Thank you again. Indeed I just 'discovered' this, as I coincidentally resized the 'Start Menu-panel'. Then, at the bottom, the submenu options showed up. Matter solved. Thanks! <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/66/95/6695028/114b8697-329e-4e2e-a110-00a9e8

Start11 > All Programs The list is big containing a lot of apps that I never use, like: 3D Viewer, Alarms & Clock, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Cortana, Diagnostic Data Viewer, Feedback Hub, Films & TV, ... etc. etc... . upto Xbox Console Companion, Xbox Game Bar. Unsure how to remove them from the list so to make the list shorter. Appreciate advice. Thanks!

Sorry to say, but I have spent quite some time going back and forth trying to figure out the Start10 settings in v11. I have setup Start10 exactly as I want, visually, colours, etc. Start11 has more items to choose from and I have vainly been trying to figure out which Start11 option corresponds with the Start10 option. Hopefully someone can give me some tips, or where to find info about the 'conversion' from 10 > 11. <img src="https://cdn.stardo

I just finished installing Start11 on my Windows 10 x64 system and went thru all the settings.. Start11 adopted a few settings from my Start10, there were a number of settings that I had to do manually. I have a laptop still on Windows 10, but being fully compatible with Windows 11 and am considering to upgrade. There are two ways to do this: 1. perform the upgrade from Windows 10 2. install from USB and format the entire C-drive and do a clean install <br

Ah! Great, thank you very much. Really appreciated. I didn't know one could actually pin in Start10. Super. A small 'trick': when opening a file and closing it, the file won't show up in Start10. At least not with me. The 'workaround' (in Excel) - copy paste some empty cell - save the file and it will show up when hovering over Excel. Again, thanks! (I'll have to see whether the pinned items will stick: the files are stored withi

I am still on WIndows 10 and Start10... (Start in Windows 7 style) When I hover over Excel or Word the right panel shows the " Recent " file list. When I hover over EditPadPro the right panel will shows " Frequent " file list. Both limited to 9 files. First I do not know whether this can be configured at all, second, IF it can be configured, where to do that, i.e. is this a Start10 matter or Windows 10 ? For Excel, I would

It was my mistake, I used the wrong search box, the Windows instead of start 10 search box. When using the 'Type here to search' and pinning from there, it ends up in Windows 10 Menu. I should have used 'Search programs and files' [e digicons][/e]

First of all: I am deeply sorry for the delay. It slipped my mind to reply. because the matter was solved. Again sorry. As said, I manually added the actual .exe files to Start10, i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE C:\Program Files (x86)\Mi

I assumed it was Edge, but it appeared not to be the case. In my case : a clean Windows 10 x64 system, installed Office 365. Taking your video, after about 3 seconds, Start Menu Then click on All Programs It shows Office applications with the tiny buttons (see my 1st screenshot above, left), whereas normally

Yes, indeed, the matter has been solved. I was given the advice to search for the .exe files, then r-click/add them to the start menu (in this case to Start10 menu). However, by that time I already had installed Office 365 about 6 times(!) in between restoring the clean Windows image. I always create a 'configured Windows' image before starting installing software. ('Configured' means, how I want Windows to be, like in this case, I don't want the Windows star

Thank you! Just an additional note: the Windows on the laptop was 'clean', so only Edge Chromium and Start10. The 'next thing' I intended to install was Office 365. I followed the correct steps. As said, the installs as such, they went fine, nothing wrong with that. Just the wrong buttons ended up in start menu. The 'tiny' buttons in the start menu (left) they launch the webbrowser version of Excel, Outlook, Word. Installed Office a number of time

Over the last 1-2 days I have been busy trying to install Office 365. The installation went fine. However... each and every time only the 'online version' of Office was added to the Start10-menu, i.e. Outlook, Excel running within Edge Chromium instead of the actual application: Excel.exe, Outlook.exe, etc. No other applications were installed, only Start10 and Edge Chromium. After a Windows reset, removing all settings, Office was installed properly.<b

Thank you. Frankly, I already did have a look there, but noticed sub folders in the Start8\Start8.ini key, such as NewShortcuts, Pinned, Recent, etc. Wheras I am assuming that the actual interface changes (colours etc.) may be stored in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 If I were to export the key from the 1st Start8 (the one immediat

I have a few licenses on Start10 and have a question about transferring Start10 settings from 1 PC to another. Scenario: <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size:

FWIW Initially I could not update as well. Did a full uninstall of Start10 v1.61 (using an uninstaller tool that removed all registry settings and all Start10 folders on C:\ ) Then followed by a reboot and a new install. (Windows 10 x64)

I know, I am talking about SkinStudio 10, but out of the trillion elements, I just wanted to know which one to select. Also I discovered that the "Precision" skin seems to have a black font for the desktop icons. I want them to be white, same as the defaults so to say. =

9 Replies 7,105 Views

I'll to explain a little further. Have 'MyPrecision' (copy of Precision and adjusted title bar color) put next to my current Windows Explorer replacement in 1 screenshot. Basically three things I would like to adjust, or better, as a newbie, give it a TRY to adjust. Maybe I am lucky, maybe not BTW I don't want -wider- borders, instead, they should be (very) thin. It is a matter of taste, obviously, but the 'default' skin, has th

Sorry for the big screenshot. please allow me to step in here, being a newbie. @ neone6 Many thanks!! that item was what I was looking for. I'd like to make some other changes to my copy of Precision (MyPrecision) succeeded to change the dark color, but would like to make some other changes.

Okay, many thanks. Well, frankly, by now I have spent a lot of time trying all styles, see how they look like when using applications (incl. file open/save, scrolling, selecting files and see how they are marked, etc.) trying to figure out how to adjust them. Tried Skinstudio, went through many examples on the Wincustomize website. Made an awful lot of screenshot, whilst comparing each style, and so on and so on. In the end, I returned to the def

I think I have found a better style, at least one that suites -me- better (with all due respect to the makers of all other styles). Have no applied 'Precision' (Windows 8)(Preset) by Stardock Design. If I would like to a few things changed, should I then ask Stardock? Or should I ask someone else? Or post elsewhere? How to proceed? Thanks =

Wait! My 'mistake' I guess I applied Acrylic 7 to the host-pc Se the difference - specifically the font. Ahum . . . Probably within VMware WindowBlinds reacts differently. Sorry...
