'Gay'

'Gay'

gay [Homosexual] /gei/ adj. infml - HOMOSEXUAL

gay /gei/ n. [C] infml

gay [Happy] /gei/ adj. dated (of a person) happy, or (of a place) bright and attractive.

OK....so, if 'gay' is used, along with > as a comment on a wallpaper, etc, it is clearly none of these meanings but is, in fact, the modern childish derogatory colloquial that equates 'gay' [or homosexual] as sub-standard in some way, and is intended as a comment expressing displeasure.

However, what it ACTUALLY IS, is a self-declaration of the commenter's immaturity and lack of communicative vocabulary.
It is also inappropriate, and grounds for Exiling/exclusion from participating on this site.

Think most people use the worth 'gay' positive, as a good comment...
btw: what is the use of negative comments when they have VOMIT icons and stuff?

Who cares what Kona Did? You guys need to QUIT taking stuff out of porportion. I'm sick of it. So heres what Kona's gonna do: Laugh at every one who has a PC and gets that "Blue creen of Death" because Kona has a G4 Mac now. And Kona is gonna run XP on it. Two words: Unix based.

BTW why is everyone yelling at me? I never attacked anyone here.

Grow up people.

thank you ss. some people think that only disparaging comments over 'certain' comments made 'extra bad and evil' by political lobbyists groups should be dealt with harshly and the responsible parties made to 'pay dearly' because those words came out.

SS I agree with you. I can find dozens of negative comments on the message boards that the person who made them wasn't held accountable. It's funny that this little three lettered word causes so much trouble. Get real. others have cussed, been warned, and still cus. Some people have done personal attacks more than once and they are still here. And then there's the people who advertise here or display waraz sites but they haven't been exiled either.

If this three lettered word causes this much trouble, what would the word abortion or ignorant do?

Best just to leave these words alone.

As George Carlin once said " There's no such thing as bad words, just bad thoughts."

@Wommers:
No offense taken bro.
It just seems this thread has become pick on Kona thread.
Nuff Said.

I think negative comments have some 'wisedom' BUT only if they are like this:
Nice skin, only you should do this, or fix that...
when people just say: ugly!! stupid skin, what kind of ****** is this!!! (insert 10 vomit icons here)
- comments like that dasn't make sence.
When you look closer at this users you will see they don't have any skins made theirself so don't respect ANY effort that is taken.

Ignorant comments are way more different than racial ones.

This "quote" from Kona kinda sorta explains why he is being "picked on".

Once again, the problem with using the word "gay" to describe a wallpaper is not so much an offense on the wallpaper or artist (I would never take it as such, I'd probably reply "I'm glad my wallpaper makes you happy"), but the main problem is tat since it's usually meant as a synonym to "bad", it really is an insult to the gay community.
Just as we would not accept an insult to any cultural community, we won't accept that one either. Using the word "gay" as a subtitute for "crappy" is equivalent to saying "Gay people are second rate citizens". Which we would never accept.

That's the bottom line.

easy to fix that paxx, next time somebody use gay in a comment at a wall, and the admins thinks the wall is crappy kick the user

I just want to throw in my two cents like always... i don't have a problem with gay people, and many of they don't think of gay as derogitory, they often refer to themselves as gay. However this is meant in a derogatory way, any comment put in such a fashion has no place on anyone's work. It's not polite, and it's not fair, because the work here is all good, and no one has a right to say that the work is bad(or GAY).

I can't say that all the work is 'all' good. There is a definite line from an outstanding artist to more novice one's. I love the lines though because you get a variety of styles and imaginitive work. It's like saying that trapped in Bryceworld is as good as one of Nuvems......ain't gonna happen (yeah yeah I know it was a sick joke of Jafo's but it fit my opinion )
, but to say someone's work is Gay, or make a bad comment about, what does that do, alot of work goes into anything submitted here, and that makes all of the work good. Hard work and sacrifice should pay off at wincustomize, people should have respect for the work done, and make polite comments, out of respect for the time and effort that goes into them.

I certainly agree with you, remarks like that are rude, crude, obnoxious and entirely uncalled for (and undeserved as well).
