Oh yeah, I've tried all the suggestions including the /proxyserveronly switch, re-setting the router, checking my speednet connection. C'mon guys, you know it's not a problem on *my* end lol.
It's not on your end? Then where is the problem coming from? Pretty much everyone is playing online fine. Are you saying that Gas Powered Games has code in there to single you out? Remember when people complained about the short duration of the coupon's validity? Seems too long now doesn't it? Imagine having months of this.
I will still give the game a review score of 86 Today. I never thought reviewers would take consider multiplayer issues in the review. I had to play the multiplayer connection game through out beta. It might be fine for you, but I remember there were still multiplayer issues even 1 week before release. The healing and movement bug was there in beta and that's my opinion. If you it worked for you, then that's great.

I really wish all this including the multiplayer issues were fix before the game launched. I guess this is the difference between a small budget game vs. a big budget game. The healing bug, movement bug, AI stupidness existed in beta before release. i guess time and budget was used up. you guys already paid the price... oh well, hope to see this release tomorrow.
Gee, I remember being in the beta and I don't remember
I'm pretty sure Frogboy and the SD team took personal offense to Warhawk's comment, since if I recall correctly, he was implying that the SD crew were liars that weren't standing behind their product when Frogboy and company are working 70 hour weeks to get the game running in prime condition. Frankly, I don't know any company-owned forums where you wouldn't get banned for posting personal attacks on company employees. They don't want to put up with that crap, and it's well within thei
well to be fair.... it isn't like stardock is unique in their dealings of problemsolving and updating their games. Other smaller gameproducers do the same. Keberos, the producers of Sword of the Stars(awesome game) are a small game producing company and they listened to the gamers and patched up the game nicely. for a small company that wants to become big needs a good ears to geat a steady base of fanboys/girls to sell their product
(slaps forehead) Sta
I've been a shameless Stardock fan for some years now. Originally came from their skinning stuff but fell in love with Galactic Civilizations and later Sins of a Solar Empire. I was in the Demigod beta. I would love to know what goes on behind closed doors. I'm a little surprised that nobody from Gas Powered Games has been on to talk to people. With Sins of a Solar Empire, Blair from Ironclad was on regularly answering questions and I still see him on and he's the
I would bet most. People who know Stardock already know Stardock didn't develop Demigod or its connectivity code. Stardock is the one who made the decision to publish Demigod and made the decision on what NAT program was used. Someone compared Stardock to Flagship studios (makers of Hellgate). Flagship Studios didn't publish Hellgate London. Electronic Arts did. The difference is that when something goes wrong with something released by Stardock they seem
Is anyone else slowly being reminded more and more of Hellgate: London, the longer this goes on? The way they keep plugging this Elemental game of theirs reminds me of how Hellgate: London's devs kept going on about how they're going to fix Hellgate, but they just constantly suggested everyone go check out their other game, Mythos. Then ultimately, Flagship Studios sold Hellgate, sold Mythos, and shut down. I don't think that exact situation is going to play out, but simply the
its not their fault, y should they have to configure things just to play the game? i know on my ps3, xbox, DS i dont have to do that.
By that argument people shouldn't have to know about anti virus, fire walls, disk defragging, printer drivers. I spent half of tonight trying to get my Vista printer to connect to another Vista Printer on my home LAN without success. And you are wrong if you think you never have to change your router. Try Halo wars on an o
So just because Blizzard is that much better, they can't be used as comparison? Kind of a flawed logic if you ask me. Demigod is in direct competition with Blizzard and its upcoming Stracraft 2. GPG and Stardock were lucky Blizzard only announced Beta for SC2 instead of a release date, otherwise we all know what would have happened. If you want to make a RTS or a MMORPG, you go in direct competition with Blizzard and that's whom you'll be compared to.
He
Frankly, blaming it on the user population and saying WC3 is 3rd in franchise with millions of users is a weak argument. What do you think I'm telling my friends right now following your answer? "No, don't come, not enough people to get you a match going in less than 5min". And most likely answer "Ouch, sucks, used to be able to play in 30s on WC3".
I would say you need to learn your numbers. If one game has 5 million players and the other game o
If it was a multiplayer game at $30, then the reviews were different. This is a full game at $40, well not quite $50 yet but still at $40, reviewers assume one will get a full single player and multiplayer game. I don't think it's the reviewers fault at all. GPG originally wanted this game to be multiplayer only. It's Stardock decision to add single player so more people will buy it and they can charge $40. You can't blame the review
Wow so much useful information here.

And now you're chanting because you'll have some other majical patch for their netcrap "soon"? What color are your cheeleader skirts?
Wow you sound like a pleasant person. I've played a few games today. Flawless. But maybe tonight's update will help
The update is working great for me.
This was a great update. I've not really had trouble getting into games in the past but the speed in which games are getting going now it looks like you guys got it.

People had alot slower computers and connections back then. I played warcraft3 since day1 for many years without any of the issues I faced in Demigod. I just want to rage quit every time I play with someone who has a simspeed of 1 right from the begining of the game. Good luck, I
Jesus Christ. My best friend has had the game since day one, and hasn't been able to connect online. At all. To anybody. He has Verizon DSL and I tested everything down to reinstalling windows, removing all routing, and plugging directly into the modem. Every week, I throw out the hope that "The proxy stuff is coming, then you should be able to get through. Then you can finally play." This is the third time
If it's on Impulse I will use it first. If not, I see if it's on Steam. If not, I buy it retail.
Uh, can you name one publisher that lets you take a game you bought at a store and send it back for a full refund? Any at all?
Not only have all of Stardock/GPG's attempts to fix multiplayer so far failed, but not one of those failed attempts has worked as intended on their first try. A for effort but F on the rest, unfortunately. How can they be releasing "betas" for a game I already bought? I don't understand the people who, this far in, can still have such a positive attitude about this.
Failed for who? You maybe. The first u
Ya the updates are lovely. Ill trade them for a functioning game.
Not to be crass but you do realize the game does function right? The problems in these blogs have to do with the included match making system being flakey but the game functions. Even multiplayer the LAN works great and I've played using GameRanger online fine and even the regular built in custom games work pretty good for me as well. I just think it's a bit of a slap in the face to the people wor
I disagree, a game should be reviewed as is, on release. If they release a game like this, they should get slammed for it. So then the next time they release a game they will do it properly. You never learn unless your hand is slapped. If everyone is all nice and sympathetic the system just gets worse and worse and worse until it eats itself.
That's idiotic. Sorry but all that would result in is publishers being sent copies much later so that they could be sure
