Ted, Well, I suppose you can be gracefully forgiven for not posting more on JU...because I'm a gracefully forgiving guy. You have a busy job and a wonderful wooed woman...tell her I said hi, btw, and that she can write me if she wants However, I will not forgive you if you don't send me letters. Also, if I don't see you in August. Peace Out from the Peace Corps, Kiribati Chris

Janders- Hey! I'm from Minnesota, and I remember those few and far between awesome spring days. When I was a Freshman in Duluth, we had an 80 degree day in March. Girls were wearing bikinis, us guys were playing football with no shirts on...gorgeous. The next week, however, we got about a foot of snow and the temps dropped below zero again. I'm now Peace Corps Volunteer serving in the Republic of Kiribati, in the central pacific. Basically, it

Alright, I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Homestarrunner and Strong Bad, but I need help with the Peasant's Quest game. It's pissin me off. Isn't there some kinda WalkThrough or something? Okay, peace. Chris

greywar- I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Kirbati (ki-de-bis). Ever heard of the WWII Battle of Tarawa? Tarawa is the capital island of Kiribati. In the town of Betio (Bay-SO) there are quite a few old war relics. There are two Japanese anti-aircraft/ship guns. One of them suffered a direct hit in the barrel by one of the boats on the reef -- good shooting by the U.S. Navy. There are also 2 or 3 American boats still hung up on the ree

Yeah, he can't make laws willy nilly like, oh say, the Patriot Act. Oh, and also, he cannot declare war on another country without consent of the Congress, but he seems to have found a way around that, nez pas? P.S. I never said I was a liberal. Conservatives can point out spelling errors, too.

island gurl- Here's the problem in Kiribati as far as relationships go. Well, there are many problems, but here's one that vexes many of the few single guys around here. The I-Kiribati children are gorgeous. Your heart melts when looking at 4 year olds. Also, the young adults mature pretty rapidly. If you look (and, lets admit it, everyone looks. Yes, even girls) you have to be careful, because 14 yeard olds look like they're 20 and 20 year olds g

Wanna hear a funny "ain't that just my luck" story? Okay, here goes. We went to a party the other day at Lauren's house. She's a PCV here on South Tarawa. It was a great party. Lots of barbeque, more than lots of beers, and 3 guitars. Jim, a Volunteer from my group who is super awesome on the guitar, played pretty much all night and two other guys

It's 7 pm, my time. I'm sitting at a computer at the office of the Peace Corps in the Republic of Kiribati (pronounced Keer-a-biss) in the equatorial Pacific.The sun set about a half an hour ago. The rhythym of the Pacific Islands is at least predictable: you know the sun will rise at 6:30 every morning and set at 6:30 every evening. We do our work in the morning;

My dearest friends at JoeUser.com... It's been a wild nine months, let me tell you that. I'm sitting here, at a computer, something from my life I hardly remember, and soon I will attempt to explain to you how different my life is now from the way it used to be. However, that will not be now, as I'm pretty drunk at the moment and plan to be more so in the upcoming

Dog, Yeah, I guess I did make it sound like that, but believe me this is the thing I've been waiting to do for over a year now. Of course I'm excited. Of course I'm looking forward to it. I've written about how much I'm going to enjoy this experience. It's just that I haven't been focusing on the hardships of leaving, thinking they'd be a breeze, when in reality they're anything but. Thanks for your support. I am proud.

Well, folks, this is it. The last blog entry of the me I am now. I may be able to acces the internet in the Peace Corps from Kiribati, but it's not likely and it won't be often, and even if I do I won't be the same person. I've been holding myself aloof, away for the past few days. I don't know if it's because I didn't realize how quickly this thing

Y'wanna know why Dems seem so "perverted"? It's because their opponents keep bringing up their sex lives instead of discussing the relevant issues. Was Clinton a bad president? You know he wasn't, because they destroyed his integrity by making such a big deal of all his sexual misconducts. I'm not saying I condone his infidelity, but I think there are bigger things to worry about. And the "liberal media" jumps all over it. Republican

KowGirl- I don't remember who said it, but it was someone famous and well respected: "Someone telling me that I made their day makes my day." I hope my article made your day/night, because then it made mine, too.
