No worries Basj -- you got me there! Thank you very much for your help and patience. I found how to apply the snapshot -- and all has returned to normal. I lost 2.5 hours this morning - I wish they had fore-warned of this issue when insisting on the update. But now I know. Thanks again. Have a good day. -Roman

No I didn't - but I did now -- thank you. So there is a daily snapshot from yesterday night as an .xml file. You are saying go ahead and download and install the latest Fences from my account now. Do you think it will apply this snapshot or do I make it do that manually?
I would love to backup my layout snapshots -- but that is why I started this post - they are gone after the update. So when you say the purge should not remove your layout snapshots... I a not sure you are understanding my situation. I am attempting the purge you suggested. On the uninstall window it wants to know if I want to save settings -- yes or no? There is really nothing to save as the desktop is blank. I am just not sure where we are going with this
But the purge process sounds like it gets rid of all the files from the previous installation. I don't see how I can recover my configuration settings then. The new version apparently installed ok - didn't have a desktop shortcut but I found it and opened it. I'm just back to square one. Are you saying the update install was corrupt and that it should have opened with my previous settings intact - so I am now purging the new update files?
I got this pop-up in middle of my screen for a while now whenever I restart my machine, telling me I need to update Fences. Finally today when getting started I had few moments I accept. On reboot... can't believe... can't believe I am saying this -- ALL MY FENCES ARE GONE. Now why would a company do that -- and if they needed to wouldn't they warn their loyal customers? I have tweaked my fences system over time to where it is a valuable addition to my workflow.
