DLC and expansions are what will keep development going.
I agree, but you've got to start with a strong foundation a base game that people are happy with, why would people who aren't happy with the game buy mega events and squirrel campaigns. it's pretty clear where development time is being spent currently... on DLC's first base game second. There was an excellent video by Total Biscuit (Y

Extremely disappointing patch Stardock. Perhaps you need to hold off on DLC until you've addressed the many numerous flaws in the base game that the forum threads and reviews on Steam are littered with. A few extra buttons on the planet queue, governors that most competent players won't care to use and a destination window that's probably harder to use than clicking on the tactical map in most circumstances is not the progress I was hoping for. It's been
Once again, to summarize the major points: 1. Gal Civ III provides too many economic bonuses. 2. Gal Civ III lacks economic maluses. 3. The AI is unable to take advantage of either. But the human certainly can. 4. The exponentially growing power curves that a human can create means balancing it is extremely difficult. Either the AI gets too many bonuses
When we do replace the per planet production wheel, we're not going to just take it out and not put something 3else there. Instead, you'll have a system that will allow you to emphasize a particular focus for the planet.
I'd be worried that this still means competent players will be inclined to micromanage the focus of every single planet frequently, it wouldn't be as fiddly as the wheel but surely there i
But the per planet microing is all going to go away.
Hi Frogboy To clarify, does that mean it will no longer be possible to change an individual planets production in any way other than through the existing global page? No wheel, sliders, buttons, etc. anything to do with changing production on an individual planets screen?
I'll still be forced to go back to every individual planet when I research an upgrade and switch them to 100% manu, then set them back to 100% research one at a time afterwards.
That's still a lot quicker than entering each planet screen and dragging the mouse to the right location on a wheel. One click each planet is a lot quicker, or much better yet they could also add planets building X e.g. research cen
You are changing the wheel-shape into buttons and moving its place in the UI.
It's a percentage system with all the fiddlyness taken out so if that's not removing the wheel, it's still a bloody big change I'd say :) My initial response to naselus is post #55. If I get what your saying you think that there is going to be zero ways to select individual planets production your interpretat
Oh, let's just drop the 'it'll reduce mico' rubbish, because it won't. You can bet that if we're stuck with just the global wheel, we'll be microing it every turn to make sure we're not wasting any more production on econ or research than is absolutely needed
I'd scrap the Global Wheel as well it's part of the same problem. It's not just the amount micromanagement it&#3

Getting rid of the wheel system is a massive step forward in reducing the crazy micro management in the game and shows that Stardock are able to make tough decisions, encouraging signs at last! It's the right decision for a game of this scale. 10 planet empires the old system works ok, above that and the the game increasingly bogs down. I've posted about getting rid of the wheel previously (even requesting it it to be set on fire since I hate it that much, which di

I'm re-posting my economy solution below "A Suicidal difficulty Let's Players proposal..." I've posted it it elsewhere but I'll add some additional requests here. I could right an essay on what needs to be improved in Gal Civ 3 but I'll just cover the top of the iceberg. Others have mentioned similar to these but here's my 2c. Sorting: All the queue's in the game lack sorting options shockingly poor currently can't believe it's s

The scale of the game is too big for the existing system imo.
<br /
I still honestly have no idea how you call yourself a micro manager when you are asking for quick click buttons in the overview to blindly set your production/research/income. The whole point of being a micro manager is that you go in, analyse and use exactly what you need, every turn. That is micro management in a 4x to it's very core.
Why are you trying to get rid of something that only OCD people have trouble with?
Your apparent lack of imagination on why someone may choose to play a certain way or want a certain feature changed I'm guessing is because it would damage your argument that the feature is "fine" but of course they must have OCD... I'm not taking away your wheel you can relax, seriously.

The game allows you to get down to detailed focus, I don't get that it "forces" you to do anything. If your gameplay style is such that it becomes no fun, then why are you doing it? If squeezing one more hammer or cutting off one more build-turn isn't a satisfying experience in itself, why bother? Part of me wants to say people need to ow
