Like I mentioned earlier, after deleting it from my PC, I attempted to find it online but wasn't able to. I've converted PNG to JPG many times and never had a problem. Take care KK
One thought: Instead of the usual JPG files, images from a few of the sites download as PNG which means I route them through Paint to open. I looked for the particular image that caused this issue, but couldn't find it...perhaps it was pulled. Anyway, it was a PNG file. Does this add to the confusion or clarity? KK
The wallpaper wasn't animated and was from one of the large sites that provides free wallpaper downloads, and a site I've used in the past. No wallpaper manager involved. KK
UPDATE I discovered what was causing the problem with sporadic blacked out fence roll downs. It was apparently a downloaded desktop wallpaper image that was causing this. Changing the wallpaper and I inadvertently made the problem go away. Brought the wallpaper up again and down come the blacked out fence rollups. Yes, that wallpaper is no longer on my computer. Being computer semi literate, I haven't a clue how the wallpaper and Fences interacted to cause this, but am thankful
In the past 4-5 days the 4 fence rollups across the top of my desktop screen drop down, 1 at a time, in no certain pattern, and are blacked out when they drop. the only way I can get one to roll up is to exit out of the screen I'm in and come back in. Rarely has the same roll up dropped down, it's another one of the 4. I've tried everything but uninstall/reinstall. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks, KK Moved to Fences area
Stardock has been sending me the occasional email for a Fences 5 Upgrade. Today I bit and bought the upgrade. When I got the code to register the upgrade, I got three: One for Fences 3 one for Fences 4 and one for an Annual Subscription. Since I have Fences 5 up and running on my pc, why am I getting product keys for Fences 3 and 4? And, what's with the Annual Subscription? What if I don't want an annual subscription, but rather want to choose to continue the service or not? Please ad
Today, when popping back into my desktop I noticed one of 3 Fence rollups was fully expanded. Nothing I've done so far...except for possibly uninstalling Fences and reinstalling) has worked to change this. All other elements of the software appears to be working just fine. What am I not doing to rectify this? Thanks...KK
Just now I did a deep uninstall of Fences and immediately all program, folder, and file icons showed up on the desktop for the first time in a day. Whew...glad to see them. So, now I'll reinstall Fences and see if that solves whatever problem I created. Always operator error, right! Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate you reminding me about Snapshot. KK
Hi, Yesterday while working with a folder, I inadvertently caused all items to open on the desktop as icons. The result is that the three Fence areas: Programs, Folders and Files, have disappeared and I'm unable to recreate any of them. I can find everything using File Explorer, but would like to know how to reclaim Fences and the attendant data. Restarting computer didn't help. Any info, direction would be greatly appreciated.
