The same issue is present. I am keeping Start 11 off the computer for the foreseeable future. Fences is too important a utility for me as I use it throughout the day. I cant have it crashing all of the time. Hope you all can fix this as I am not the only one with the issue.
Srick
Desktop Explorer.exe not the browser.
And today Internet Explorer crashed right away. It was fine most of yesterday, then today, it was almost like a buffer overflowed. So the issue may very well still be the 'Fences crashing' problem
And I spoke too soon. I was able to get the crash again by playing around in settings - in this case, altering the 'visual performance' menu did it. Display Adapter is an NVidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. Dell Optiplex 8940. I have always wondered if this issue had something to do with the display adapter, even though you wouldn't think there would be a connection. But once again, the crash was replicated by working within settings.
Presently on Start11 v1.2 - but this happened in the beta too. The crash problem has been occurring for the last three or four months. It started after one of the prior Windows updates. And, I was never sure whether the problem was Fences or Start 10\11. It was triggered both randomly and especially when a 'check for updates' request was sent through settings. In fact, any time that settings was opened, a crash was imminent. Explorer would crash and then it was a crap shoot as to whet
I was about to ask if Groupy had the ability to 'remember' groups and launch them from a shortcut or if you have to 'assemble' them each time you log on, which is what Srick is getting at, I think.
Yes - exactly.. and think of how usable a fence would be if it too was a tabbed with subfolders.
So the one thing I am missing in Groupy is a semi-permanent setup - IOW, remember my setups (ie. just an explorer window with file names) and prevent me from closing tabs. After a short test run I must say that Groupy works very well - I'm still thinking of new uses for it. And for your next trick, how about a tabbed feature on Fences ? [e digicons]:D[/e]
