I like changing the background picture on the start menu but it is too many clicks to get to my pics, would it be possible to add a way to have just a right click option to add a pic from PC ?
Restarted PC and it runs now, but still won't show up in the Sys Tray.
I really want to like this program, I have deskscapes 11 but uninstalled it because of constant problems, hoping for better with this

To check if DeskScapes 2026 starts correctly at Windows boot you should open Windows Task Manager with

Use Winver.exe to get these numbers. Deskscapes version install. Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant.
After hours of trying to find the cause of my recent memory issue, suddenly 95% memory usage and high explorer.exe usage I discovered that disabling Deskscapes service was the only thing that fixed it. I like this program but it has not been updated in a long time, please let us know that it has been discontinued

Does Stardock intend to fix this with an update or should I migrate to a competitor that fixes this (yes, startallback fixes this annoying thing)?
Install windhawk then the mod

Install winaero tweaker, it is a good program and one of the things you can do is disable the taskbar previews
No and I am not going through that, this doesn't happen all the time so even if I did that and the problem does not show it means nothing
Any chance of this being fixed soon?
Having same problem and sometimes the thumbnails do not go away, it is to the point of being unusable
Why do you need to use Task manager to stop it? Just apply a wallpaper via the Personalisation->Background->Pick a picture-> That will auto stop Deskscapes.
