mean I need my name signed on it...if it comes from my heart and a bit of sweat ()...and someone enjoys it...that's a wonderful thing and good enough for me.

I miss participating here but I still need to chill out... I guess I'm trying to grow and that means taking a few steps back from myself and looking inside to see what the heck I'm really wanting to do with my online activities. My personal website is wayyyyyyy behind…talk about lazy!

I'd like to say warm hello to all of the Admins and to all of the users and fellow artists and skinners and friends here who have made this place a fun and good and decent place to be.

I would also like to apologize from the bottom of my heart for any mischief I ever caused by my own threads from time to time…for the most part I tried my best to do right by wincustomize because I loved the nurturing aspect to my artistry and even when I got hurt I knew for the most part that there were mostly good intentions here and those intentions served me VERY well and helped me to grow not just as an artist/skinner/contributor but as a PERSON.

I'm happy today...and though I miss it here I still need time out to be a regular ol' plain Jane again. The nobody_gurl.

I do have a teensy suggestion…and that is just a silly one maybe but for folks like me who need to take an extended leave of absence via vacation or whatever…it would be kinda neat if we had an icon showing we are not available for replies or comments to our works. That’s one reason I also deleted because I needed to just stay away and I don’t like leaving people hanging and thinking I don’t ***CARE*** which I do very much so.

GA: How can there be a happy medium in which you immediate think the worst of us for a logon problem?

In the 3 year history of this site, I cannot think of a single instance where we have removed an account (it would have to be done via SQL on the backend, there is no way to do it). The worst that can happen is exile which would hav eallowed you to logon still.

So if your first reaction is to compare us with Hitler or whatever, what middle ground can there be?

On the one hand, your entire mateiral argument apparently rests on the fact that I don't care about whether we have a wallpaper section or not. And somehow from that we get compared with Nazis and such (which was, let's be  candid, was your inference) as the next step.

This isn't a case where we've done some wrong and you've said some wrong things. We feel abused too.

We are all volunteers in a community.  Moderators and Admins volunteer their time and energy to the community. Artists volunteer their content. Yet somehow, we are expected to treat artists as "customers".  What gets ignored is that we're volunteers too.

What would happen to this communtiy if Jafo or DavidK jsut threw in the towel everytime someone abused them? They take a lot of crap from people and where' s the "fairness" to them?

Or even myself. It's Sunday night. Do you think I'm being paid to participate in this little melodrama?

As for your account, just tell me what email address you want it to use and I'll change it to that so that you can have it send you your password. As others have said, your account has not been touched.

 

No my concern is the messageboard and the way people are treated there. I've already said that if I needed proof then I should have copy and pasted stuff for a while so that you may see. I will do that starting tomorrow. I will try my best to show every instance where not only members but admins and moderators treat each other like crap and nothing is done for those that truly get it good the members. If that is what will take you to see what I am saying then thats fine. The problem with the wallpaper library will never be fixed because it is moderated. You will always have someone who feels cheated or those that feel that their latest work looked better then the next guys. My way of thinking is "Hey that's the name of the game" but is that the best way to do it? Maybe...or maybe not.

this entire thread, along with the others like it, amuse me to no end. i'd like to think that most of you folks are mature adults. maybe i'm wrong in that assumption. if i am and you're actually children, then i apologize. anyway, it seems to me that if a mature adult has a problem with the site, an email to frogboy or one of the moderators would be the approach to take. posting rants on a message board reminds me of when my kids were much younger and did childish things to draw attention. granted, they were children at the time. if you, for any reason, do like like wincustomize, please do the mature thing and leave without coming back every few minutes to post as to how much you despise the place. that having been said, if you leave and take your bodies of work, i'm sure there are a few pieces of work that i'll probably wish i had. but, if you are indeed a mature adult, act like it. take care of complaints in private, not public. and yes, i am fully aware that i have the option of reading or ignoring threads such as thie one. it is somewhat difficult to ignore these threads when they are more abundant than others. please, folks, be adults.

That's where I am too. What exactly is the problem that needs to be resolved?

Thus far we have a handful of wallpaper artists who have removed their stuff can publicly proclaimed they are going to another website to post their stuff. Their nebulous reasons is that they don't think wallpaper artists get enough respect.

That's their right but I don't see a problem that can be solved here. We're not getting rid of moderation. If we did, the wallpaper section would be soon full of gazillions of awful walls. We get dozens of wallpaper submissions per day.

I don't consider moderation disrepectful.

What I do consider disrespectful are people who treat volunteer moderators and admins as servants. Lady A's post was the most succint -- we're a restraunt and should provide a "service". The ones providing that service woudl hence be the volunteer moderators. Why should they become subservient to wallpaper artists. Equality isn't enough?

I guess this discussion is done with and over. I expressed my opinion and that's all it was. I spoke on behalf of several (and I do mean several) people who are discontent. If nothing else, this has been a heavy load on my shoulders since I try to steer clear of "making trouble" which you clearly are making this out to be. My account was removed.....and if it wasn't it was because someone demoted me and the system screwed up when I tried logging back in.

Either way, that to me is an insult because that is the least I would expect from anyone of you. I suppose if you feel nothing is wrong that is your prerogative. I may one day contribute again but not in the state things are here.
