I may have inadvertantly run across a work around. In my case the Tab Group was composed of Portal Fence tabs. I noticed that a second Tab Group had several Portal Fence Tabs and one Desktop Fence Tab (Ie: not a Portal Tab) The second Tab Group with the one Desktop Fence Tab does not leak the underlying Desktop Fences through. I added a Desktop Fence Tab to the first Tab Group which was leaking the Desktop Fence Tabs through and that stopped the issue. I have

I think my problem is the same. Basically, when I rollover a Tab in a Tab Group it unrolls over several fixed Fences. If I click in the unrolled Fence all of the fixed Fences display which disrupts use of the unrolled Fence. Made sure that transparency of unrolled fence was 0. Win 11, Fences 6.2, Chrome. All totally up-to-date. This toally defeats the purpose of a rolled up Tab Group.
Thanks Basj That will take me a couple of days. I will be in touch. Wayne Hewitt
Unfortunately I now note that new icons are not appearing in the designated Fence 'Unfiled' I removed the separate routing of the various file types and re-enabled the default selection. I have tried creating Folders and Files in two different Drives and using two different Fences (IE: multiple tests) None have appeared in the destination Fence. I am able to move an icon into the destination Fences using the mouse so the Fence is operational from that point of vi
This issue was in Version 4 and is the same in Version 5 I have a Fence named UNFILED set up to hold all newly created Folders, Files, Music, etc. I recently created some new Folders in Desktop via File Manager. They appeared in my Unfiled Fence and I can not remove them. If I try to put them back into the Desktop they will not do so as the source and destination Folders are the same. I don't recall this having been an issue previously. I tried sett
It could well be, but I can change both the Icon Font and the System Font with Winaero Tweaker and both changes are reflected in Fences with the exception that Icons in Portal Fences have clean text and Icons in regular Fences have shadowed text. It still seems to me that Fences must treat the Font Text differently in the two types of Fences. I suppose that I could reconfigure such that all of my Fences are Portal types.
I think that the easiest way to do this would be a box with the color/setting numeric value at the end of each of the bars. The value would reflect the current position on the bar. It could be an actual color number or a simple 0-100 scale. Ideally it would have the ability to move up or down numerically without having to touch the slider.
The font used under icons in a normal Fence has a drop shadow. The font used in Portal Fences does not. These shadows render the text very hard to read if you have a sight issue. Changes in the System Font (via Winaero Tweaker) do appear to change the font but retain the shadow. This strongly suggests it is a Fences issue. This has happened to me previously and I was able to override it but this time it appears here to stay There have been va
Is there any way to simultaneously change the View of multiple cascading Folders in a Fence or Portal? or perhaps an app wide default which can be set in the Registry? This seems to have been brought up repeatedly for several years, at least since 2016, but been ignored so far as I can see.
Running Win 11, Fences 4 on a new machine - nothing carried over so it is reasonably clean. If I have a Fence with a number of files, and I use the mouse to cover all of the files so as to select them all, Fences always misses the upper left file and often the file below it. Pink is the Fence. Purple is the physical area selected using the mouse. Light purple is actual files the mouse selected. Note that the mouse is in the upper left but the
I, as I suspect everyone does, also have this issue of Fences moving Fences. I am running Win 11 and Fences 4, both fully up to date. I have three monitors; 1, 2, 3. Primary Monitor is 2. The fences on 3 usually, not always, and not always all of them, end up on 2 . As an added bonus, folders and files on 1 often, but not always, and not always all of them, move to 2.
I am trying to install various Object Desktop apps onto Win 11. Every time I open Object Desktop it tells me that Windows Blinds 11 needs to be updated. When I tell it to update it downloads and installs the complete app and tells me to reboot. I reboot and it immediately displays Object Desktop and tells me it needs updating. I have cleared the cache and cookies as well as uninstalled Windows Blinds 11. No change except the 'Update' status changes to 'Inst
I am running a lot of Fences and a few Portals on two monitors of a three monitor setup. Win 10 Pro 20H2 (OS build 19042, 1415) and Fences 3.1.3.3. Fences tells me there are no updates but I see there is a Version 4 out. Fences often re-initializes (sometimes minutes apart) with no particular pattern I can see. I monitor RAM, CPU and Disk in real time and none are in distress. Keystrokes and clicks not yet executed are lost so it would appear to be a buffer ove
I have read a number of posts concerning Fences running slowly. They can generally be summed up as Fences running slowly, run the very old purge routine and reinstall, did that, no improvement, hmmm - nobody else has that issue, end of discussion. I too have a slowness, slowing problem. I
It turns out I have somehow inadvertently copied nearly a thousand files and shortcuts into a Fence that normally has only fifty or so. The slowness was because Fences had to juggle that one very large fence.
I have noticed that moving icons between Fences is very slow and have learned the hard way not to do anything else until the move is complete - about 10 seconds per move. Does anyone know if this is a Fences issue or an underlying Win 10 issue?
ICON FONT COLOR Allow a way to override the Icon Text Font color. I find the Windows insistence that it knows better very frustrating.
PRECISION SIZING AND POSITIONING Consider allowing precision sizing and positioning using cursor keys. Perhaps while holding a mouse click on the Title Bar. A real plus would be to show the coordinates of the screen position while it is being moved and have them available for future viewing in the upper left information dropdown.
OK, I did a clean reboot. Fences worked fine so I began re-enabling processes and restarting. Re-enabled all processes in sections and Fences still working as it should with all re-enabled. Did a 'normal' reboot on the new clean ID. Fences still working. Went back to my normal login (which is also an Admin). Fences behaves as it did previously, limited rows. Disabled all processes on this ID, still limited rows but it see
https://imgur.com/a/dCUTMH9 I have a number of Rolled Up Fences of the same width positioned one above the other such that each one unrolls over top of those below. When I boot/reboot the scroll bars for each of these Fences displays even though the Fences are all rolled up. The scroll bars persist Fence by Fence until I unr
Thanks BTW, this behavior started before the last couple of Win updates
COLOR MANAGEMENT Considering that there must be some sort of index behind the color sliders it would be useful to have the slider positions displayed at the end of the rows. This would allow the easy replication of net colors to other Fences either by sliding to specific positions, or perhaps by simply entering the position. A more complex solution wold be to assign and display a complex number/code which would represent the entire net effect of the sliders - ie: a code wh

I am running a purchased copy of Fences 3.0.9.11 on a fully up to date Win 10 Pro. It has always behaved well but it has taken to not allowing more than 5 rows of icons in any new Fence. This results in it adding columns rather than depth. It did not used to do this – I have Fences with 10 or more rows. I recently ran Windows utilities DISM and SCF. SCF repaired a couple of items. I
I am using v2.13 on Win 10. The font used on normal fence icons has changed (I changed nothing) from a normal Arial type font to a bold font with shadows which I have difficulty reading. I can see how and where to change font size and color but I have not found any way to change the font itself. The icon fonts in a folder fence are OK. The fonts in windows explorer are OK. Any suggestions?
