So, I was just talking to one of my friends on IM. She said she'd "brb" because she had to put her puppy out. When she came back, I asked her what kind of puppy it was. She said "it's a little huskie." I said "Well, maybe you're feeding it too much." I don't care who you a

So, today at work (seems like so many of my articles start with that phrase) I got to rake the ditch. Those of you who have winters know how much garbage piles up in the snow over the season. Then, come Spring, the snow melts and 6 months worth of dirt and cigarette butts and Subway cups sifts to ground, where some unlucky shlub has to rake it up. Actually, I didn't m

Ted, is the Adopt a Trail program like the Adopt a Highway, where you clean up the litter and stuff? That's a good program. One of the problems in Kiribati is that the coral reefs have become polluted, to the point where trash just gets stuck in the reef and no one cares. I was thinking already, when I go over there, that I should set up something like that. Adopt a Beach or something...it would be a nice way to build community, don't ya t

Ted...totally awesome. My personal favorite is when the flow is sooooooooo good, like: "to some rules and regulations, we seek higher elevations, persuasive motivations far from burdensome obligations, erase them...." Love those quick, in your face rhymes.

Stargazer: Chris...please repost this as a poem.....(spacing only a suggestion)....awesome. I'd like to say that I stand and ponder the mysteries of life or my future. I'd like to say that I try to fathom the sheer amount of them in sky. I'd like to say that I try to figure out how people can be so different wh

Except that the Doors are the most overrated band in the history of infinity. And if you're saying Pearl Jam is overrated, I owe you a punch.

Arrgh! Ted! Why dost thine criticisms have to hit thy mark so closely!? While what you said is not something I, nor any Pearl Jam fan, would consider complimentary...I can't dispute any of those remarks. Damn you!

Ah, yes, the woes of the Type A personality. ;) I, personally, feel that when I do something I should be in top form, or it really isn't worth doing. As a Psych major, I learned all about sleep dep. It's said that a person who gets less than 6 hours sleep (some people need more or less sleep than others, the 6 hour is based on the average 8 hour scale) can only function at 70% of their "brain power". This is akin to being mentally retarded in

I am a night person. One of my favorite things to do in the middle of night is to walk out onto the porch. Sometimes, even though I'm not a smoker, I'll smoke one of my mom's cigarettes. Sometimes I'll cozy up to our huge, old, smelly, outside mutt and talk to him, even though he is past the age where he can hear most of the sounds I can make. Sometimes I'll

Ted, I'm really happy that you and your guest found each other. And, yeah, a little jealous. But why? Of whom? I don't know. Maybe I'm just jealous of the fact that you've each found someone that makes you feel the way you obviously do. Anyway, hope your weekend is wonderful!

Umm...yes...I too am a grammar God. You are a GRAMMAR GOD ! If your mission in life is not already to preserve the English tongue, it should be. Congratulations and thank you! How grammatically sound are you? brought to you by Quizilla Does this mean a

This is all hearsay, mind you, because I never saw any of it with my own actual eyes. This all happened today at work, before I got there. Apparently the produce ladies were completely freaking out this morning. Someone went in to find out what the matter was, and they too freaked out. The cause for all the out-freaking was that a herd of tarantulas had stowe

I'm glad you guys liked it. It's my longest entry, and I hoped that it didn't drag too much. But I guess for people who were thereit does recapture the good times. Reb- I totally forgot about that while I was writing! Otherwise I would have put it in, for sure.

It was an absolutely GORGEOUS Spring day. Temperatures were in the 60's and I was going down to spend time with most of my favorite people in the world. I left Cook around 2:30, after cashing my check and doing all the neccesary car maintanence checks and what not. I was on such a natural high from the spring weather that I rocked out to Dispatch for the e

Kurt's suicide, I think, should be used as a lesson. I think most of us know someone who as committed suicide, at least indirectly (a classmate, friend of a friend, etc). If Kurt had lived, he may have really made a difference in the world. Maybe he could have driven people to act for a cause, like Eddie Vedder. Maybe he could have made enough difference in a person's life that THEY wouldn't want to commit suicide. Instead, he set a bad example...but n

I'm heading down to Duluth today, and I'm pretty psyched. For those of you (and I'll assume it's many of you) who have never been to Duluth, I don't know how to describe it to you. It's an absolutely GORGEOUS town, especially lakeside (it's located at the very tip of Lake Superior). I went to college there, and it still has a special place in my heart. Many

I thought your article was very well written. You make good points. The cynic in me can't help pointing out: "If moveon.org wishes to see it's momentum grow and be a long term political body, they will need to do better than just staying within technical legal boundries despite the wishes of the speaker used in the ad and be more professional in their approach to the accuracy of the actual advertisements, even on the most technical and tak

Mack, Yes! I was hoping I wasn't the only one who did that. I admittedly did not buy the cd, but my friend burned me a copy, so I'm not sure if my guesses were dead on or not, but I feel pretty confident about most of them. Also, Yellow Ledbetter, though one of their overplayed songs, is one of my favorite songs, period.

Kiribati is a nation composed of a string of islands (Gilbert islands) about a thousand miles of your NE coast. It's pronounced Keer-a-boss and it's where I'll be living for two years when I'm in the Peace Corps.
