It's possible that rebooting a VM does not cause this issue because the actual PC is not restarting.

Those results were with Fences 5.5.1.1.
Right, Explorer Patcher is the program that changes File Explorer. Does anyone know if Explorer Patcher is a Stardock effort? I think I started receiving updates from it when I bought and installed Start 11, version 1.
No. Explorer Patcher is not affiliated with Stardock in any way. It is a product by Valentin Radu on GitHub. It has issues with almost every Windows update. It is important to keep it up
Also, you mentioned, it happen on those Fences you just move to dock at the bottom. Try this, move it and save a layout snapshot and see if that survive a reboot.
Nope. That didn't make any difference. The fences still jumped back to their original position after restart. The only setting that I have different is the Display is set to 125%.
Are you talking about the tiles section or the All Apps list?
I don't believe that's possible, but there is a Hotkey setting in Groupy to use ctrl+tab to switch tabs, which is also used by most browsers.
Those icons are probably in an icon library .dll file. If you are looking for Windows 10 icons they come from the font Segoe MDL2 Assets. And Windows 11 icons come from Segoe Fluent Icons. If you have "Character Map UWP" (available on the Microsoft Store), you can copy and save these icons in PNG or SVG images as black or white. Hope this helps.
I can reproduce this on my system. If I move a couple of Fences from their original position and dock them at the bottom of the screen, after a restart they are back in their original position again. Both Fences have rollup turned on and Vanish is turned on. Windows 11 Pro - 22635.3566; Fences - 5.0.5.4

If you right click the icon you can pick a custom icon. or, open Start11 and select the shortcut and click Set icon.
This note is for Basj. This appears to be the same issue as https://forums.stardock.com/527627/page/1/#3929256 pelaird
Neil is correct. I have found that with the Enhanced taskbar on, even in the combined mode, certain apps will not use a custom icon.
Quoting elliottch1, reply 3 Thanks and an 'E' for effort, but Notepad is now and always has been the preferred app for *.txt files. The problem may have been that File Explorer could not find notepad.exe even though it was where it has always been -- C:\windows\Syste

That seems to work. Thanks for that info.
Unfortunately, I don't believe the font can be changed, but I agree with you on the shadow. I don't care for it either. I just choose a darker background soo it doesn't show.
There should be a app in the Startdock folder on your All apps list called "Start10tweak." Open it and Disable Start10 Service. You can also find this app in the following location. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start11\Start10tweak.exe"

The only messages that popped up were fatal errors with fences so the app is Involved..
Just curious. Did you get your PC back from service? Was there a hardware issue, or was it some ki
This was published by StarDock. Add string registry key to use Win32 menus on right-click on the taskbar to allow third-party extension of the menu . Use HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 Create a new string and name it S11_UseOldRightClickMenus and then set the Value to 1. This should allow you to use Nilesoft Shell.
