Hello again, I am sure you have reported it in some release note (vainly tried to find it) so I use this thread just to say "Many thanks! ' for the "Force Light Mode" option. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. I suppose I need to uninstall Start11 again and revert to 2.6.0 (import backup settings) and then install 2.7.1 ?
I saw the beta v2.7.1 and assumed I would get that one when Start11 prompted me to update. Instead I got the 2.7.0.3 (april 22) so the same background as when started this thread. Regretfully so.
I will do that on the clean VM. Which I had restored to the previous Start11 (2.5?). Do you want me to do pick colour with 2.5 or update to 2.7 and do that with 2.7 ? thanks.
Thanks a lot. Let's wait and see. I guess Microsoft is making life increasingly more difficult for 3rd party developers... Thanks for the support so far. Have a great day.
I already have a VM (VMware Workstation) in place, a clean one, with only Directory Opus installed. Light Mode. Windows 11 x64 Pro. Gave it a try, same effect. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.u
Very sorry for responding so late. Did as you suggested. At uninstall I did -not- select the "Settings". Reason: was hoping it would not be necessary and just a re-install would fix the issue. Regretfully not: same situation. Gave 'Reset' a try and then imported the 16-04 settings. However, got the same effect. Resetting to default settings and going through all the window panels and settings, it was too much work. The screencaptures of all the
This is what I have (see below) (have made the width somewhat smaller) The 'tagged' colour is the one used as title bar colour (same as Windows 10) As said, restoring Start11 backup of 16-04 did not change anything. Oh... wait a minute, maybe I should reboot after the restore? Don't know. Best regards from Start11 dummy .. Good day to you, Thank you very much for your quick reply. It is Windows 11 x64 Pro v25H2 26200.8246 In Light mode. As for the .ini in the registry, I am afraid I can't be of much help to you. Just FWIW The 'Start11' colour in Windows 7 style, right panel (where it says: Settings, Control panel, Devices and Printers, etc.) New: #26679A Old: #055592 Best regards <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/66/95
Just installed 2.7 update. The Start menu (Windows 7 style) shows a blue background, it was white. Restored settings (April 16), but that did not help. Is this correct? Thanks
Thanks. Sorry for the late response. I did not notice there was a reply. Again, very sorry. It seems (...) to have something to do with Windows 11 All kinds of technical matters like: incomplete rendering, missing UI elements, XAML host corruption, matters 'normal end-users' never heard of... :-) I let it rest. In case of settings, for example, the workaround is: try and resize the small settings panel, one gets a big blue window panel, then again use start > sett
Hello again, Many thanks for your confirmation. Then I have to dig further... Funny, when, finally, I can resize the window, it will fill with just blue, the source remaining the same. Anyway, again, thanks. Have a nice day.
As the title says: when right clicking on the taskbar, so as to access the settings, the taskbar settings window is showing up in a very small pop-up left hand top corner. The window can not be resized. Clicking on it will make it disappear again. This happened a few times now. Like this. . Could this have something t
Sorry for the delay. Had no time, will try tomorrow. Thanks a lot.
Hello to you, Thanks a lot. It seems it has something to do with Windows 11 acting differently from 10. Windows in Dark Mode, frankly, for me, it is not really an option. No offense meant, don't get me wrong. I don't like 'dark modes' in any application. However..., I did find quite a nice Start11 built in solution: 1. Enable "Enhanced taskbar settings" (gradient colour) 2. In 'Colour' select White Looks fine. Thanks again.<
My Windows 10 taskbar has color #022442 Fonts are white, no problem. Imported settings into Start11 v2.6 on Windows 11, but the fonts are black as well. How to get white fonts, similar to Windows 10 ? Thanks.
Am not the TS, but nonetheless, thanks for the above, great solution. I wasn't aware of it. Solved my activation problem. Thanks again!
Installed latest version of Start11 on Windows 11 Pro on Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ Regretfully the details on the right of the tasbar (like date-time) are hardly visible, black font I believe. On Windows 10 (same taskbar colour) no problem. I simply backup up Start11 on Windows 10 and restored it on 11. It's fine except for the font colour. How/where to set this?? Thanks! <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/66/95/66950
Thanks. In my case it involves Start11 only. Does restoring bring back the colours etc.?
Please allow me to step in here. It is not my thread, I know, but it is about the same matter and I would just like to verify whether I am understanding things correctly. So, if I backup the abovementioned registry and restore that after a fresh install, then all the settings, including colours, etc. are restored? What do I have restore manually? (no program entries I suppose) Do I need to backup from \Stardock-level or the sub entry \Start8 ? Thank you! <
Just a short question: do you think this will be solved some day? Meaning to say the laptop taskbar to be identical to the PC taskbar, i.e. the program icons on laptop taskbar to have their own actual colours (green, yellow, red, etc.) instead of being black. Date-Time to show up with white font, instead of black. Thanks!
"Subscribe to this post" and "Email me when someone replies" are both tagged, by default. Posts show up under "Profile > Subscriptions" > "You are currently subscribed to ... posts" My email address is correct. Thanks. That might be a solution. However... I don't like 'Dark mode', sorry. On my desktop PC I don't have dark mode set either. But... I admit, that is good old Windows 10. Probably in Windows 11 it becomes a bit more difficult. One has to spend a lot of time on searching. (Just as an example: Windows 10, :Never combine taskbar buttons" can't find in taskbar settings of Window11 and a "Taskbar>Search" for Combine taskbar - no hits) <br
Start11 On my desktop the taskbar items (on the right hand bottom) show up like this: On my laptop, also Start11 with taskbar colour RGB: 0,35,66 the items are black (solid) So, like this <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/66/95/6695028/c1b6572
That extra option is a bug. It is a duplicate of the configure menu link directly below the substyle drop down.
Whereas I overlooked the dropdown button initially. [e digicons]|-)[/e] Anyway, matter solved. have made screenshots of all settings, so, in case of a fresh Windows install, things are set in eyewink. Have a nice day.
