I received a popup notice that there was an update for Start 11 v2, so I clicked and applied it. Just like the previous times I've done this in the past, the app then fails to work. The Settings menu comes up, and everything looks OK, but the taskbar doesn't change from the default Windows 11. This also happens with Groupy updates. I then have to got to Startdock.com and download the current version, and install it over the supposedly updated but not not working installation. Then it works.</

Does not work for me either -- Fences don't popup through other app displays. Also, doesn't show desktop.
ObjectDock not supported on Windows 10? (see the link) Well, I guess that's right (listed for 8/7), but I'm a long time user, until yesterday. I've begun having lagging problems, particularly with YouTube videos sound, and with the cursor movement. So, I started hunting for causes/solutions. I have noticed sometimes that ObjectDock fails to load after restarting PC, and instead then loads from a saved copy. Although a little sluggish at times, otherwise OD has seemed to work fine. But
Been a long time user of Fences; upgraded to ver 4, thought Peek would be useful. But it doesn't work. Show desktop doesn't work either. Have reinstalled app. Still doesn't work. Looks like many others have same problem. Come on Support, give us some clear responses, not just a whole bunch of trouble reports in Forum! On Windows 10, latest update.
Sorry, clean boot and more diagnostic attempts are too disruptive to getting work done. I reinstalled ver 1.47. I hope a future update will correct the problem I have with 1.49.1
@SDRohan Have Win 10 Home, not Pro. Not currently trying to group Word 2010 -- fails to group more than 2 apps -- Evernote 10, FileCenter 11.0, TheBrain 10, Obsidian, Firefox, PDF app, etc. All these have worked fine until the 1.49 update of Groupy.
@basj Thanks, but purging, restarting, reinstalling from new download, and restarting again doesn't change this strange behavior; it's still the same, groups one on top of one, but refuses to group one on top of two already grouped, unless first grouped with another stand alone app/window; then can be pulled off group of two and grouped with another group of two. Saved groups of three will load and group automatically together, but trying to add another to a group of two or three is refused -
Just established that this behavior isn't limited to Scrivener and the other two -- it also is happening with MS Word 2010 -- will only group two windows at a time, and ignores the right-click option on the 3 dots to group all of the same app, in this case, Word.
Strange Behavior on 1.49.1 -- Scrivener won't insert where two others are grouped, but will, if first grouped with one other. This behavior started with update to 1.49.1. I normally keep three apps grouped together: File Center, Firefox, and Scrivener. Now, Scrivener won't insert with the other two. I have Outlook open on another monitor, and when I drag and drop Scrivener to Outlook, it groups. I can then drag it from that group back to the FC and FF group, and it inserts. Never had
@Basj. thanks. Before seeing your reply, I just downloaded the setup from my account, reinstalled w/o any purge or uninstall, and then Groupy was working again. But, as I said, this seems to happen every time there is an update. Maybe I should just download the setup and install from that in the future, rather than clicking the Update button.
Every time I get a popup notice of a Groupy Update, and click to install it, then restart the PC, the Groupy UI pops up on restart, and says it is not running, and when I try to start it, it says the Service is not running, and to reinstall Groupy. This problem has happened with updates as far back as I can remember. I'm getting so I don't want to update anymore -- if it ain't broken, don't fix it will be my rule. Restarting again gives same result. Have to then download and r
Thanks for quick response Basj, Windows 10 ver 1909, build 18363.720 Doesn't work with any apps that I just tried -- Evernote Desktop, Priority Matrix Pro, Copernic Desktop Search, Windows File Explore, Chrome. Don't think it works with MS Outlook, Neo Pro, Firefox either, best I remember. Doesn't work with anything as far as I know. Been having this problem before latest 1.32 Groupy update too, and probably with earlier builds of 1909. I've tried switching to
In Groupy Settings, have to chose either instant grouping, or group with Ctrl key held down. The options to delay grouping for 1/3, 2/3, one second don't work. Just won't group with those. Would be great if they did. Using latest Groupy 1.32 on Windows 10 1909 version
I am getting a somewhat (perhaps) related problem with multiple monitors and Windows 10 -- three monitors; and Outlook.exe 2010; with Outlook and Firefox grouped and displayed in the center monitor, in less than full screen, when I open an email by clicking on it, the entire group window shifts to partly on the monitor to the left. I then have to pull it back, and reduce the size. <div style=

[quote who="hwedhlor" reply="3" id="3717815"] In attempting to remove 1xuninstall.cmd from the folder Fences I found that it was first necessary to go to Task Manager/Processes and End the task "Windows host process (Rundll32). Once that was done I could delete 1xuninstall.cmd and the installation process for verison 3.0.9 ran to completion. A restart of my PC, which is running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, brought Fences 3.0.9.11 online. Clearly this update installation process is f
I got my desktop icons back, but not Fences, by doing this: <div class="techheader tech_block
I have same experience with the update -- all fences and desktop icons disappeared, downloaded trial fences won't install, with same error messages. Clearly this is a buggy update that has created major problems! Now if I can only find a copy of fences.exe.
I downloaded Start10 again, reinstalled, and now working OK.
Just installed the update today. Now, Win10 menu won't come up. Tried changing Start10 configuration, to reverse start menu options. Still doesn't work. Tried restarting Windows several times.
