Really glad Deskscapes got an update and so far really enjoy it. My only concern is now that Deskscapes installs wallpapers (Dreams and Static) to the Documents folder, it doesn't seem to play nice with OneDrive. My installed wallpaper in DeskScapes shows blank previews and not the actual wallpaper preview.

Deskscapes has had issues for some time now and I'm very frustrated with it. My issue differs in that it installs wallpapers to other locations rather than where it should install them. Not sure if anyone is doing anything to fix these issues as there's never a response.
Any updates on this issue yet? Deskscapes is still downloading static walls to the Documents folder. Thanks.
I've just decided to move all static walls to the correct folder(downloaded dreams) manually until this gets fixed. I mostly download Sed's stuff and noticed he puts superfluous files in his archives but I'm fine with it. I just delete anything that doesn't need to be there other than the 4K walls. Can be a bit time consuming but oh well. I don't use Dreams anymore because Wallpaper Engine does way better with these. Anyways, hopefully there's a remedy for this problem soon. We keep griping e
Just a heads up, this also happens with the "Steam" version of Deskscapes since I purchased Deskscapes through the Steam app too. So this issue is affecting all versions of Deskscapes where walls are being put in the Documents/Dreams folder. Just thought you should be aware.
I installed v. 11.02 yesterday thinking that would fix things, but surprisingly it still sends static walls to the Documents folder. I can't understand how all the sudden this problem just creeps up out of nowhere like this.
Fences (beta) 6.44 and Fences 6.20 always crashes at Windows startup. Have to restart Windows Explorer every time Windows loads. Windows 11 Pro latest build. Sure wish Stardock would fix things as I'm having issues with Deskscapes sending static wallpaper downloads to the wrong folder messing up DeskScapes. This has been posted in the correct topic. Not happy about paying for software that is not being maintained as it should.
@pednomy That's what's weird, the "DownloadedDreams" folder is no longer present in the C:\Users\drane\AppData\Local\Stardock\DownloadedDreams folder after a complete reinstall of Deskscapes. Edit: the DownloadedDreams folder is there, just not within the Deskscapes folder, so I moved it to the Deskscapes folder where it should be, and will see what happens.
In looking in AppData's local folder, the Deskscapes folder where static wallpapers were downloaded to is empty. I have purged/reinstalled Deskscapes again, discovering this, and it still wants to place static wallpaper in the Documents dreams folder. Hope this gets fixed, and glad to know this is not just happening to me.
Should've been more explanative, apologies. Deskscapes is downloading static wallpapers to the Dreams folder in Documents, instead of with all the other static wallpapers in the AppData folder where Deskscapes usually puts them. There's no option to tell Deskscapes where to put static wallpaper downloads so not sure why all the sudden this is happening. Worked fine before Deskscapes had DNS issues connecting to Wincustomize yesterday. Hope this explains things better.
Deskscapes static wallpapers are automatically being downloaded to the dreams folder in "Documents", instead of the "users/username/appdata/stardock/downloaded dreams folder. Thanks.
Thank you.
High contrast themes are not enabled on my laptop, nor is Desktop Windows Manager having any issues.
Is there a solution to the white screen issue when loading Windows from a reboot/shutdown yet? I know the issue is Deskscapes because when not using Deskscapes, Windows default wallpaper and themes load just as they should. Is there going to be an update to Deskscapes anytime soon? Thanks.
I use the stand alone app, not Object Desktop.
Activation error was 212. I found a fix in that you're asked to delete the Deskscapes folder, then try to activate, but it still wants to not work. Throws same error code, 212. I really enjoy having Deskscapes, but it has not been the same since the 24H2 update I've noticed.
Never thought of that thanks. Just need to figure out how to do just that. I'll research it.
Sorry, didn't think to include my set up. Windows 11 v24H2 OS Build 26100.4652. Deskscapes 11 (not currently installed due to issues.) I downloaded the latest .exe from my Stardock account. Now it won't activate after trying to reinstall. Both animated and static wallpapers produce the same result (white background) no display managers that I'm aware of running. It's a Dell XPS laptop with intel iris graphics as well as NVIDIA graphics. All drivers are up to date. Hope this helps. <
I've had this issue for a while and have followed all suggestions before in trying to resolve why Deskscapes does not load chosen wallpaper on desktop after a reboot, instead I am greeted with a white background. I've tried purging, reinstalling, everything under the sun but nothing I've come across resolves this. If anyone has a fix for this I'd appreciate knowing what that might be. Thanks!
Thank you! That did the trick, now if I can just figure out why when rebooting and logging into WIndows, the background I've chosen in Deskcapes isn't applied showing only a white screen? Anyways I hope Deskscapes gets an update soon as I've read others have had this same issue since Windows 11 updated to 24H2. Again thanks Jan. By the way, I love your wallpapers.
Get an error 212 when trying to activate Deskscapes. Won't activate.
No luck. I have decided to go with Wallpaper Engine as it just works. Deskscapes seems to always have problems and it's really too bad. I use Start 11, Fences and Groupy which all work flawlessly. Since Windows 11 24H2 was released, I've noticed Deskscapes having issues. I hope Stardock will have a new update soon for this software. Until then, I'll use Wallpaper Engine. Thanks anyways.
Hello, When rebooting my laptop, and as Windows 11 loads to the desktop, Deskscapes will not load properly and I end up with a white screen instead of the background picture I've chosen within Deskscapes. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
Problem solved. Turns out it had to do with installing a "codec pack" that seemed to correct the problem. Not sure why but it worked.
Checked AppData and the folders exist as well as downloaded backgrounds. I performed an elevated install of Windows 11 and that did not fix the problem. I have to assume there's something wrong with Deskscapes.
