Groupy Updates Fail and Require Reinstalling

Every time I get a popup notice of a Groupy Update, and click to install it, then restart the PC, the Groupy UI pops up on restart, and says it is not running, and when I try to start it, it says the Service is not running, and to reinstall Groupy.

This problem has happened with updates as far back as I can remember. I'm getting so I don't want to update anymore -- if it ain't broken, don't fix it will be my rule.

Restarting again gives same result. Have to then download and reinstall and restart.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling. Just make sure to re-download the latest version direct from your account, here: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products .

Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,

@Basj. thanks. Before seeing your reply, I just downloaded the setup from my account, reinstalled w/o any purge or uninstall, and then Groupy was working again.

But, as I said, this seems to happen every time there is an update. Maybe I should just download the setup and install from that in the future, rather than clicking the Update button.
