> Basically the highest priority rule is used to determine the group a window is put into. A manual group has highest priority, then a saved group, then a custom rule or autogroup the same applications. Basically, what you are saying is that a recalled Saved Group would not incorporate new windows that its applications are generating. Only a manual g

> Is the issue that the windows in the saved group are not grouping together OR is the problem that future Word windows are not also being grouped with those? It is that additional Word windows (and of other applications) are not being grouped together. As I explained, everything works fine if I assemble the group manually, but not if I call it from the "S
> But, I am not sure if its from Groupy itself, since its not happening on my system and we don't see reports from others on this same issue. Surely there lots other Words user that also using Groupy out there. How many Word users open multiple windows? I would say that only a small minority does.
I followed your instructions but it did not make any difference. If I use File Explorer to launch the saved groups, then they do not aggregate the new instances within the group. This happens repeatedly and consistently in my system . It is not just Word, the same happens with Outlook and other programs that may create independent windows. With Outlook, if I assemble the group
Well, I have an answer for you. It does not work (and it ceases to work) when the File Explorer is called. If you start the group from the "Saved Groups" folder, which requires you to run the File Explorer, then Groupy does not group new instances of the application in the same group. I tried it twice and and the behavior is consistent, which indicates to me that it is a "good" bug that needs to be corrected.
Yes, of course!!
Here it is (and it is the same in both systems)
Well, my observations come from two systems (a) Desktop - Win11 64 bit, CPU: i9 12th generation; GPU: RTX 2060 Super; Ram: 64 Gbl SSD: 2 TB Samsung 980 Pro - Main software: Microsoft 365 Business; Adobe Creative Suite (b) Laptop (Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen5) - Win11 64bit; CPU: i7 12800H; GPU: RTX 3080; Ram 32 GB, SSD: 1Tb - Same Software as the Desktop Both machines have the absolutely latest versions of Win11, Microsoft 365 Business, and Adobe Creative Suite. <
I think that Groupy 2.0 is a great idea and I really want it to succeed. But it has been very frustrating so far. Sure, Groupy creates groups and these function as they should some of the time, but not all of the time. For example, when one specifies that some application should automatically group all windows together, well, it does not happen all of the time. Maybe it happens half of the time...I am not really sure. MS Word, for example, should be able to inclu
Thank you for clarifying the different options of the Groupy dialog > Looking at your grouped tabs, if those all auto grouped then that suggests you have told Groupy to do so either via automatic grouping for a single app (if those are all the same app), or by setting up a custom rule thats incorrect and causing multiple unexpected matches. U
Just some additional information. The only way to stop applications grouping themselves even when Groupy is inactive is to uninstall Groupy. When I have done so, the behavior of the programs returned to normal. It is important for Stardock to make sure that when Groupy is not running, the programs return to their default behavio r.
Because of problems with Groupy, I decided to switch it off. Groupy was off when I booted the computer today, but applications started grouping themselves even in the absence of Groupy. What is going on???
I can answer some of the questions: Windows 11 64-bit version: 23H2 (buiild 22631-3085) Groupy 2 version installed is 2.12 There is no need for videos. In general, Word does not retain newer instances within Groupy. It is version 2401
The problems with Groupy 2 seem to become more aggravating the longer I use the program. Microsoft Word has serious problems retaining additional instances (files for editing) within a specific group. The same with Outlook. Even when specified, Outlook cannot maintain edited emails within the Group it belongs to. In addition, sometimes when I close one for the email windows, the whole program and the whole group goes down. In addition, Groupy 2 seems to have pr
Thanks for the reply. I expect that issues will be progressively worked out. I think that Groupy is a great product.
Overall, I want to congratulate Stardock for releasing Groupy 2. It provides a great deal of functionality. However, there are problems that distract from the overall experience. For example, multiple versions of a program cannot exist within a given group. If one works for more than one Microsoft document at a given time, the 2nd instance of Word is outside the original group created. Also, saved groups that incorporate certain program such as Adobe Acrobat, can
I have installed Groupy 1.5 in one of my Windows 11 machines. Unfortunately, the installation of this piece of software caused Win11 to become stuck at the Lock Screen after a start. At that stage, I could not enter my key to proceed with normal boot. I had to restart, in which case I was able to proceed with booting up. After uninstalling Groupy 1.5, the machine returned to it prior fully operational condition.
Well, in general it does not work in the original manner of moving windows on top of windows. However, if one gets a window with the Groupy bar on, then one can use the three dot menu to get applications in the group. MS Word in general never displays the Groupy bar when Groupy is on and the same is true for Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Adobe Acrobat and various others. However, as I said before, one can create a group if a single application generates a Groupy bar. Consiste
The same here. It does not work at all. In fact, the only application that seems to respond is the File Explorer.
Well, Groupy 1.5 does not work for me in Win11 (I have the latest version - a couple of updates since the original release). Groupy only seems to work with File Explorer, but this is about all. Otherwise, it fails to work with my applications. Any ideas?
