Please capture and post, on any video sharing site, a video of this happening so we can understand the issue better.
I don't know what you need to see in the video. This time I had the behaviour with Firefox on the primary monitor. https://t.ly/whkTO

Happening for me, too, on secondary monitors. Windows 11 24H2 26100.1742, Start11 2.11. At the moment I can see it with both Teams and the Windows Settings app.
I suspect the percentage using a vertical taskbar is somewhat smaller. Unfortunately as we have noted before, the techniques used by that are simply not viable for commercial software . It has been broken twice this year already and caused crashes I believe when it was broken. The extra sales we might make using that method would cost us more in support costs and carry the continual threat of
Checking in on this thread but I see no progress on the left-side task bar, nor even an indication that Stardock is considering implementing it. Living with the patcher on Windows 11 for now, it's certainly not as nice but the left-side taskbar is a must-have for me. Maybe some day Stardock will reconsider, or maybe someone else will release a comparable package with left-side taskbar support.
Am running Explorer Patcher with Windows 11 now. Would prefer Stardock but unless/until they decide to support the left-side menu EP is good enough for me.
"At the mercy of Microsoft" is a bit much when others can manage it. In any case, Stardock is simply ignoring this topic, and the needs of the people interested in this functionality, not indicating at all what they intend to do. I feel like Stardock has abandoned my needs, so abandoning Stardock seems to be the only option for me. You may have different priorities, of course, and it could be that Stardock is still the best choice for you.
No commitment from Stardock for over a year, so my Windows 11 laptop is using ExplorerPatcher instead of Start11.
Very disappointing that a right or left-side option remains unavailable in Stardock Start 11. I have had this product (actually Start 8) since about 6 years ago, and bought multiple licenses in the past. Eventually including Object desktop too. Unfortunately, this total lack of regard for adding this feature despite all this feedback is very disappointing. I see this as a deal-breaker and will look into other options; ironical
seems sadly in the new win11 beta build the Start11+Explorer Patcher combo no longer works : the enhanced windowed gaming feature vs left side taskbar is a difficult choice *edit: I got it working, but had to play with the settings of both to get it to work properly
@joyo2, what did you need to do?
Features are looked at based on customer feedback and top and bottom taskbar modes are used by more people so they get priority to be implemented first. Vertical taskbars are also a little more complicated on Windows 11 if you want to use the proper Windows 11 taskbar which nothing else does. I cannot promise if we will support this or not yet as Windows 11 is a constantly moving target
Yeah. There are some tool combinations (Explorer Patcher + TaskbarX etc) that kind of do that, but then you're messing with getting everything working together. I'd really prefer Start11. But if Stardock is not going to do it, I'll find another way. Taskbar on the bottom is a non-starter.
Does Explorer Patcher handle that better? Do I need to give up on Start11? It would be awfully nice to get some comment/commitment from Stardock, it has been total silence since November.
This is by far the most popular thread on the forum. But no sign of a moveable taskbar yet in version 1.1 or 1.11, or indication of it being included in 1.2. 😥
Another vote for the vertical taskbar, it doesn't make sense to me to have it on top or bottom on a monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio. I bought Start11 today, assuming it would be a standard feature of a Start Menu and Taskbar Tool. Would it be possible to get an indication if this feature will come for Start11?
Neil Bannock implied a month ago (earlier in this thread) that it might be coming, but no indic
Neil, thanks for the info, this is already helpful. What’s the rough timeframe for v1.1?
It would be nice if Stardock would implement the same (or at least respond here) so that we would not need to choose between switching and losing the vertical menu.
Another vote for supporting a taskbar on the left! Especially on a laptop the vertical space is precious so this is key for me.
The next Start11 update will support it if you put the taskbar at the top in win11 and even animate the correct direction.
Only at the top, or also on left or right side?
Winaero tweaker has the ability to move task bar. But it doesn't play nice with start11. But for the time being if you can put up with windows 11 start menu you can have either on bottom left or right or top. I use it to make the task bar smaller. As long as I keep the start bar on the bottom it plays well with Start11.
Thanks. If Start11 doesn't add this, I may end up doing Winaero instead, I can pro

Release notes only include 1.08 and 1.10, not 1.09 or 1.11. Have been having some instability with build 14352, not sure whether it's Explorer or Start10 or the combination.
It works fine for me with the 1.0 release version. Earlier versions did have the problem, but now the menu shows on whatever monitor I click the start button on. I wonder whether you might possibly have a partial upgrade, some part remaining from pre-1.0?
The strange thing is that my list only shows four items ... and I do use much more than that.
I'll add my vote for this option!
