Fence Icon Text Font Has An Annoying Shadow

Font In Portal Fences different from Font in Normal Fences

The font used under icons in a normal Fence has a drop shadow.  The font used in Portal Fences does not.  These shadows render the text very hard to read if you have a sight issue.  Changes in the System Font (via Winaero Tweaker) do appear to change the font but retain the shadow.  This strongly suggests it is a Fences issue.

This has happened to me previously and I was able to override it but this time it appears here to stay

There have been various posts concerning this topic but so far as I can see there have been no answers forthcoming.  I am on Win 11, Fences 4 - both fully up to date.

I understand that there is a bug in the new Windows update which now forces text shadows on the desktop.

This will also happen without Fences being installed.

It could well be, but I can change both the Icon Font and the System Font with Winaero Tweaker and both changes are reflected in Fences with the exception that Icons in Portal Fences have clean text and Icons in regular Fences have shadowed text.  It still seems to me that Fences must treat the Font Text differently in the two types of Fences.  I suppose that I could reconfigure such that all of my Fences are Portal types.

Yes that's normal as normal fences are part of the desktop and folder portals are not.
