All the races have min 4 escorts some 7 so I think some alterations are needed with the commanders roles just for variety sake. People playing Gal Civ 3 were confused by ship roles. Since there is zero documentation/help in Gal Civ 4 it's no wonder why people have no clue. This is the best link I know of for ship roles... little has changed in Gal Civ 4 if anything in this regard. https://galciv3.fandom.com/wiki/Ship_role
I have a workaround. start the game on the regular game on 1.01 then save and start on test game 1.03 with the save from 1.01. seems to be working for me. I am not colpletly sure if it is using all of the 1.03 changes though, I think it would be though.
Thanks Jimbo might try that, I've been playing a lot of GCIV recently when I don't have the time and have been neglecting other things but yeah not sure I'm ready for a
I think this is related yo there being star type possiblty out of balance too many blue stars.
I think you're right. Was planning on starting a new game with 1.03... gonna give it a miss until this gets sorted, think it would cause too many issues.

+1 Amplitude has minimized events screens in Endless Space I think it's time Stardock implemented this "feature" as well... It's been needed ever since there were events in the Gal Civ series... which I think is always. I mentioned this in a recent GCIV beta feedback thread I made (for the same reason i.e. informed decision making) and probably mentioned it in YouTube videos I made for GC3 numerous times. Hopefully Gal Civ IV will be the first GC game to make
But I have been surprised how much I like the District mechanic for making it so easy to visually read my planets and specialize them.
Would be nice if there was a toggle so you know can see the tiles under districts/buildings. You can kind of see what's under them but not well and not with detail and sometimes it's worth demolishing/rebuilding... Districts are a nice change though but upgraded districts
Its Macsen. I used to watch your videos on youtube till you stopped. Wasnt sure if you had just stopped making videos because you were tired of doing Gal Civ III or you fell off the planet...
Hi SharkWolf, it was a bit of both arguably :) My departure from YouTube wasn't planned at all, I was planning on doing more Gal Civ content and some Pillars of Eternity II videos at that time but had some issues... A week without
So combat is basically unchanged from GalCiv III?
As of 0.77b seemingly yes. Arguably in the current state a step backward because there is no combat viewer implemented yet, though I believe I read there will be one, presumably at 1.0 if not before. There are periphery changes, the old miniaturization space has gone for a more simple components per hull type e.g. cargo 3, med hull 4 and some techs add more wh

Thanks Aerez, nice points about the Core Worlds, seems there's more under the surface than I realized. I knew there were lots of timing issues when to core them but in the very longterm I thought was best to core everything. Been playing the Xeloxi quite a bit, seems I need to take a better look how crime works.
I don't know specifically about the treasure hunt ship, but the AI was changed in 3.0 to attack colony ships.
I probably should have mentioned a few more details. I don't know if it is a bug but there are are reasons to believe it was. All war declarations should really start with a popup in my opinion (perhaps they are supposed to?) this did not. My treasure hunt automated ship was near to a terr

Thought I'd add my 2c on this... I really like the fact that the hardest difficulty should be nearly impossible to beat. However if it leads to the game not being fun that's an issue. How many people are now playing Godlike and how many like this change? I just played 20 turns on godlike (first real attempt since move changes) Intrigue all DLC/expansions with Iconians Huge Map, 8 empires, max minors, tight clusters ,rare stars, max habitable, max planets, max extre

Someone posted about precursor worlds having pre-Crusade raw production you might want to take a look at that as well for the patch... https://forums.galciv3.com/482954/page/1/#3676672 EDIT just checked their all extreme precursor worlds probably intended (big late game boost planets) might be too generous though???
But yea, that's a good point. I think the Conqueror trait is going to have to be looked at.
And my reply #14 what do you think of that? Speaking of offers my Crusade YT videos have more views than some of the people Stardock (sponsored), would be nice to get an offer myself in future ;)

Great to get quick updates fixing issues and some balance changes here's my list what I'd like to see next patch. Quality of Life/Balance relatively easy fixes. 1. Asteroid Notification if any come within your influence (they're so important you don't want to miss out on not mining them immediately) 2. Individual Hotkeys for Ships/Planets/Starbases/Shipyards tab key for all is not enough. It causes a lot of unnecessary micro without hotkeys.
20 Seem too long after mid-game since a lot of things can happen, more if you are at war. 10 just like citizen generation seem to be ok.
Depends how cruel Brad wants to be on the player for making a mistake :) 10 is fine, but with 20 you're less able to abuse scrapping tons of starbases/surveys for some short term tactical gains.
Any suggestions?
20 turn cooldown after disbanding to get your administrator point back. Status quo definitely not great. Other (probable) simple to fix things the game really needs!!! 1. Individual Hotkeys for Ships/Planets/Starbases/Shipyards ta

If the projected number of habitable planets were displayed based on the settings you pick it would solve so many problems with map selection/galaxy options. Then people would at least have rough idea how long their games will last and how many empires they should roughly select. It's been a problem well before GC3... the entire series. I'd put money on it the only people who have a clue how many habitable planets they can expect on certain map sizes are
They level up over time. Thus, the order in which you specialize them matters.
This could be very significant, many of the leaders have a global bonus 3% and a local planetary bonus of 25% in their specialized field. I'm more interested in the local bonus. Hopefully each time they level up the percentage amount could go up. If they level up frequently perhaps each time you get a new leader those percentage amounts could be significant.<br
