There was no vemon intended in my post, so I apologize if it came across that way. I guess it's easy on the Internet to misinterept posts when the poster himself doesn't use a bunch of emoticons to reinforce no ill will. BTW, I was calling myself dumb as I thought maybe I had misunderstood how Escalation stood in the grand scheme of things. ie. I thought Escalation was supposed to replace Vanilla, not be an optional playstyle until I was in the middle of writin

Brad, I don't know if you realized this or not, but some of us purchased the DLC maps once Escalation was announced with no intention of ever playing them in Ashes Vanilla. Personally I just wanted them for Escalation. I'm beginning to wonder if that was a dumb thing to do? I wonder if I miscalculated what this was all about and the goals of the new game. Is there even an ETA on any of the paid maps being available in Escalation? Please don't be afrai

Good morning Stardock :) You should watch this and try to argue that this was not us last night having pizza. Hilarious! You all are amazing, and I wish I' d had more time. Give the video a minute to load. http://www.jeffpinard.com/NoWeeniesAllowed.wmv note: I love SpongeBob hehe. (and apparently typos and poor grammar late at night)

The staff actually posts here. What an amazing difference that makes. After Soren's wonderful respones from the Civ Fans I'm surprised 2kGames or Firaxis decided to hit the "mute" button on everyone. And of course the ironic contrast is that in fact, I'd daresay it's quite pleasant here! Cheerio! :)

[quote who="Thormodr" reply="162" id="2864916"]I was a playtester for Firaxis since Civ3, and know a couple (now laid off) members of the team, so I got some level of insight into their development team, and basically I think Soren fucked them by quitting, and left them lacking in real experienced staff. 2k then denied them any real resources to hire anyone with development experience, so they were force to promote an intern to lead developer. The truth of the matter is t

Domicron, I'm curious, where is that last quote from? 2kgames has arguably some of the industry's best talent with brilliant studios working for them. But for years they've played Russian Roulette with their books and the SEC. I can't help but wonder what this does to the franchises that aren't their core business.

Hey Jon. Ignore the idiots as best you can. I'm relieved you'll finally be able to interact with fans and actually have a voice which appears to be something Firaxis and/or 2KGames didn't allow you to do post-release. That was a massive Fail on their part and is a big reason for much of the inititial and continued negative PR. I hope Firaxis/2K fixes this, and not through the silly "community manager" thing they're doing. I know Greg & Liz do

[quote who="Jon Shafer" reply="16" id="2860255"] Greetings all! Proud to be joining the Stardock team, and expect to work on a lot of great projects here in the future. There's been some assumptions here about what my joining Stardock will mean for the games the studio will be putting out from now on. Fear not all - they'll be clearly recognizable as Stardock games. One thing that I will say though, is that Stardock's games are awfully complex, and probably need to be streamli
