Off the trail

Blood only runs from these shins when these pedals bite,
when I'm coastin' through SLP at night,
it's a sight...
to see this blur,
to see all you yuppies scatter and stir,
see two double walled rims whir....

But this ain't no escalade,
does it look like I need an expensive car to get laid?
Fuck that, it's the recovering-suburban pimp,
It's been a good day when I've got this slight limp,
I got tricks up my sleeve and rythm in my hips,
and even in the puddles and rain I welcome a slip...

and skid, in front of all the kids,
if I crashin' I hope I land on this lid....

to save this mind from these personal crimes and passions,
Cause I've got nothin' but time that ain't lastin'.

If you're already ahead then cash-in,
and count it all at the table,
and spot a cab to that girl or guy who would but isn't able,
to straighten up or get stable.

And I'll help them to the door,
and they can thank me tomorrow when they're nursin' water and advil with their heads sore.

I've got more,
but you'll ask no less,
it's no chore,
to comfort you and caress...

your weary head,
and my heavy heart,
that were set into motion from the very start.
And I'll play the part,
I was destined to play,
and I'll leave my mark,
on a single sunray...

Through the clouds, the noise, and the traffic,
for lesser days more tragic,
to add some bounce in your daydreams is fantastic,
and no matter how fast-it...

Goes, I know that we're following the same flow,
We grew where we both grow,
and now we knew what we both know...

It shows,
in your eyes and silences,
when the stars in your iris were in perfect allignments,
but don't confine us....

to some rules and regulations,
we seek higher elevations,
persuasive motivations far from burdensome obligations,
erase them....

and only listen close,
to the ones with the funds to pay your way the most....

and my mind is free of cluttered conceipt,
but you may shutter from my wallet empty except for 2 nickels and receipts.

But my time will come at little cost,
to those who don't mind venturing off the trail and getting lost.

ted...

this reminds me of the rhymes that you used to write last year and post as away messages and what not....good memories.

one of the things that i like most about your writing/poems is that i am always taken in a direction other than i expected. and i always find myself looking at life from a different perspective...keep it coming.

Ted...totally awesome.

My personal favorite is when the flow is sooooooooo good, like:

"to some rules and regulations,
we seek higher elevations,
persuasive motivations far from burdensome obligations,
erase them...."

Love those quick, in your face rhymes.

Thanks for reading guys...I was happy with this part a lot...I may have to use it in a more serious piece sometime.

It shows,
in your eyes and silences,
when the stars in your iris were in perfect allignments,
but don't confine us....

Both parts that you and Unfairman liked, were parts that I appreciated as well. Good stuff.
