Listen I can't skin worth a Sh--. But sheesh. Over the last few weeks I've had to rub my eyes and clean my glasses when checking out some of the new admissions here at Wincustomize. And what's up with all these wallpapers being posted here of all these glob, drippy, distorted, mucous, exploding, gumby shaped thingies. These are so overdone. And Wincustomize says "The finest collection of Wallpapers on the Internet!", I don't think so. One only has to go to >>>>> http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/ for that. Now before you all go getting your geco panties in a wad let it be known that I've been visiting Wincustomize since the beginning, I've purchased WinFX, WB, OB, many of the skin suites if not all and I was a Object Desktop subscriber since last year(plan on renewing next month). My intent is not to insult any of the skinners or Wincustomize. I just like great skins, walls etc. And for those who are going to tell me to leave... Uh Huh I'm gonna stay. I never said I didn't like it here, I just think things have gotten away from Wincustomize's original Sprirt. And for those of you who are gonna say what do you want for free. Sure I've downloaded skins for free, but I believe I've purchased every skin suite from Stardock/Wincustomize also from Pixtudio so I'm not a freeloader. Let's just watch the uploads people.

GA: Yes, I DID promote you a while ago, on the strength of your submissions to the site. I didn't demote you, but, as your submissions now total one screenshot, you can hardly expect to be allowed the higher access, regardless of any messageboard posts. I too, still don't know what the problem is that has made you remove your stuff and create all this angst in here!  It's quite sad really, this is supposed to be a fun place.

Uhhh, no. I have the access of a subscriber.....at least that wasn't taken away. Sheeesh, you spew just about as much angst as I did concerning the matters at hand.

Being a citizen is not the point of it.......it's that you have that power over people to do it and then not have the minerals to say you did.

I also have the "minerals" to remove posting access since posting is a priviledge, not a right. And not part of your subscription. 

I have removed that priviledge until you are willing to send an apology for your behavior (such as accusing us of removing your account amongst your various other unpleasant statements).

You are a guest. Woudl you go to someone's house and treat them as you have treated us? I doubt it.

That was not very nice. Why try to stir up trouble?

I've been kinda absent from the message board for a few days. It seems there is more and more of that kind of remark lately. I'm not trying to pick on NapalmedDove, it was just the most recent example I saw. I don't know, maybe that's normal for message boards on other skinning sites, but it doesn't seem productive. For me, that kind of thing just gets everyone away from what it is all supposed to be about.

I don't care so much about the moderation. I've had walls moderated that I realized later weren't that good. I've had walls moderated that I thought were very good. Well that's the way it goes. I have supreme confidence in my ability to create and that doesn't change.

I do care about having a community; specifically a community revolving around an artistic endeavor. I like to skin. I like to create walls. Heck, I write and draw and paint as well. And I like to be involved with people that do the same. I don't like when I see someone ask a question related to skinning/art issues and the next 4 or 5 messages are full of accusations about the 'motive' behind the question.

I really would like to see this sorted out.

i was here nearly from the founding of this site. there are always a few people who see themselves as being more equal than others. when they don't get their way, they leave. as martha stewart would say 'it's a good thing.'

If I had my way we'd be probably even more aggressive with the moderation...but then perhaps run the risk of having the selection really dominated by personal taste....[then 90% of the Bryce and Terragen would hit the cutting room floor....no more torus's....no more mountains rising out of oceans....AND no more dolphins [YAY!!!]]....

I am still slightly amuzed that people think they will be treated better on other sites showing this sort of attitude. (Like shouting 'Conspiracy!' with every event that doesn't please them and so on...) I really would suggest to read much of other messageboards/forums first before complaining here... I've seen things... Oh and struggling with the admins is even more dangerous on other sites, which are really elitist... (Won't name them, but 2 posts and getting thrown out after disagreeing with an admin that was stating lies that could be proven very easily was a new thing for me...)

In every large community site you will have flaming posts. Including DA, DM, AU, SB, etc. For a site with 700K+ (what's the actual number lately?) registered users, I think WC is doing fine. Considering that large number one would assume that there should be a lot more lunatics spamming the board. It looks like the number is relatively low. Probably because the avarage age tend to be a bit higher and people are a bit more mature.

Lately a small group with loud voices is leaving. Maybe we have some more rumbles in the next couple of days, but finally they will forget WC. Afterall, why visit a site that one hates?

I do not see what everyone is fighting about. I have been treaded VERY GOOD AND FAIRLY since I have been here. The admins could have exiled me long ago before I strightned up but gave me another chance. All I care about is being able to come here everyday. it is a privledge for me. So i do not see why people are flameing the admins. Everyone needs to take a step back from their computers and think about things for awhile. I love this place.
