Downloaded latest Start11 ver. 2.5.5.4 Uninstalled installed ver. 2.5.1.3 Immediately rebooted Windows. Installed downloaded Start11 ver. 2.5.5.4 Immediately rebooted Windows. I still do not have the ability to pin Programs, Folders or Folder Menus to Taskbar from Start11 Configuration screen, Right click on program taskbar button or drag & drop.

When I right click a button in the taskbar of a running program there is no "Pin to Taskbar" option, only the program itself and "Close Window" choices. No "Pin to Taskbar"! There is no place where I can find a "Pin to Taskbar" choice in any context menu. In fact when I go to the Start11 configure screen and use the "Taskbar Pins" then click "Pin File" it doesn't work! More system info...Computer is 6 months old. Nothing unusual running.
I'm running Windows 11 version 24H2 (OS Build 261000.6584). I installed Start11 version 2.53 with my product key. I am unable to pin files to the Start 11 taskbar. Also, programs on the desktop context menu do not offer "pin to taskbar." I uninstalled Start11 and re-installed it. Same problem. Any suggestions?
I just did the purge, reboot, re-install and reboot. No joy!
The service is set to automatic. Interestingly, at one point I thought I'd try setting the service to delayed automaattic, but when I tried it I got a rejection warning from Windows saying it couldn't be done. I still have the startup problem and I am using my batch file trick--but I really wish it was possible to identify the source and solution to the problem! Thank for continuing to support me!
Unfortunately it didn't work. I have an account that is clean booted with all startup apps disabled. Strangely, Start11 is not listed in the Startup Apps list so it is obviously not disabled. If I restart Explorer, Start11 seems to work fine just as with my original account.
Am I correct that the steps you recommend are: 1) Create a new Windows Administrator account. 2) Log onto the new account. 3) Then do a clean boot. 4) Then run the batch file inside StartStart10 11.zip 5) And then -- what? Reboot to my original Windows Adminstrator account? or the newly created Windows Administrator account? And then what?
I have know how to do a clean boot. I'm just asking you to please explain what it is that I am supposed to "try". When it says, "If it fails..." -- what is the "it" that fails?
Basj, The instructions are confusing. It says: Windows 10 & 11 <div class="r_popper_wrapper r_tooltip_wrapper_ref
Here's my problem. I am using Start11 2.51 on a new Lenovo laptop and all is good. So I just built a new desktop based on a Gigabyte X870 GAMING X WIFI7 motherboard running Windows 11 and installed Start11. It didn't run! The start menu and taskbar that appeared was the standard Win11 UI. I spent a couple of days trying to solve the problem, and finally experimented with killing & restarting Explorer and suddenly Start11 worked perfectly! I continued to experiment with things and
Thanks pelaird...that fixed it!!
I'm using the sub-style Modern Style. Can't do a screen grab of start menu but here's a photo.
Windows info in screen grab below, and my Start 11 menu style is "modern style."
I am using Start11 2.51 I remove an item from the start menu using "remove from this list" and a few minutes later it reappears. Help!
