Thank you for the information, Basj.

I hadn’t considered bootup sequence. Thank you, Neil.
I discovered something interesting about the bizarre background-always-changes-when-switching-virtual-desktops bug. I see that the only desktop that shows the correct background is the active desktop. There is what the backgrounds should be for all 3 desktops
Thanks
I am curious about something. How does DeskScapes determine display order? Specifically: I have 3 displays which show up in Windows as left = 1, center = 2, right = 3. In DeskScapes, applying backgrounds behaves as follows: center = 1, right = 2, left = 3. Through testing, I have found that DeskScapes background application appears to be based on primary (or main, as Windows calls it) display. This is understandable. However, when showing the info panel on the screens, the order behav
I know that this is an old thread. But, I figured that I would inform people that the issue of additional information not appearing on desktop backgrounds has been resolved. I found that the issue was caused not by DeskScapes, but by a separate application, namely Actual Window Manager . Something that I did read about, however (but was unable to find the thre
Thank you, Basj. I remember reading that there were some issues with the playlist function. Perhaps the videos restarting with multiple playlists is a bug. I have 3 displays connected to my computer. When I run a single video on 2 of them and a playlist on the third, the 2 single videos do not restart when the playlist advances to a different video. It continues playing as normal. However, if I run playlists on 2 (or all 3) of the displays, when one of the playlists changes videos, the curren
I have found (at various points) that running multiple video playlists causes the video in one of them to restart when another changes videos. As an example: If I run 2 video playlists with the currently playing video in playlist 1 being 5 minutes long and the currently playing video in playlist 2 being 1 minute long, when the 1-minute video ends and changes to a different video, the 5-minute video will restart. Is there a way to “desynchronize” the backgrounds so that the 2 playl
I found that the information panel is present even for applying any background (rather than playlists only). Oddly, though, even after turning it on, I do not see the information on the background. Perhaps DeskScapes needs to be restarted (?). Although, that seems odd.
That might be what I was thinking of. I did not remember it being in the playlist tab of the main window. Thank you, Basj.
I have read of a way to have DeskScapes show additional information on the desktop. I think that I saw something about that during the initial setup but chose to have it not be shown. What does that show (system uptime, filenames of current backgrounds, and things of the sort) (?)? Can I have it shown without uninstalling and reinstalling DeskScapes?
I’ll do that. Thank you for the suggestion. That looks to have worked. I tested it shortly before performing this edit. The configurator opened with the welcome screens instead of the dialog pictured in my previous post.
Has anyone else seen that? I discovered it while attempting to open the configurator to adjust my backgrounds (via the Configure DeskScapes menu item from the desktop).
That does sound exciting. Depending on the cause of the “image to image + 4 and back again repeatedly” (or, per the screenshot, known in Plants Vs. Zombies as “ Column Like You See ’Em ”) issue, it might also be fixed when the other issue is resolved. Thank you for the information, AzDude.
I have updated DeskScapes on another computer. I am not sure if the same behavior is present. It is difficult to determine because it looks to not be happening at the same frequency. The picture pairs might be to be changing more quickly. I did observe what happens however (which looks to happen in both cases). (The same behavior might have been happening with the video playlist also.) <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/69/15/6915296/67f31dfa-f57e-4cdc-b5eb-40787c4382e4.png" alt
Thank you for the reply, sandford1. I will look at the settings in Actual Window Manager. I have had it conflict with applications before. It is set to use current Windows background. I tried pausing and exiting Actual Window Manager. The issue appears to persist. I will disable Actual Window Manager’s startup with Windows, restart my computer, and edit my post, reporting what I find. The issue does appear to persist even after disabling Actual Window Manager’s Windows startup and
I performed the purge. That looked to have successfully purged the registry entries, given my needing to reactivate DeskScapes and add an external folder back in that I had added previously. However, it does not appear to have fixed the issue with the playlist background. It is still alternating between 2 of the 8 pictures present in the playlist. Thank you for the suggestion, though. That was an amazing attempt! The potential good news is that the persistence (or, in the case of the purge, r
I updated Windows 10. Unfortunately, it seems that my primary computers do not meet all criteria for running Windows 11 (per the Windows Update window). 😢 Incidentally, the behavior does look to persist after updating the operating system. What I have observed is that the playlist alternates between 2 pictures for a period of time (that I do not know what is exactly) then changes to a different pair of pictures. It does not cycle between the 8 pictures randomly as expected. I suppose
Thank you for the reply, AzDude. I had no idea that my Windows build was out of date. I do not know exactly what the naming scheme means. I am guessing that the number at the beginning indicates a year ([2,0]21). But, I am not sure what the H in the name stands for. Anyway, the install is done and pending a computer restart. I will restart my computer to finish the update install after I submit this post. Have a wonderful day!
Windows build: 19042.1288 (version 20H2) I have found what might be a couple of bugs with the playlist function. I also have some suggestions for improvements to the function. The potential bugs: <p style="margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 16px; background-color:
