So the first video shows how to create the REQ file from the PC I'm trying to activate - however, I as stated earlier, I do not have the offline activation option as shown below in the video - I only have the BACK option.
I did deactivate the old computer. But my personal computer already has version 5 activated - can I still do the offline activation for version 4 using the same computer?
I do have internet at work, but I'm connected via VPN, and they have it pretty locked down - so something must be blocking it. I do not have access to the firewalls, or the ability to allow certain traffic out, or whitelist servers (as noted in your suggested post).
Ok, so I'm trying to use the old version of Fences (4) on my work computer, which I also have a license for, and removed the license on your website from my old computer. I can't activate version 4 on my work laptop either. I would try the offline activation, but I don't have that option - just says contact support error -11
Thank you - am I able to install Fences 5 on my personal AND work computer? Or am I limited to one install? Asking because I get an error -11 trying to activate from my work computer (after it's already successfully activated on my personal one)
Thanks for the info - where can I find a list of improvements between versions?
Thanks - I must say I'm super disappointed that version 5 is now subscription based. You just lost a loyal customer.
I purchased Fences version 4 and my laptop broke - I bought a new one and where can I download Fences version 4? Thanks
Let me ask first - should the snapping work horizontally, vertically or both? In other words, if I have rows and columns of rolled up fences, and I move a new fence to line up, will it align to the fence above it, aside of it, or both? See below as an example - the "RV STUFF" fence does not align to the ones next to it, but does snap to align with the one above it. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/66/95/6695273/6d535945-42d0-4d3a-afe9-3611507efc79.png" alt="" width="650" heigh
At this point, I could not live without Fences. However, I've always had an issue with it that never seems to get resolved. Perhaps it's because I have a high DPI laptop display? In any case - I keep my fences "rolled up" - so each fence has a different height when unrolled....so when I try to drag the fences and line them up (when rolled up), sometimes they "snap" where they should, and sometimes you just can't get the fence to snap where it should. Snapping just doesn't seem
While I agree moving "system files" is never a good idea, your "user" folders are made to be placed anywhere. I've resolved the issue by manually putting the icons back into their proper fence.
@webgizmos - an external drive will not help the C Drive space issue - if it can, I'm not sure how...I have plenty of room on the D drive, which is why I moved it there. Also, when you "move" the system folders as I did, you do not break any links - all the icons work. As I mentioned, I did not just move the folder manually - I used the system "move" option which you can do for the desktop, downloads, pictures, etc.... The only "links" I broke was
Hi All, My C drive was running out of space, so I moved my downloads folder and Desktop files to the D drive (I did this through Windows Explorer, using the MOVE function - which is the correct way - I did not simply move the folder). Rebooted, and of course now, all my icons are outside of the fences, scattered all over the desktop. Is there an easy way to correct this? Or do I have to manually drag all the icons back into their proper fence? (which would be a pain si
I've noticed this is not all applications - for instance, Chrome tabs do not go behind the taskbar. Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc do NOT go behind the taskbar. But some apps DO. For instance, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver - both go behind the taskbar.... Weird...
Before I go through all that, can you first tell me if the default functionality of Groupy is to NOT have a maximized window go behind the taskbar? If this happens for everyone, obviously purging and reinstalling will not help me.
I just noticed when I am using Groupy, and I have several applications grouped - if I maximize one of them - they all maximized - which is expected, but the problem is the bottom of the applications go BEHIND the Windows taskbar. So if the application (say, Photoshop, or Dreamweaver) have bottom icons, scrollbars, etc - you cannot access them unless you hide the taskbar. It would be good if when you maximize Groupy it goes up to the taskbar, and not behind it. (Like normal Windows max
For quite some time I've had the problem where the Fences would expand and contract on a delay. Even hovering over icons on the desktop would be delayed, and clicking to open an application would be delayed, sometimes by 5-10 seconds... Although this has improved with newer releases of Fences, the problem was still very noticeable and frustrating. I finally found a solution (at least for me) that makes the Fences and icons respond as they should. Without Fences installed, I do
Thanks for the note - I did the purge (again) and installed the latest version. So far so good! Very happy if this continues to work!
I have Win10 and latest version if Fences....this has been a problem for some time, I don't expect them to fix it - like the lag issue, it's not their priority because according to them, it doesn't affect many people. (that's what they told me)
I don't even know if there is a solution, but I find this to be so frustrating. Here's what happens (and this is just one example of the problem) I have a fence for business, and within that fence I have a "QuickBooks 2018" icon. If I launch that application, it obviously selects the icon first before it launches the app. Ok, so I do what I need to, close out of QuickBooks and I'm back on my desktop. Now let's say I create a new folder on my desktop and name it "My New Folder"
I've been dealing with this for 8+ months...I did everything Stardock said - reinstalls, diagnostics, ran their purge program countless times... They said there were only like 6-7 people having this problem - clearly, that is not the case. I'm not holding my breath for a fix anytime soon.
Issue with Fences 1st showing up is resolved after they sent me a BAT file to run - but the slow desktop issue is still there....
I just updated to 3.0.5.11 and still have two issues.... 1) I have to right click on the desktop to get Fences to show (Or open Windows Explorer - WINDOWS-E) 2) I can single click an icon on the desktop, and it takes 3-4 seconds for it to even highlight. (show that it's selected)....dragging is unbearable. Moving icons on the desktop is painfully slow. These issues were on the last version, and still this new version....I have a new Alienware Laptop, high end for
