As for how I got 4.12 I went to https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products , logged into my account, click "View Individual Downloads" under the "Object Desktop Manager" category, which downloaded this file - Fences4_setup_sd.exe Here's a capture of the About box <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/4/68/468280/1c2bef08-905c-438f-a47c-2af52959ac09.png" alt="" width="8

Any update to my original question after 9+ months? [e digicons]*_*[/e]
I had to do a manual download of the latest Fences 4 as my Object Desktop kept failing with a file integrity error when trying to update the software. I notice the manual download of Fences installed v4.12 but it is not mentioned in your forums? Is 4.12 a recent release?
I see the Stardock support team is very active - not. :(
I'd just like to confirm the renewal emails from "mailer@fastspring.com" are legitimate? My Google Gmail is flagging them as phishing emails.

Just letting you know the "Visit Website" button in the About Start10 window (v1.91) causes a phishing warning in Malwarebytes. Black boxes, icons doing their own thing, sometimes icons aren't clickable, Fences hangs up after booting into window[/quote] Bingo. I remember the problem started happening a couple of days or so before Xmas. I started getting all the symptoms you listed above. I will log a bug report when I get back from va
Long time Fences user here. A recent Windows 10 (Dec 2016) update has unfortunately broken Fences 3. I run two desktops and one laptop all with Windows 10 and Fences and all three suffer from hangs or frozen desktops at the point that Fences loads. Sometimes I can solve the issue by rebooting but it does not permanently solve the freezing issue. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Fences but no joy with the same freezing problem. I originally thought it might be a display driver issue
