Unable To Remove Newly Created Desktop Folders Out Of Fence

This issue was in Version 4 and is the same in Version 5

I have a Fence named UNFILED set up to hold all newly created Folders, Files, Music, etc.  I recently created some new Folders in Desktop via File Manager.  They appeared in my Unfiled Fence and I can not remove them. If I try to put them back into the Desktop they will not do so as the source and destination Folders are the same.  I don't recall this having been an issue previously.

I tried setting up a Portal to a specific Folder not on the Desktop to use for Unfiled but Portals do not have the same sorting and organizing ability as Fences.

I haven't tried this with Files but I expect the same issue if they are created on the Desktop.

Has anyone got any thoughts on whether this is a new 'feature' or if I am overlooking something?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It might be the issue is caused by Locked Fences while in Fences 4 and you did not unlock it before installing Fences 5. Please use this guide to enable "Lock Fence" function in Fences 5 and check if your fences is lock and unlock it. https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1621360668/Show+%22Lock+Fences%22+in+Fences+5

Thank you.

Unfortunately I now note that new icons are not appearing in the designated Fence 'Unfiled'

I removed the separate routing of the various file types and re-enabled the default selection.

I have tried creating Folders and Files in two different Drives and using two different Fences (IE: multiple tests)

None have appeared in the destination Fence.  I am able to move an icon into the destination Fences using the mouse so the Fence is operational from that point of view.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
